Yes, there seems to be a problem. I think bengaldave
posted somewhere else the reason and his workaround. Have a look at
other threads, where he wrote. There are many. :)

I forget, how did you install it again? Manually?
The piCore authors would know better than me, but I think that as of a
certain version of LMS a few plug-ins (3rd party) had to be installed
manually if they weren't previously installed on an older LMS version.
But I am a bit foggy about it.

I have the same issue. It always says
CustomClock (Reinstall)

Once reinstalled, I save the settings and then reboot.

After reboot still shows
CustomClock(Reinstall)

Also, it is unclear from this thread, do I need to install manually? Or
use the builtin plugin installer?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen

2022-11-03 Thread Marsupial

the only place I see my own custom screens are within the "custom clock
helper" advanced settings on LMS Settings (via web) - I can't see these
screens on the player at all.
Now... the earlier versions of custom clock applet required license
manager, which in turn required access to mysqueezebox... so I wasn't
quite sure if I needed mysqueezebox to be available or not.

Nevertheless, I've made the exercise of installing a second LMS server
onto which I managed to correctly connect to mysqueezebox, and when I
connect the player to the new one, the behaviour is exactly the same.
The only difference I can see between last it worked and the new setup,
is LMS 8.3 instead of LMS 7.9

I wonder what I am missing in the setup.

I am confused - where do you see your own custom clocks? Also, I don't
think that Custom Clock uses mysqueezebox, that appears to be another
issue.

After looking through your former posts, I‘m not quite sure where your
problem starts:
Could you install the CC applet on your players?
If so, do none of the Clock Styles show up, when you select Settings-

or can’t you only see your own styles?

You don’t need the License Manager anymore. Son number 2 recently reset
my Bathroom Radio and it wasn’t able to see the Clock Styles afterwards
and I got the never ending spinner. But that was because it was
connected to mysbc. After connecting it to LMS the Clock Styles loaded
fine. I definitely did only install the CC applet and not the License
Manager.

To make a long story short: I’d try to uninstall the License Manager.

Hm, that's right - the plugin is in the list of available plugins
without adding any additional repositories. But the error remains the
same - the plugin manager can't download the plugin because of timeout.

I tried earlier with LMS 8.3, but I thought that the plugin can't be
installed because it's incompatible with this version of LMS. But I
didn't check the log then, and thought of installing the plugin with an
earlier version of LMS and then upgrading. But if the plugin file is
unaccessible, there's no difference.

Maybe someone has an additional link of the custom clock helper plugin
zip file? Preferrably with a repository address, which would point the
plugin manager to the new location of the file.
Or can we somehow install the plugin manually, by placing the zip file
somewhere in LMS folder? I know this is not recommended, and would still
need a working link to the plugin zip. But if we had a link to the
plugin zip file, maybe as a workaround I could create a local xml file
as a repository that could be added to LMS plugins settings page?

Also, I have a backup of an LMS installation from another device, I
think it was the version before 8.0. I tried to copy the files of the
already installed plugin from the backup to my new installation of LMS
(on a joggler), to directory /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins, but
the plugin failed to load in LMS this way.

Anyway, I'm trying to find a way to install this plugin, and if someone
has installed it recently, maybe they could help me :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen

2022-02-11 Thread mnd

What is the latest repo link to download custom clock helper plugin from
(by adding it to the plugins tab of LMS settings)?

I tried
http://downloads.isaksson.info/download/do/downloadapplication?name=slimserver-customclock=CustomClock-2.12.140.zip,
but when I check the LMS log, I see:

[22-02-11 15:02:56.9033] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError
(260) unable to download CustomClockHelper from
http://downloads.isaksson.info/download/do/downloadapplication?name=slimserver-customclockhelper=CustomClockHelper-2.11.94.zip
- Timed out waiting for data

I have also tried to copy the plugin from a backup of my older
installation of LMS, but it ends with a "plugin failed to load" message.
Currently I have LMS 7.9.3 installed.

Thanks @karlek.
Using the latest version of the 'official' Custom Clock Helper plugin I
can find a Jivelite800x480 version.

I am using a 3.5" TFT with 480x320 resolution and I can select screens
that have a 'touch' mode applied, I suppose becaus the mode is selected
by the width of the screen according to some code lines I found in the
CustomClockApplet.lua file. Both screens (touch and 3.5"TFT) have a
pixel width of 480.

However, using a 'touch' mode screen wil result in a black border at the
bottom. Is there somewhere an option to use a different height?
How did you do this with your Joggler screen?
The skin I am using on my TFT is the "WAV 3.5 in LCD Skin".

Regards, deschman.

Maybe, one can cheat a littlie about this:

- If you export an existing style, you should see a key "models"
followed by a list of supported models, eg:
Code:

{... "models" : ["touch"]}

- I'm sure that I – some year ago – tweaked an existing style to fit
to my Jogglers Screen by adding, or replacing "jivelite" (or better
"jivelite800x480", as it's listed on the CCH Screen):
Code:

{... "models" : ["touch", "jivelite800x480"]}

- Then import the screen but don't forget to give it another name.

I can't check it right now, because my jivelite app doesn't start on my
Mac. I have to investigate further, but that's OT here. :-)

Not sure this is the right forum/thread but here goes

Downloaded jivelite-0.1-lua-r205-win32.zip from sourceforge

Running LMS 8.1.1 on Ubuntu (20.04). Have the Custom Clock Helper app
installed, although not sure that matters.

Running it (windows Jive) - trying to use Custom Clock but when I go to
"Screensavers->Custom Clock Settings->Config #x:" it says "Fetching
Clock Styles" forever. Never retrieves them.

FWIW Custom Clock works fine on my Squeezebox Radio - fetching styles
works, shows the standard ones and custom ones as well.

I did try downloading CustomClock_JL_1.01.004.zip from SDT sourceforge
site and substituting it in for the installed version here:
C:/Users//AppData/Roaming/Jivelite/userpath/applets but that didn't
help.

I turned on logging for CustomClock, but can't see where the log would
show up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

TomS

When you import your new definition, be sure to give it a new "name"
value, otherwise it will replace whatever definition already has that
name.

Once you've imported it via Custom Clock Helper, you should be able to
pick it from the Custom Clock settings in Jivelite.

Pommes, Paul,
Sorry I did not get a chance to respond earlier. I had experienced the
same problem maybe a year ago on an Odroid U3 with Max2Play. It only
occurs when importing the JSON file with CCH. After you import you can
add the degree symbol "º" back in using CCH and it will display as
Pommes originally planned.

Thank you,

I created this screen on lms 7.x with the custom clock helper, and from
there exported this as text file.
In custom clock helper you can just import this as new style, by
copying and pasting just the text and applying.
Once it’s transferred to the squeezebox touch, you can use this style
even on the newer LMS (64bit)

How are you creating that style. The error indicates it improperly
encoded utf8.

I believe these are the lines it doesn't like

"sdtformat": "%!Zº",

I cannot find reference as to what that format is supposed to be.

Thanks alot. Though, I didn't have the chance to try the screen yet,
because there were some troubles with my nas. But now, when I tried to
import it with the custom clock helper, it took an hour loading the
webpage, but still didn't import.

If I understand correctly, an alternative way to get the screen would be
to copy the customclockhelper.prefs file to the SlimServer/prefs folder.
Would it be too much to ask you for the customclockhelper.prefs file?

Attached are the files for the Playing screen and a changed
CustomClockApplet.lua for Erlands free version. The Applet-lua has
better colors for the screen and must be put in the appropriate folder
to replace the original. But the screen works without that also.

The screen has changed somewhat since the first post. The weathermap is
no longer supported as WU has stopped it. So this screen is no longer
for tcuttings plugin but for boomX2.

If you want german date and words in the screen you also have to replace
the latest plugin vers.55 by boomX2 with mine.

Customize everything as you like. Good luck.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen

2018-03-02 Thread Mike Meyer

Having some issues with my Custom Clock applet on an RPi. I'm thinking
it is due to the SourceForge issue though. Just wondering if anyone
else is seeing anything as well.

Bad repository http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/CC_JL_repo.xml -
Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor
Bad repository http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/repo.xml - Connect
timed out: Bad file descriptor

Also, is it normal to lose the CustomClock applet and then need to
reinstall it if I reboot the Pi? The LicenseManager applet doesn't seem
to have that issue.
Pretty new to the Pi but other than a couple minor things really
enjoying it.

2018-01-22 Thread Mike Meyer

Funnily enough I see the Wild score scrolling across the top of the Pi
tonight. So I guess that part is working. Will need to do some testing
to find out what else I can add. Icons hopefully.

I assume there's no really easy way to test out screen layouts other
than to save it and then go to the Pi and load it up? And then keep
tweaking it until it looks right?
Just making sure no one created a software test screen for the 800x480.

I have been experimenting a little bit with creating a screen saver and
I haven't been able to get any sports related information to show up on
the screen. The weather info appears fine but no sports. Has anyone
had any luck getting any sports info from the SDT plugin to show up on a
Raspberry Pi touch screen 800x480?

I started with the Touch version and was able to move some things
around, time, weather icon, temp, etc. The sports data does not show
up.

I've tried various forms of these:
sdtsporttext

%homeTeam - Name of home team
%homeScore - Home team score
%awayTeam - Name of away team
%awayScore - Away team score
%gameTime - Time of game or indication that the game is finished
%sport - The name of the league

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you are using the repository
(http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/repo.xml), you should now be
able to update the CustomClock Jivelite applet. It should be equivalent
to what Paul described - I re-started with erland's most current code
(with license dependency removed), and re-did the mods to allow it to
work under Jivelite.
It's also posted at:

You did basically what the change was..There were also some changes
since I also updated to the latest CustomClock source

To make changes persist in pCP, you need to backup.

or do it from within pCP Jivelite App, or do it from the web interface.

Yes, I think you are right. Because the custom clock Applet only
mentions erland, not you as well.

Yes, I do get a selection of CC screensavers. And I think I figured out
that my system 'thinks' it is a controller(screen). (But my Joggler
screen is 800x600...)

Yes - with multiple entries (-> All entries all listed in CCH for the
controller.)

So, I can work with this, I think.

But one question remains: How do I import CCH Settings? (i.e. import the
.txt files people are posting in this thread)?
Or to which folder location do I have to paste these files?
In LMS - Settings - custom clock helper - settings, I get an *Export*
button (when I select a clock style).
But there is no Import Button.

First off, the repo:
http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/CC_JL_repo.xml is for a version
of CustomClock modified to work with JiveLite. I believe you probably
are still installing the originalversion of CustomClock (since the repo
identifies the version in my repo to be targetted to JiveLite).

It sounds like CustomClock must actually be running in your Squeezeplay
- you indicate actually being able to view some of the CC screensavers.
The list in the CCH plugin lists all of the screens available, but most
are specific to a particular model/screen size. What's the screen
resolution on the Joggler?

As for the Screensaver settings - what do you see if you navigate to
Settings/Screen/Screensavers ? Is there a "Custom Clock Settings"
there?

I have similar problems running LMS 7.9 on a Joggler running SqueezePlay
OS (An Atom based touchscreen device; OS is based on Ubuntu)

I also added the above repos, installed custom clock helper (v2.11.94)
and SDT as plugins (v 5.10.29) in LMS and on the Joggler (running
Squeezeplay), I installed custom clock.
However, some things are strange (or I am missing something):
1) In LMS - Settings - custom clock helper - settings, I get an can
export button, when I select a clock style. But there is no Import
Button. (I do get an option for jivelite800x480)
2) In Squeezeplay, I can selectCustom Clock as a screensaver (and it
shows a too small 3 item forcast plus time), but the selection of
available styles is less than what I see in the Helper plugin in LMS.
Also, I do not see an option for changing the custom clock, i.e. there
is no added menue entry in Settings -> Screen.

I think I read through all releated post, but can not figure out whats
wrong with my setup.

Any ideas?

BTW, are you still using the SmartiPi case? Ran across your post when
looking into cases. It seems like it would be pretty good. Lots of
separate purchases, this will add up. :) But looks like a fun project
as well.

I suspect you might have to build a CustomClock screensaver to display
the Sports scores on this display resolution. If you can find a custom
clock screen which displays the sports information (built, say, for the
Touch), you should be able to use that as a starting point for one
customized for this screen size.

If so, can you post a screen shot?

Thanks!

Somehow I got it to work. I hooked it up to my local server, and the
Applet started running on the Pi. Then I disconnected it from my local
server, rebooted, and it was still running on the PiCore's LMS.

I'll take it. :-)

Off to load piCorePlayer it is, then! Wasn't thrilled with Max2Play's
model, though wish I spent more time looking before getting a license.

No, it will not work with m2p. They were brusque on questions and told

That's why I changed to pCP and it works very well. You should leave m2p

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen

2017-11-12 Thread plympton

I'm trying to get Custom Clock to work with Max2Play on a Pi w/ 7"
touchscreen. I've updated to the latest. I am registered, and have
licenses for Erland's plugins (though sounds like it's not necessary
anymore)

I have these 2 extra repos:
http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/CC_JL_repo.xml
http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/repo.xml

I have installed SDT on my Max2Play SBS (7.9 nightly)
I have Custom Clock Helper and License Manager installed in Jive Lite

When I go to Screensavers -> Custom Clock Settings, it does nothing.

There's no errors in the log, but I can't select any Custom Clock
screensavers to show the SDT screensaver.

Am I missing anything?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen

2017-04-27 Thread bluetdi

Second is the Off-Screen. It shows weather infos for today and tomorrow.
In the middle is a cycling info for the next 5 days. At the bottom is
the same long weather forcast as in the above Now-Playing screen. At the
top cycles actual weather and wind. There are also icons for snooze,
Ethernet on the rleft and on the right for the alarmclock.

22610

22609

I know there is a lot of information and you might think it is too much.
But if you want to use the screenns you can remove items you dont need.
That is easier than implementing new ones. Some items will not work
anyway with the original plugin by tcutting because I tweaked it for my
needs.

I would like to show you two screens for the Pi3 with 7" display and
Joggler-skin.

First is a Now-Playing screen. It has orders to show different weather
infos/pictures on the left side, last one is the weathermap from WU. On
the right side are songinfos, playing status, rating, genre, year and
time.

Like tcutting said... probably some weird characters... Are you doing
it on a Mac with TextEdit? I had the same problem. See here for my

Nothing has changed on my end . Make sure there are no special
characters in the file you are trying to import.
