Yes I'm using the Shairtunes LMS plugin to try and stream to multiple
Squeezelite instances but the resulting audio is the result. If I
stream it to the same device (e.g. Raspberry Pi running MAX2PLAY and
instead enabling Shairport) without LMS+Shairtunes it works fine.

Sorry but I don't understand well what you're trying to do. You have a
squeezelite instance and you want to Airplay to it?

Just for fun I tried the same thing from a Windows Server VM running LMS
and I get the same result. I'd say it's a network or Wi-fi issue but it
works direct via Shairport

No longer an issue Philippe - My iMac is now working fully - ( I don't
use it normally, bought it for my daughter ) However, as it never gets
switched off it's perfect for a LMS server.

All working again :-) :-) :-)

I love you again! :o

But now as far as I can see, the plugin works. The "avahi not in path"
is not an error, the plugin tries different method to publish list of SB
players to AirPlay listener, avahi is one of them in Linux system,
obviously not available in Windows. Then in your case it defaults to the
built-in publisher

Hi Philippe

1st chance I've had to get to take a look.

I've got 'avahi-publish-player not in path' for each Squeezebox on my
system.

I've attached server.log (hopefully makes sense!)

I might be a problem with partial download. Which LMS do you have
already? You shoudl look where LMS cache is installed (in Win7 it's
ProgramData\squeezeboxserver\cache) and erase everything in "Downloaded

restarting LMS, some version have a problem with large plugin downloads.

I have another issue now Philippe.

I went back to the W10 machine and I can't enable the Shairtunes Plugin
- When I enable it it doesn't appear in the list of active plugins but
re-appears back in the list of 3rd party plugins.

Have you seen that before?

And do you think that would appear in any log?

Should it work on an iMac? (it mentions 'window' in it's title??)

2018-12-15 Thread merlineng

I've been using Shairtunes successfully for a few weeks on a W10 Laptop
with no problems.

My wife accidentally unplugged the laptop thinking it was the Christmas
tree lights  (bloody Christmas!)

Now the list of devices for Airplay are only shown for 1 minute or so -
I can stream to them, and after a minute the music stops, and then they
are not shown in the airplay list.

Stopping and restarting LMS brings them back, but only for another
minute.

I don't understand what's changed - but something has (maybe a W10
update I'm not aware of?)

Anybody know any reason why this would happen? - I've read on here that
somebody else had the same problem but can't find it.

Thanks
Tony

But I still had to correct the path from

Perfect!

You were wondering about my use case:
We are using often a library app to listen to audio books from our
e-library. That stuff plays only on our phones or the PC.
I used to stream that from the PC to a SB but that was clumsy. The I
used bluetooth. Better, but still coupling aso.

Now I can just stream it via Airplay - thanks to your great plugin!

Bloody hell ... I had my editor again randomly moving files from
Unix-format to Windows format and it messed up all the strings. And the
directory name for the 5.18 was wrong ... crap. Anyway, if you can
remove and re-install 104.1 and let me know

Thank you - and sorry that this causes so much trouble... I still can
not get it to run.
(To be sure that there is no conflict with my prior tinkering, I started
from a functioning backup of my OS - a backup I took prior to doing
anything with shairtunes.

Just FYI:
I used the version from
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/lms-shairtunes2/dev/repo-sf.xml
Using that repo, the plugin name in the plugin folder is slightly
different than when using the 3rdparty version: It is now listed as
"PLUGIN_SHAIRTUNES2 (v0.104.1)

Try version in the dev repository. I usually provide all biaries (except
the linux-wide openssl but you certainly have it), so that includes
Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA. If it still does not work, you might have an issue
with what you tried to install that might take precedence over my
version. In that case, locate the Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA (random and RSA)
system files and remove them

Thanks again, Philippe!
Unfortunately, updating this thing to a newer debian distro is really
completely beyond my capabilities...
(The Joggler runs "Squeezeplay OS", built by a joggler forum member -
many people rely on this setup)
But you are right - I hit a dead end here:
Executing the above cpan instruction fails with "can not allocate
memory" - the Joggler has only 500MB of Ram...

Ill head to the jogglerforum in hope that the SqueezePlayerOS developer
still has an idea.

if you are not used to build, I recommend you update your Debian
distribution, really. You might not have build tools on your system. If
you really want to continue, you can try to add build essentials and
then add RSA module which needs a proper C toolchain to be installed

sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo cpan Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA

So, reread the initial 15 pages of the thread and got a step further:
I downloaded crypt.zip from your post#50 in this thread, copied the
files to the respective folders, renamed the folder to what was listed
in @INC: elib/5.18/i386-linux-thread-multi-64int
and: no more errors! But the plugin still does not work - it still does
not find the setting html.
Then I set (plugin.extensions) and (server.plugins) to warning ang get
the follwing log:

Hi Philippe;
thanks for your feedback - I really would like to get this running. It
would eliminate a lot of messy bluetooth stuff in our house.

Just to clarify: The Joggler hosts my LMS (and also acts as a
Squeezebox). So my intend in installing your plugin to the Joggler is to
be able to use my SB Classics in the house optionally as AirPly
devices.

WRT updating the Linux distribution: I keep it up to date with apt get
update. To use a completely new distribution is out of my capabilities,
as the OS on the Joggler is a "handtaylored" one made by a guy from the
Joggler community years ago.

Is there any why to get it going with my current perl version 5.18.2?

As I recall, the issue/problem was/is with the perl version installed on
the Joggler. Philippe provided a couple of special builds but these
wouldn't work either. We gave up at that point.

Did anyone get this plugin to work on a Joggler?
This would be this setup:
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1543258616 @ Mon Nov 26 20:27:06
CET 2018
Betriebssystem: Debian - DE - utf8
Plattformarchitektur: i686-linux
Perl-Version: 5.18.2 - i686-linux-gnu-thread-multi-64int
Audio::Scan: 0.95
IO::Socket::SSL: 1.965
Datenbankversion: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)

The plugin looks like beeing installed, but its not really - i.e. it
does not find the settings page of the plugin.
I read through a big part of the thread, but only saw some early
attempts from castalla which from what I understood did not work...

This is an initial question - i dig deeper in log files etc, but 1st, I
need to get spotty running again

(Never change a running system.)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2018-12-11 Thread htcheng

Hi,

Has anyone else had an issue where mp3 files cannot be played on a
Homepod? Other files play correctly, but mp3 files load but there is no
audio and the log files throw out an error:

[18-12-11 17:26:42.8385] Slim::Player::Song::open (409) Error: Couldn't
create command line for mp3 playback for
[file:///[serverpath]/Five%20Hundred%20Miles.mp3]

I believe it has to do with the lack of a proper transcoding rule for
MP3 to PCM or ALAC - I tried a few custom-convert.conf entries like:

Code:

mp3 pcm * *
  # FT
  [lame] --mp3input --decode -t --silent $FILE$ -

but this didn't work. These same files play on Squeezebox Touches,
piCore Audio players, and Squeezebox Radios that I have in the house,
but not the homepod. I haven't tested on Airplay 1 speakers but I did
have the same problem where mp3 files didn't play on my Mac running
AirServer which is essentially an Airplay 1 speaker in disguise.

Any suggestions?

Look at the server log and the player specific log (you’ll find a hint
where to find that one in the plugin settings) and post or (PM me) these
(an extract for the server log). It still smells like firewall as
Shairtunes opens a web server for either LMS or the players to query the
audio and usually this is blocked by Windows

That was certainly part of it, thank you - windows defender interacts in
odd ways with my third party firewall software.

Last question, and I appreciate your patience to this point. It's now
at the point where the device will connect to LMS, track info (or a
placeholder for track info) comes up, but no content plays. Can even
control the volume from my phone. Are there any other applications I
should be making sure the firewall isn't blocking, or ports that aren't
open but should be? It seems odd that LMS should be able to stream
everything but content running through shairtunes.

I don't know what Windows version you're using, but obviously the helper
(binary executable) has been deleted or made unaccessible from your
system. Check that you don't have an antivirus preventing that to run or
anything else that blocks the access to that application (helper)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2018-11-24 Thread merlineng

Well - I updated to the latest Shairtunes on my ancient XP laptop that
has sat flawlessly feeding my sqeezeboxes for the last few years.

LMS didn't restart, so I dug the laptop out from behind the settee where
it lives to see what was going on.

I couldn't get LMS to start - and I noticed that all my screen icons
(which is not many as this laptop is dedicated to LMS) were greyed out.

Nothing to do with the Shairtunes update obviously, but very strange all
the same.

I ended up going back to a restore point a couple of months back to get
my icons back, and still LMS would not start. It complained about a
software conflict, but didn't list what the conflict was.

So, I've ditched the old bugger, as it's probably time anyway, and I
have a little 10" Linx laptop with W10 on it. Installed the latest LMS
on to it, and Installed Shairetunes.

ALL WORKING - Simple as that - I've spent weeks messing about with an
old laptop, when a £100 W10 tablet (with keyboard in this case) does the
job just fine.

Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you.

Amazon Music is streaming through my house - my family don't have to
suffer with my old music collection on my mp3 drive any longer!

:D:D:D

Cheers Philippe

Latest version of Shairtunes or LMS ?

And can I update Shairtunes via the webcontrol, or do I have to do it
manually?

Thanks

I use Shairtunes mainly to stream SiriusXM from an old Iphone to my
Picoreplayer based LMS running on a Pi 2 and played on a
Picoreplayer/Jivelite Pi 3 (and other Pi's around the house). It works
well for the most part, however lately it has failed to fetch the
Artwork for any songs like it used to. I don't know if this is the APP
on the Iphone or something in the plugin.

It's because you've not used for a while and I've changed some
parameters and did not fully handle the migration (there was a couple of
versions with did set a wrong value to re-encoding). As soon as you set
a value for encoding, it goes away

Hi,

I'm running latest LMS nightly on Windows Server 2012R2. Shairtunes
0.103.5.

This plug in used to work great, but I haven't tried using it for a
while. Now it no longer does. The targets are visible in the iPhone,
when I try to airplay, the LMS web interface gets the information about
the track but nothing plays.

I'm attaching a long log from my trying to airplay something form an
iPhone to a PCP-based Squeezelite player. The funny thing I see there is
that it complains that I do not have a transcoder for a PCM file:

Code:

What OS, CPU and system is this? The plugin works with a Perl part that
establishes the connection with the AirPlay devices and once the audio
stream starts, launches a binary (helper) that receives the audio RTP
stream and makes is available to the SB as a HTTP client. The Perl
communicates with the helper thorugh a socket which, in your case, is
closed by the Perl part for an unknown reason. Sorry, but I can't tell
more at that time

The warning is still there because every attempt to add an mDNS item
fails, using the existing avahi or the built-in server. I don't know why
at that point. It's something strange with your system, as no app can be
launched from within LMS. You might a access right issue or somethign

There are 2 type of logs: one per player and general log in LMS's
server.log. The one we want server.log and you need to activate the
logging to "info" in LMS settings, advanced tab, choose "logging" in the
dropdown box (do NOT got Shairtunes in that list)

Hi Philippe

I have been messaging you via sourceforge but you recommended I did it
here.

I have LMS on an old XP (SP2) Laptop with a Pentium Processor.

I have ticked the option for a log file, but don't get a Shairtunes
log.

I get a folder called ..\Squeezebox\Logs with 3 text docs in it, but
nothing about Shairtunes.

(My players are not showing on my iPhone)

Cheers
Tony

This means that although avahi is detected, the process of creating the

case

Yes
As I habe a SIM-Card in the PI (using an adapter) I use the WLAN
function of the PI as an Hotspot. So my iPhone is connected wia Wifi to
the PI and the PI is the Host of the WIFI, so they are both connected
into the same WIFI.
I also can use an SSH-App on my iPhone to connect to the terminal of the
PI and I can use VNC-Viewer to use my iPhone as an Display for the PI,
so the connection is working

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I still don't get it. I think you can have LMS, squeezelite *and*
shairport running at the same time, just when you start streaming from
your iPhone, the audio output will be fed by shairport. It will be
faster than going through Shairtunes2W. I have to say that I'm still a
bit confused as well by your general use of LMS. If you have no local
music at all and you do is Deezer only, then why not using Deezer from
your iPhone directly and stream it to a Chromecast Audio? As much as I
like LMS (and I do) I don't see the point of using it here.

That would be an alternative.
But I use the PI with LMS to stream music from deezer (that is the main
purpose) but because the PI is using an adapter with a SIM-Card to get
into the Internet, I often loose the connectivity and so I can not play
music (have no music localy on the Pi)
And in this scenario I want to be able to connect my iPhone using
Airplay (ShairPort2W) to stream from my iPhone through LMS to my car.

I hope this is more understandable^^

I might have misundertood what you want to do, but if you want to stream
from your iphone to the Pi in your car, I think going through LMS and
Shairtunes2W is a very complicated way. Why not installing an AirPlay
client like shaiport to turn the pi into and AirPlay receiver?

Hello and sorry to jumpdirectly in with a question/problem.

I have an RaspberryPi3 with Raspbian on which I have installed
Squeezebox-Server and Squeezelite. This RaspberryPi is located in my Car
and connected through an AUX-Cable (with an external USB-SoundCard).
I use Deezer the most time, but with the internet dissapearing often
(SIM-Card in an USB-Adapter connected to the Pi...) I wanted to use my
iPhone to play music on the Pi.

So I found Shairport2W and installed it and first I could not open the
Setzings-page, so I searched here and found that I had to install some
dependencies. I did that and now I can open the settings-page, but my
iPhone (iPhone7 iOS11.1.2) can not find the Pi. I alredy restarted the
Pi several times and still can not find it. Have I forgotten something?
I have not installed any helper or configured some systemfiles for this
Plugin. Or is the iOS11.1.2 simply not supported?

Thank you in advance for any help :D

Candidely, it's probably better to just replace the Pi1 by any newer
version. But if you really want to give it a try, as the error message
says, try to install libc6-udev (same for zlib). There is probably and
apt package available so you can do some 'sudo apt-get install libc6' or
similar (maybe use libc6-armhf, I'm not sure) )or you can go
https://packages.debian.org/sid/armhf/libc6-udeb/download to get the
individual package and install it through dpkg

Hello,

Due to multiple crashes i was unable to solve i decided to reinstall
lms. This was the occasion to start over with debian stretch vm as the
precedent was a jessie.

I have a problem with the shairtunes plugin. It's installed (in the
plugins page) but when i want to go in the parameters i have:

Code:

404 Not Found:

Do you have an idea of what is going wrong?

Cool workaround! I copied over libeay32.dll from the bin folder of
ShairTunes2W to C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\Server. Renamed the
file as libeay32_.dll. Hey presto LMS starts correctly and the plug-in
works.

Hopefully Philippe can pick up on this and correct the start-up
behaviour.

I have found a work around to stop getting the error. I added the
libeay32_.dll to the directory of the main program under squeezebox
program application
C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\Server
if you copy the missing libeay32_.dll file (from the RSA directory), to
the directory above, the error disappears. It seems the way the plugin
is compiled is looking for that library under the main window, instead
of its own directory. I read that one way to stop window from looking
for a dll under c:\windows\system32 is to put the dll file in the main
program directory and that is what is happening.
I am ok now. Thanks a lot for your help!! I really appreciate it! this
is a wonderful plugin!
I do not know how difficult it is to eventually fix, but if you decide
to fix it in an upcoming release and cannot reproduce it, I will be very
happy to test it.

You’re not the only one! I run LMS on a Windows 7 machine and the
problem started with the changes made around early June when, as you
observed, there were a lot of issues. I found, like you, that if you
click ‘OK’ LMS continues to load and everything works. I have not had
your flac problems. The niggle is that LMS doesn’t start automatically
after a reboot and needs manual intervention to click on ‘OK’.

Yes sorry, I edited my last message and corrected it. The error I get is
a window small screen message, I am not sure I can attach an image to
this forum, but if you want to see what it looks like, you can google
"window message libeay32.dll error + image" you will see one of those
standard images. It just popps up when Shairtunes is enabled. On the top
left of the message window Squeez~3.exe system error (that is the
program compaining), I am just copying it as is, I do not know what
that means. Also interesting is the message changed
in win 7 X 32: Libeay32.dll is missing
in Win 7 X 64: Libeay32_.dll is missing
in Win 10 X 64: No error message
After you click ok on that message, the plugin loads and works.
It seems that some part of the plugin references in some unused part of
it a library location that is required to be registered in Window, so it
complains, otherwise the program is working.
I am surprised that I am the only one seeing this... Maybe most users
are Linux, I was going through the thread, I saw that some linux users
had to load in an SSL tools library to get it to work, it is probably
the same issue on windows, but it is not as easy to fix.

It always works (in wave mode). The only problem is that when LMS starts
with the 0.9 version of plugin, I used to get this Win 7 error message
Libeay3.dll is not found. Once I click ok on it, everything is good.
What I was trying to tell you, is that with 0.9 version of the plugin I
was getting Libeay3.dll not found, however with the 1.02.1 I am getting
the error libeay3_.dll (with underscore), before I did any changes. I
did not notice that the error has changed at first, but when you asked
me to do the filename change, I saw that and I had to made sure, so I
did a fresh install with 1.02.1 and sure enough the error file name has
changed. But I never had a problem with the plugin not working.

Thanks for the clue. The full tree is exactly as you have it under
Program Data\...\installedplugins\shairtunes2w\elib\...the LMS bin
directory however is under Program Files(x86)\Squeezebox\server\bin\..
does not have a libeay32.dll file. I changed the file name as you
suggested, now the error message changed to libeay3_.dll not found...
Then I tried to copy and paste the file to same directory so I have two
file names ( libeay3.dll and libeay3_.dll) the error remained as
libeay3_.dll not found. Then I reverted back to original name, and I
kept getting the same error libeay3_.dll not found (even though the name
was back as it was!). I also tried to add a copy of the file as
libeay3.dll under the LMS bin directory ( in program Files(x86) while
keeping original name libeay3_.dll in original directory, the error
message kept the same libeay3_.dll not found.

It seems under window, you cannot change the .dll names since they get
registered as the program installs and you cannot change that. It is
very weird that the problem goes away under win 10 with a fresh install
also...

Can you list the full tree under the Shairtunes2W directory? in
elib\5.14\MS...\auto\Crypt\OpenSSL\RSA, you should have a libeay32_.dll.
Can you try to remove the trailing _? I did that b/c that file already

The fact that it works means that this dll is loaded at some point, when

I have the old SB1 it does play FLAC (on the spec?), but never tried it.
Mp3 works, so it should be a player issue, I agree, no worries. On the
.dll error, it only happens when I enable the shairtunes2 plug in ( and
does not happen in win 10). I think on your system, you probably have a
lot of SSL applications, or some required perl download, that is why it
is not complaining. My guess, is that Win 7, is looking for LMS to
provide the .dll library and is not looking at the plugin library ?
Maybe that is a clue. When the error happens, the window error message
says to reinstall LMS to fix it (I am not sure if this is a clue or this
is a standard window 7 message). It seems there is some download or
upgrade requirement on window 7 I do not have. I did a totally fresh
install today and I downloaded all the Win 7 updates. LMS is the only
application running. Something I am missing.

I don't know - Win7 x64 is my main machine and test system and I never

The issue might be more related to the device itself and it's acceptance

Philippe, I just loaded a fresh win 7 with all the upgrades, with the
first program loaded LMS 7.7.6 and shairtunes2 1.0.02 ( this is the
latest I found for both on the web). You mention 7.7.6 is old, but that
is the latest on the Logitech web for windows. The error message
Libeay3.dll missing still comes up. But the plugin works for Wave, but
not for Flac... Something is not linked well with the library and win 7.
But seems the problem going away with Win 10. I have not tested Flac in
Win 10. I will update you when I do it. Thanks for the response!

I've missed that post, sorry. did you tru version 0.102 and above? Why
keeping such an antic version of LMS? 7.9.x has only benefits. I don't
even know what Perl version 7.6 is coming with, but this is likely the
source of the libeay3.dll not loading. This is not for flac in
particular, but just indicate that the only version of Perl (5.14) for
which I've build extra libraries is different between 7.6 and 7.7 (and
above)

In post 1 you state:

Some Debian Stretch distributions (e.g. Raspian) only provide
openssl1.0.2, but 1.0.0 is needed. For armv7 (Pi 2 and above) download
the version for Jessie here or using wget
http://security.debian.org/debian-se...b8u8_armhf.deb then install it
with sudo dpkg -i libssl1.0.0_1.0.1t-1+deb8u7_armhf.deb. For an armv6
(Pi A and Zero), use this one here

But the sudo dpkg command refers to deb8u7_armhf.deb not
deb8u8_armhf.deb

Confused

This happens because LMS itself disconnect and reconnects constantly the
players. Here Shairtunes just received the message from LMS, there is
nothing initiated by me. So it means an underlying network issue or a
sever connectivity problem

Hi philippe_44

My server.log is flooded with messages of airplay players being
constantly terminated and created. This happens every minute or so:

Code:

[18-08-29 08:24:34.0403] Plugins::ShairTunes2W::Plugin::removePlayer (383)
publisher for piCorePlayer PID Proc::Background=HASH(0x6c90e88) will be

create client Slim::Player::SqueezePlay=ARRAY(0x59598a8) with proc
Proc::Background=HASH(0x679f720)

Airplay playback stops regularly. And I'm having issues with synced
players when playing radio. Around every 30 seconds the radio streams
restarts. I assume that both issues are due to the constant termination
and recreation of airplay players.

Any ideas how to pin down the problem?

My setup is picoreplayer on Raspberry Pi with mixed players - Raspberry
Pi and original Logitech devices.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2018-08-02 Thread mitrih

I just upgraded to LMS 7.6.6 on Window 7. When I load the latest v0.92.1
of ShairTune2 fork, I keep getting Libeay32.dll error (however the
plugin loads ). When I disable the Flac option from the advanced,
everything works fine ( except for the initial error message when I
restart LMS). With the FLac option on, obviously it does not work, since
flac is looking for that .dll file. I noticed that file already exists
in the bin directory ( I upgraded it to another file) but that did not
help the problem.
Any help how to get rid of the error is appreciated! This is a long
thread, and I noticed Philippe addressed it early on (Merci!), by
recompiling the Flac, but I did not see it addressed later in the
thread, so must be related to my system.

Hello,

Since few week and before the last upgrade, I can't go to the
configuration of the plugin (I have the message 404 Not Found:

I tried to uninstall and install again and I had the same problem.
Nothing in the log.
Also, the airplay devices isn't available anymore on apple device.

Thanks :)

I don't know what happens here. LMS adds its own Perl path before system
path.

So before the problem was that if I do not provide the matching shared
lib for a given Perl version/OS/CPU, my Crypt.pm was used first and it's
version (0.30) was not matching the shared lib that was found in the
system path (do not confuse Perl version and library/package version)

By removing my Crypt.pm from initial attempt, the system's Crypt.pm is
loaded (if any) and then the shared lib will be loaded. If I have
provided a Perl version/OS/CPU matching shared lib, due to @INC order,
mine will be used instead of system's one. It might fail if mine is not
matching Crypt.pm system's version (which is unfortunate) but then at
second attempt my Crypt.pm will be loaded and then the loaded shared lib
version will match.
