Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I've seen it as well. When it happens to me ... it seems to work if I switch to a different station and then switch back. Also, with premium subscription there are often more stream URLs available and some of them seem to work first time more reliably. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I have it working ... but it is not ideal. I think the main problem is that they are not yet providing now-playing information for Dorset East or Dorset West. My experience seems to match what they show in their mobile phone application ... basically just generic info when playing those 2 stations (you have to choose the region via Settings in the phone app). I think I'll hold off releasing my update until their mobile phone app starts to show things and I can then check to see if it then works in my code as well. Hard-coded (sort of). I'll regenerate the list and push an update - thanks for highlighting the their change. I don't do it dynamically because I had a concern that everything would brake if the format of their station list data changed ... so by doing it the way, that I do it now there was a chance that every if their changed their data format, people would still be able to tune in and listen and possibly still see programme and track info. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I think I have worked out how they do the removal of adverts for Premium subscribers. I'll have a go at emulating it but, as usual, it has no guarantee to work long term. I think I'll have to do it by asking the user to go and find a piece of data that is held elsewhere and then typing it into the settings. Not very nice ... but if I get it playing without adverts first then I can look at automating that extra step. Note - this does not bypass the requirement for the listener to have a genuine Premium account (which, after the 30-day trial expires, requires a monthly payment to PlanetRadio). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I've just pushed beta 0.0.5c that tries to handle the upcoming requirements from Bauer for playing their on-premium streams. You can see their FAQ for this on any of their stations by going to /stream https://jazzfm.com/stream which redirects to https://planetradio.co.uk/jazz-fm/station/on-air/changes-to-streaming-listening/ and they say: Code: FAQ's Q: Why can I no longer find your station on TuneIn / other radio aggregator app? A: At Jazz FM we want to create the very best content for our listeners, as well as the best user experience. When listeners access our streams via a third-party platform such as TuneIn/Radio app, it creates a barrier that limits our ability to understand how you like to use our service. As a result, we are encouraging all listeners to now access us directly, be that via our own app or website. You can also download the RadioPlayer app where you can listen to us plus many other stations. We really value you as a listener, and hope that this change doesnt cause too much inconvenience. You can find a list of all ways to listen, here. Q: Why can I no longer play Jazz FM on my Sonos / other connected speaker? A: It is likely that you have previously been using a third-party app to stream our station. We have now changed the way that we distribute our online streaming, and encourage you to now listen to us directly, via our own Planet Radio Music service on Sonos or via our own app or website. You can also download the RadioPlayer app where you can listen to us plus many other stations. We really value you as a listener, and hope that this change doesnt cause too much inconvenience. Q. I own an Internet Radio. Will I still be able to access Jazz FM? A: If your radio has DAB digital radio capability, you will still be able to access Jazz FM. Enter your post code in the Get Digital Radio post code checker to see if we are available in your region. Unfortunately at this time, our online-only services will not be available on some selected internet and wi-fi radios. However, there may be lots of ways you can connect your device to a phone or laptop, such as via Bluetooth, Chromecast, aux lead or USB. Simply download the Jazz FM app, or find us on our website. In this case ... a Squeezebox Player without this plugin is like "an Internet Radio" ... in which case they suggest you tune in via DAB or play it on your phone and use Bluetooth/Chromecast/AUX cable etc. However, with this plugin it becomes more like their description for Sonos ... where this plugin is like an App the helps to keep it working. Note though - I cannot guarantee that this update will work with whatever they do in the next few days, weeks and months. They do say that people can still use the UK RadioPlayer app ... so it is possible that things will still work via the UK RadioPlayer plugin however, RadioPlayer do not have all of the streams available and do not provide song info for Bauer stations because Bauer do not provide it to them (and I suspect that the two LMS plugins fight over matching the stream URL so odd things happen when trying to show what is playing). The beta repo link is not published - so drop me a PM if you want to try it. I'm waiting to see what they do. No guarantees and, yes, if the only place you would use the premium subscription is via this plugin then I suggest you hold off for now. I think they allow cancellation at any time so would only cost 1 month though. I still haven't released the premium stuff because I wanted to roll it into the Radio Now Playing plugin but I suspect that this change from Bauer might mean the end of it. Today when selecting both Scala and Jazz FM a recorded message has been played advising that the streams we are listening to will be discontinued in the next few days (we had the same message last Monday, but it went away). We have been using the plugin for a while and I have been considering upgrading to Premium to lose the slightly irritating adverts. Is it possible that the plugin can be updated to use the alternative URLs they are providing? It really is a great addition to LMS, thank you Paul. pointy56's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72509 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114252 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I can see why it is giving the error that refers to 1..31. I suspect it has been happening since UK left summer time. I have the equivalent code in the RadioNowPlaying plugin - but in there I test for the value dst_until being non-empty before trying to extract the date/time from it. However, I suspect that, apart from it appearing in the logs, it will not break anything. More concerning are: Code: [21-11-30 12:34:58.0903] Slim::Player::Song:Open (425) Error: Couldn't create command line for unk playback for [http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?...916980f681b4f] [21-11-30 12:34:59.7968] Slim::Player::Song:Open (425) Error: Couldn't create command line for unk playback for [https://jukeradio.double6.net/flc] I suspect an issue with the configuration of the LMS file/stream type conversions or a missing external handler (like lame, flac etc). But this would not be a result of anything the plugin does. I suspect that if you disable PlanetRadio and RadioNowPlaying plugins and try to play JukeRadio flac stream you will get the same error. Seems like they have reversed their change for now. My guess is that they are fading it in over the next few days and running for some hours with it enabled to give people a chance to work on changes but then switching back to avoid lots of calls to their helpdesk. I had it working ... but I cannot be 100% sure that it was working because they reverted their change while I was testing things. So I'll hold off pushing a release until things have stabilised on their side ... which also gives me a chance to work on a few annoying things that are left to do. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
Small update - version 0.0.3 - this corrects a problem in the stream matching code that resulted in some stream URLs being matched for unsupported radio stations (from the same streaming service as those used by PlanetRadio but not part of PlanetRadio group). The result was that the plugin took over the display of data but did not know how to find the data to show so the result was that their logo and potentially other information disappeared). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
OK - have updated to 661 and gave it the redirected URL to play ... and it plays well. During the process of putting 661 on the SqueezeAMP I had an issue ... I tried to shortcut the process by giving it the URL of the artifact of what is listed as the .bin but that gives a nasty looking error as it fails to write to SqueezeAMP. I suspect this is because the artifact downloads as a .bin.zip even though it is listed as .bin ... So I downloaded locally - unzipped - renamed the resulting squeezelite.bin to squeezelite-esp32-master-cmake-SqueezeAmp-16-V0.661.bin (to make it clear what it is) and then put it on a local web server ... and pointed the firmware update to it. Then all went well. I'll look into it this evening - Reliable seems to be part of the issue. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I tried the "problem "stream" on my 8.1.2 and it plays OK on my Radio. I do not have Reliable installed. The log also has enabled "formats.audio" logging to show LMS MP4 handling. The intermittent problem which shows as"Decoder does not support file format" might be due to a problem in LMS MP4 handling perhaps corrupting some of the "initial audio block" Code: [21-04-16 11:13:52.9905] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setPlayingState (2377) new playing state STOPPED [21-04-16 11:13:52.9906] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setStreamingState (2386) new streaming state IDLE [21-04-16 11:13:52.9913] Slim::Player::Song::new (109) index 0 -> https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=6023265325e4dbb2_5641880_Sh7y8E7Q__000hC1O [21-04-16 11:13:52.9916] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setStreamingState (2386) new streaming state TRACKWAIT [21-04-16 11:13:52.9928] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_playersMessage (796) Getting stream info...: https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=6023265325e4dbb2_5641880_Sh7y8E7Q__000hC1O [21-04-16 11:13:52.9933] Slim::Player::Song::getNextSong (223) https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=6023265325e4dbb2_5641880_Sh7y8E7Q__000hC1O [21-04-16 11:13:52.9934] Slim::Player::Song::getNextSong (245) scanning URL https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=6023265325e4dbb2_5641880_Sh7y8E7Q__000hC1O [21-04-16 11:13:53.2981] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::getConvertCommand2 (485) Error: Didn't find any command matches for type: unk [21-04-16 11:13:53.4553] Slim::Player::Song::__ANON__ (261) Track updated by scan: https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=6023265325e4dbb2_5641880_Sh7y8E7Q__000hC1O -> https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=60232653acf36aec_5651725_AvA2f57V__000ff61 [21-04-16 11:13:53.4555] Slim::Player::Song::getNextSong (223) https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=60232653acf36aec_5651725_AvA2f57V__000ff61 [21-04-16 11:13:53.4557] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_nextTrackReady (744) 00:04:20:27:a4:99: nextTrack will be index 0 [21-04-16 11:13:53.4558] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_Stream (1210) Song queue is now 0 [21-04-16 11:13:53.4559] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_Stream (1213) 00:04:20:27:a4:99: preparing to stream song index 0 [21-04-16 11:13:53.4560] Slim::Player::Song::open (360) https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=60232653acf36aec_5651725_AvA2f57V__000ff61 [21-04-16 11:13:53.4561] Slim::Player::Song::open (384) seek=false time=0 canSeek=0SEEK_ERROR_TYPE_NOT_SUPPORTED [21-04-16 11:13:53.4564] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::getConvertCommand2 (488) Matched: mp4->aac via: - [21-04-16 11:13:53.4566] Slim::Player::Song::open (414) Transcoder: streamMode=I, streamformat=aac [21-04-16 11:13:53.4567] Slim::Player::Song::open (470) Opening stream (no direct streaming) using Slim::Player::Protocols::HTTPS [https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=60232653acf36aec_5651725_AvA2f57V__000ff61] [21-04-16 11:13:53.5922] Slim::Formats::Movie::getInitialAudioBlock (181) Reading initial audio block: length 172736 [21-04-16 11:13:53.6618] Slim::Player::Song::open (491) URL is a song (audio): https://aod.planetradio.co.uk/a80s-meets/20191209110405.m4a?awCollectionId=a80s-meets=18497?awCollectionId=231=316771=60232653acf36aec_5651725_AvA2f57V__000ff61, type=mp4 [21-04-16 11:13:53.6624] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_Stream (1282) 00:04:20:27:a4:99: stream [21-04-16 11:13:53.6636] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_Stream (1319) Song queue is now 0 [21-04-16 11:13:53.6638] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setPlayingState (2377) new playing state BUFFERING [21-04-16 11:13:53.6639] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setStreamingState (2386) new streaming state STREAMING [21-04-16 11:13:53.7884] Slim::Player::Player::_buffering (1144) Buffering... 0 / 18432 [21-04-16 11:13:54.0896] Slim::Player::Player::_buffering (1144) Buffering... 0 / 18432 [21-04-16 11:13:54.3914] Slim::Player::Player::_buffering (1144) Buffering... 0 / 18432 [21-04-16 11:13:54.6928] Slim::Player::Player::_buffering (1144) Buffering... 0 / 18432 [21-04-16 11:13:54.9938] Slim::Player::Player::_buffering (1144) Buffering... 0 /

This error was typical of files which are in non streamable MPEG4 that Radio & Touch cannot process. A quick look at the file and it seem streamable (i.e. moov before mdat aka fasstart) but there is something else that Radio/Touch can't handle. In 7.9 PlayMP4 and "leading audio" filetypes (i.e. mdat before moov) were setup to ensure that incompatible files were not sent direct to Radio / Touch. I think in LMS 8.* these "leading audio" type are redundant now and should be removed. LMS 8.* MPEG4 handles the "leading audio" but perhaps there is something else and Reliable maybe adding complexity as changes to transcoding was also done in LMS 8.* PlayMP4 using ffmpeg - bypasses LMS so basically the ffmpeg process downloads the files into memory and sends out flac and so all LMS issues are avoided. The only issue I have so far is that it is not seekable (which may well work if I switch) - but, for me, everything is playing really well. It is Slarti that is having problems. Try temporarily disabling Reliable plugin. Also - just as FYI The "listeningSessionID" appears in the URL after LMS does its initial scan. I presume it is a result of a redirect by the streaming provider. So if trying these URLs elsewhere always start with the initial URL that does not have the "listeningSessionID". I just played the oldest one in the Forgotten 80s boxset. No problem with SB2 but played slowly (half speed?) on SqueezeAMP. I am not on latest firmware on SqueezeAMP so will update and report if still a problem there. You should be able to get the URL that is being played. Easiest way is to use Default skin on desktop and click on the item in left pane and then try it using a different player (eg mplayer). You can also take the "s" off to make it http rather than https and try to play it as a URL via LMS UI Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, supla finland, abc australia, cbc/radio-canada and rte ireland Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114252 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I have released version 0.0.2 - it is near enough the same as 0.0.2f but with the removal of the hack of https to http for "boxsets". So if you find that boxsets are not playing and your LMS is on pCP then install the updated pcp-ffmpeg extension that came out today because it enables support for https for the M4A streams that they use. There are still some issue but resolving them will take more time than I can give it for a while. Issues: - artwork not shown when boxset item is playing - contents of boxsets not seekable (might be with LMS 8.2 but I have not tried) Note: Not all stations have podcasts or boxsets. However, if you know that one does (via their app or web site) and it does not appear in the plugin then let me know. This does not include access to on demand programmes except via the schedule or podcast menu item. I might be able to change this in the future to provide an index by show name but not really possible at the moment because I get the list of programmes by station and I'm not going to query 100+ stations in the background every few minutes. Version 0.0.2 - Add access to On Demand (scheduled) content including podcasts and boxsets - Improve handling of DST by using worldtimeapi.org service The update should appear in the official list of unofficial plugins over the next few hours. New build - 0.0.2f - adds description (synopsis) to boxset items. Visible under More when viewing list of boxsets in Material and appears at top of page if you click on item in Default skin. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I have just uploaded 0.0.2e with the only significant change being the zapping of https to http for the boxsets - it makes them play here. Unfortunately there is no icon/image when they play so that is something to look at for a later date. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
I did some more investigation to try to understand why the boxsets would not play for me. Turned out to be simple. LMS is calling ffmpeg to play them ... but they are https and the ffmpeg on this pCP installation is complaining that it is not built with https support. So I expect that if I update the ffmpeg installation then it might well resolve it (if pCP team have built one more recently with it enabled). However, I changed the url from https to http and it played. So - I'll change the plugin tomorrow to convert the urls so that it will work for people who do not update their ffmpeg. Of course, that might fail in the future if they stop supporting http as an alternative but hopefully they will redirect to https or I will remove the hack. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Planet Radio / Bauer Media plugin - PlanetRock, Absolute, Kiss, Scala ++
New beta build available - 0.0.2d The main change is that "boxsets" (that is what PlanetRadio calls a set of shows/segments that can be replayed but are not on their podcast list) are now available as well. I have put them into the Podcast section in the plugin. Again, a lot of stations do not have any but those that do tend to also have Podcasts so it probably saves a few clicks by having them together. The list of shows/segments within each boxset is the same order as provided by PlanetRadio - which appears to be most recent first. I looked at putting a publication date in there are part of the show name but it looks messy and since the most recent is first in the list then it may well be OK without. Usually they have different names for each "episode" but not always (Absolute 80s has an example where all have the same name). In general, the boxset contents are M4A over https and do not play for me - but they may well work for you if you are running LMS 8.2 (I am on very recent 8.1.2). I also found a way to get the "brands" icons/logos ... so this release has changes for some of the, mostly, top-level icons. So "Magic" finally has its only logo rather than me promoting one up from the lower layer. Some are transparent which does make the list look somewhat untidy. However, it means that I don't have to rely on icon URLs being hard-coded within the plugin which should have long-term benefits (for when they add stations or rebrand). 0.0.2c now uploaded for the users of the test repo. Should fix the Jazz FM matching when using Radio.Net as the source of the stream URL. Also - first outing of Podcasts. Like the other On Demand content, I do not know if a station has podcasts until you try to get the menu for them and many of them do not. The subsequent list of podcasts is straight from them I do not control the order etc (they generally have newest at the top). That is plausible. I had to change the stream URL matching so that the On Demand content did not trigger it (since it would not know what to do with it).
