Yes, there seems to be a problem. I think bengaldave posted somewhere else the reason and his workaround. Have a look at other threads, where he wrote. The piCore authors would know better than me, but I think that as of a certain version of LMS a few plug-ins (3rd party) had to be installed manually if they weren't previously installed on an older LMS version. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen
the only place I see my own custom screens are within the "custom clock helper" advanced settings on LMS Settings (via web) - I can't see these screens on the player at all. Now... the earlier versions of custom clock applet required license manager, which in turn required access to mysqueezebox... so I wasn't quite sure if I needed mysqueezebox to be available or not. Nevertheless, I've made the exercise of installing a second LMS server onto which I managed to correctly connect to mysqueezebox, and when I connect the player to the new one, the behaviour is exactly the same. The only difference I can see between last it worked and the new setup, is LMS 8.3 instead of LMS 7.9 I wonder what I am missing in the setup. You dont need the License Manager anymore. Son number 2 recently reset my Bathroom Radio and it wasnt able to see the Clock Styles afterwards and I got the never ending spinner. But that was because it was connected to mysbc. After connecting it to LMS the Clock Styles loaded fine. I definitely did only install the CC applet and not the License Manager. But the error remains the same - the plugin manager can't download the plugin because of timeout. I tried earlier with LMS 8.3, but I thought that the plugin can't be installed because it's incompatible with this version of LMS. But I didn't check the log then, and thought of installing the plugin with an earlier version of LMS and then upgrading. But if the plugin file is unaccessible, there's no difference. Maybe someone has an additional link of the custom clock helper plugin zip file? Preferrably with a repository address, which would point the plugin manager to the new location of the file. Or can we somehow install the plugin manually, by placing the zip file somewhere in LMS folder? I know this is not recommended, and would still need a working link to the plugin zip. But if we had a link to the plugin zip file, maybe as a workaround I could create a local xml file as a repository that could be added to LMS plugins settings page? Also, I have a backup of an LMS installation from another device, I think it was the version before 8.0. I tried to copy the files of the already installed plugin from the backup to my new installation of LMS (on a joggler), to directory /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins, but the plugin failed to load in LMS this way. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen
Not sure this is the right forum/thread but here goes Downloaded jivelite-0.1-lua-r205-win32.zip from sourceforge Running LMS 8.1.1 on Ubuntu (20.04). Have the Custom Clock Helper app installed, although not sure that matters. Running it (windows Jive) - trying to use Custom Clock but when I go to "Screensavers->Custom Clock Settings->Config #x:" it says "Fetching Clock Styles" forever. Never retrieves them. FWIW Custom Clock works fine on my Squeezebox Radio - fetching styles works, shows the standard ones and custom ones as well. I did try downloading CustomClock_JL_1.01.004.zip from SDT sourceforge site and substituting it in for the installed version here: C:/Users//AppData/Roaming/Jivelite/userpath/applets but that didn't help. I turned on logging for CustomClock, but can't see where the log would show up. Any ideas? I had experienced the same problem maybe a year ago on an Odroid U3 with Max2Play. It only occurs when importing the JSON file with CCH. After you import you can add the degree symbol "º" back in using CCH and it will display as Pommes originally planned. Cheers... But now, when I tried to import it with the custom clock helper, it took an hour loading the webpage, but still didn't import. If I understand correctly, an alternative way to get the screen would be to copy the customclockhelper.prefs file to the SlimServer/prefs folder. Attached are the files for the Playing screen and a changed CustomClockApplet.lua for Erlands free version. The Applet-lua has better colors for the screen and must be put in the appropriate folder to replace the original. But the screen works without that also. The screen has changed somewhat since the first post. The weathermap is no longer supported as WU has stopped it. So this screen is no longer for tcuttings plugin but for boomX2. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen
Having some issues with my Custom Clock applet on an RPi. I'm thinking it is due to the SourceForge issue though. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing anything as well. Bad repository http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/CC_JL_repo.xml - Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor Bad repository http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/repo.xml - Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor Also, is it normal to lose the CustomClock applet and then need to reinstall it if I reboot the Pi? The LicenseManager applet doesn't seem to have that issue. Pretty new to the Pi but other than a couple minor things really enjoying it. Funnily enough I see the Wild score scrolling across the top of the Pi tonight. So I guess that part is working. Will need to do some testing to find out what else I can add. Icons hopefully. I assume there's no really easy way to test out screen layouts other than to save it and then go to the Pi and load it up? And then keep tweaking it until it looks right? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Clock for Jivelite with 800x480 Screen
If you are using the repository (http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/repo.xml), you should now be able to update the CustomClock Jivelite applet. It should be equivalent to what Paul described - I re-started with erland's most current code (with license dependency removed), and re-did the mods to allow it to work under Jivelite. It's also posted at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/superdatetimewu/files/CC_STUFF/CustomClock_JL_1.01.004.zip retro80s wrote: > Could you publish the diffs or instructions on what to change in > jivelite? First off, the repo: http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/CC_JL_repo.xml is for a version of CustomClock modified to work with JiveLite. I believe you probably are still installing the originalversion of CustomClock (since the repo identifies the version in my repo to be targetted to JiveLite). It sounds like CustomClock must actually be running in your Squeezeplay - you indicate actually being able to view some of the CC screensavers. The list in the CCH plugin lists all of the screens available, but most are specific to a particular model/screen size. What's the screen resolution on the Joggler? As for the Screensaver settings - what do you see if you navigate to Settings/Screen/Screensavers ? Second is the Off-Screen. It shows weather infos for today and tomorrow. In the middle is a cycling info for the next 5 days. At the bottom is the same long weather forcast as in the above Now-Playing screen. At the top cycles actual weather and wind. There are also icons for snooze, Ethernet on the rleft and on the right for the alarmclock. 22611 22610 22609 I know there is a lot of information and you might think it is too much. But if you want to use the screenns you can remove items you dont need. That is easier than implementing new ones. Some items will not work anyway with the original plugin by tcutting because I tweaked it for my needs.
