Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
So could the daemon not simply try to reestablish the connection instead of restarting itself? This would cause a slight delay before the music starts but not break everything like a daemon restart. I'm a bit behind the library I'm using for the interaction with Spotify. I'm not saying that catching up with them will fix this issue, but I'll certainly try to catch up with librespot development. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Well, the playlist is not for an only artist. There are several songs from various artists. In former Spotify versions, I think they appear as single marked as favourite songs (with the green heart). Now they appear as a list called temas que te gustan (in English songs you like). How ist it not correctly imported? Oh, that list. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Hiya, I currently run PiCorePlayer and Jivelite on my Raspberry Pi w 7" touch screen. I additionally have an IR receiver attached to GPIO so that it can be controlled by a squeezebox IR remote. I use it to control a Squeezebox Receiver, while also giving it a good looking "Now Playing" screen. However, Jivelite doesn't show a clock on the Now Playing screen, and can't be (easily) customised to do so. So I have the clock screensaver currently enabled, which is great as a clock, but not so great when I want to see what song is playing. So I'm thinking of playing around with running the Material Skin instead. I think it's better visually, too. However, I was wondering two things: 1) would it work with a Squeezebox remote control? What would i need to install to get it to work with my GPIO IR receiver? Or would a Flirc USB device be easier to set up? 2) does anyone know of either a pre-rolled free distro that supports a 'web kiosk' mode for the Raspberry Pi? Basically I want it to work like PiCorePlayer where everything runs from a RAM Disk so that power can be cut without risk of data loss/corruption. I found this one: https://www.binaryemotions.com/digital-signage/raspberry-digital-signage/ but it's 17.90 and I couldn't get the free version to find my WiFi network, plus it doesn't seem to support installing extras - so no IR. Does anyone know of anything similar? Alternatively, is there a way to turn Raspbian into a RAM-only distro, but with a method to write changes to disk (such as the cookies once Material is set up). I know in PiCorePlayer + Jivelite there is a setting to "write settings to SD card" so that next time you boot they are saved, but if I'm hacking Raspbian to run from a ramdisk, then I wouldn't think a 'write to sd' option would exist, right? Material skin is a web-page, so I don't -think- it would work with a Squeezebox remote or Flirc. I think you'd need Material to respond to keyboard navigation (up, down, left, right, enter, tab, etc). I've had requests to add keyboard navigation, and did try to implement but when a menu is shown it does not seem to get focus so I gave up. It -might- be possible to add keyboard nav to Material, but would be a lot of work for a use-case I do not have. Sorry. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS
Amazon has freshly certified V4 of MediaServer which is now live (no need to update anything on your end - you automatically use the newest version always). There are 2 new commands (to play/stream a random playlist from your library), but the most noticeable change is that the skill now heavily uses *Alexa Presentation Language* (APL) to provide visual feedback for most commands. Obviously, your Echo will need to have a display for this to work  In the past, the 'Stream' commands always displayed an image (which recently also became cover-art) on Echo's with screens, but that was done via a separate Amazon feature especially for the AudioPlayer interface. This new APL stuff is something I have specifically/custom designed using Amazon's JSON-based markup language. In this first release with APL, I've defined 4 templates to best match the nature of a command. A now-playing type screen shows large Cover Artwork of the track together with several categories of metadata from your tags: 34576 When it is appropriate to display more than one cover, a sideways *scrollable list* is shown with smaller images and less metadata (for example, when you ask "what's up next?" or to "list albums by Snow Patrol"): 34577 If a list containing cover art would be very long and take forever to display, a *vertically-scrollable* text list is shown instead: 34578 For certain categories like "List my players" a single, larger, line of text is displayed in the middle of the screen: 34579 A point worth remembering is this. Material or iPeng have the luxury of retrieving artwork via your LAN (usually Gb/s or at worst 100's Mb/s) which always feels 'snappy'. Amazon is retrieving artwork via the -upload- speed of your ISP and this is much more likely to be in the 10's Mb/s range -at best-. The good news is that Amazon actually fetches it -after- the skill has responded so any slowness does not cause timeout issues. Also, the Echo displays APL for approx. 30 sec after a skill session or one-shot closes so there's time to 'paint' if needed. With decent broadband the overall experience is very fluid, but with rural internet YMMV. For this reason, you can use a new *Inhibit* command to "disable artwork display" if your internet is not up to it. It's all in the docs. Note that if your Echo does not have a display the artwork is never retrieved wastefully. Also, while APL is being displayed after a *one-shot* command, the session is held open but with the Echo's microphone closed. This means that for your next one-shot you can drop the "... ask MediaServer to ..." but you _will_ have to put an "Alexa, ..." in front of it to open the mic. Example: "Alexa, ask MediaServer what's playing?" [one-shot] --> spoken response, with APL on screen "Alexa, what's coming up?" [partial one-shot] rather than "Alexa, ask MediaServer what's coming up?" Sessions are *not* affected by this new behavior and continue to work as they always did (the docs explain in detail what is meant by one-shots and sessions, but in a nutshell a session results from the open/launch command and allows back-to-back commands). By the way, I can trap what item (cover/metadata) you click on when you scroll a list on the screen so this could actually be used to play/select items in LMS. That would mean that MediaServer becomes a hybrid voice/touch controller. I'd be interested in hearing comments on the desirability of that. Enjoy! +---+ |Filename: discovery.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34579| +---+ philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Announcement only working after manual restart of squeezeboxserver service on rpi4 Hi, I am using this plugin on my rpi4 with raspbian. Installed from Debian package. I don't know how to fix this the good way... My investigation showed that, only if I restart the squeezeboxserver services manually again via systemctl, the problem is gone. No warnings nothing, everything works as intended afterwards. I already tried to disable the service and start the server by crontab @reboot, but problem remains. After a manual restart of the service is works again... After a restart of the service it runs stable until I reboot the system. Can you help me to figure out what to do to fix this? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
A last question, mherger, when, importing playlists, all works ok, but there is a new list (I think this is a new version of Spotify) that gets all the single songs in a list called temas que te gustan (in English themes that you like or something similar). Do you know why this list is not imported correctly? Can you tell me what URI it uses (see the Share option in a Spotify app)? How ist it not correctly imported? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Tidal plugin with big playlists (2000+)
Thanks mherger, > That said, I believe that if you integrated TIDAL with your local > library, that would import up to 2500 tracks per playlist. Does this mean it is possible, but weird? :-) Can I test it at my library? So although we share the same Synology Intel platform and use the same LMS Docker image something must be different. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
I tested now a bit more: I can dispatch Spotify audio between any of my six SB radios without any problem. Only if I dispatch to my iPhone and then back to the Radio I get an issue (restarting daemon). My theory is - just a guess: - In the moment I dispatch audio output to my iPhone the Spotify server is closing the connection to the Spotty Connect daemon. But the Connect daemon stays unaware as it is not sending heartbeats to the server. - When I later dispatch audio back to this daemon it realizes the connection to the Spotify server is stale and restarts. This takes way too long and does not lead to any audio playing. So could the daemon not simply try to reestablish the connection instead of restarting itself? This would cause a slight delay before the music starts but not break everything like a daemon restart. loopguru's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67725 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
