These are the ones I've used, and seem to work fine for me:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edimax-EW-7811UN-150Mbps-Wireless-Adapter/dp/B003MTTJOY/ref=sr_1_2?s=computersie=UTF8qid=1435043175sr=1-2keywords=nano+wifi

I would expect that any of the ones you've listed will be fine. One
thing to be wary of, I've heard, is that it is easy to bend the contacts
in the USB sockets on the pi with some USB devices. ISTR the Edimax wifi
adapter was singled out as quite prone to this, but it is not alone in
this. Just be careful - I've not had this problem with either pi I've
used this adapter on.

+1

Also, I have not had much success with the adaptors that are pi
compatible, some work, some don't work, some work for s while and then
don't work.

I would say, try one and see, you might be lucky :)

There are other options (at a cost).

A wireless Ethernet switch like this this

or the Homeplug route

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1397640.htm?CMPID=GS001_$ja=cgid:12504951290|tsid:59158|cid:200290250|lid:94813103450|nw:g|crid:59812815530|rnd:6972174736863057392|dvc:c|adp:1o1|bku:1

Other brands are available :p

If you have a spare wireless router, it may be possible to use that.

All done. Raspberry PI seems to be working fine.

Spotify is working with the Triode update. I had to untick the Spotify
(official one) from the list just below it as is wasn't working to begin
with.

Max2play is really easy. I'm sure I saw some wake up on lan setting
somewhere but I don't think it's worth it.

Anyone tried it?

I haven't put any locally stored onto the Usb . Can that just be copied
onto it or does it have to be formatted in a particular way?

It might be a mixture of FLAC and MP3 (it's going through a Boom). It it
madness mixing formats?

Clive,

USB sticks are normally formatted with fat32, use the HP format tool to
quick format them

http://download.cnet.com/HP-USB-Disk-Storage-Format-Tool/3000-2094_4-10974082.html

Load your music onto the stick.

Use the max2play web gui to reboot the pi .

On the web gui go to Filesystem Mount, scroll down the page to

External Drives on Max2Play - mountpoints for USB-Storage

This list shows all external storages and their mountpoints. You may
access the devices by their path in Squeezeboxserver or XBMC/Kodi.

Mr Clive, If you gou withat version of squeezeplug thee is a NOOBs image
that you can download, read the info on the Squeezeplug page.

It would be better to use Max2play and run LMS on the rpi2.

What player do you intend to use for output? (Edit: Touch and BOOM)

And where in the UK are you (approx is good for now but a 'phone call
can often help if you get stuck).

I'm just now downloading Max2Play to use on a rpi2 with a hifiberry digi
out and LMS server.

When you do the install follow the instructions at each stage and don't
worry if you make a mistake, all can be resolved with patience and time.

You will find it quite rewardiing when everything is up and running.

If you have problems, PM me your address and I'll pop a preconfigured SD
card in the post for you.
