I'd say "Yes" if you want Italian users to find things using italian words
everywhere

in this way, do the function/modules of Processing and Expression are

both English and translated tags (if any) to find a function.
For Processing, if I understood correctly, it uses a single language. If
you want both English and Italian tags to be used for search, you need to
keep source strings and add translated ones to the list in Transifex. If
there's no translation or translation == source as in [0] e.g., then only
English words are used for search.

thank you for your quick reply.

the previous tag strings are untranslated, as you can see in [1],
so do you suggest to translate also the old tags?
in this way, do the function/modules of Processing and Expression are

please sorry for these questions maybe trivial...

Hi stefano, all

These are indeed search tags for expression functions implemented in [0]
and pushed as single words to be translated in Transifex.
I wonder if it's better for translators to have single (somehow)
uncontextualised string to translate [1], or whether we should display the
list of words to translate, as done for Processing tags.

ciao,
a few days ago about 600 new strings were added to Transifex to be
translated.
Most of these strings are a single word whose context is: [1]
Context: QgsExpression
Resource: qgis-application

As an Italian translation group we can't figure out exactly what they are;
they look like search tags.
Do you think they should be translated or not?

2022-01-06 Thread Alexandre Neto
Eheh I am not really a developer ^^ I just try to keep a LTR branch on
conda-forge, but most of the time real maintainers solve the problems.

But, yes. Starting on QGIS 3.20.x it's needed a more recent version of Qt5
than the one that is provided by conda-forge. There are not many hands to
work on the Qt builds and it's quite complex, therefore the work is going
quite slowly.

There's already a Qt5.15 build but now we are missing another components,
we need to be patient... As Alexander said, it's all based on volunteers
work.

Once that is solved, we should be back to regular releases not much time
after the Oficial QGIS releases.

Best regards,

Alexandre Neto

Before this Qt issue, conda QGIS releases usually followed official QGIS
releases with a small delay of  ~0-2 weeks.

Quick question, is there a conda release schedule?  I see that 3.18.3
is the latest release that is currently in Conda. Is there some
timeline laid out for when new releases hit Conda Forge?

Thanks,

Hi, all,
Sorry to bother again. But is there anyone can help?
I have a problem building qgis 3.2 with python plugin. I think it may be
related to the character set, as I'm using a Windows 10 OS in the Chinese
language. I paste the error image here, hoping someone knows how to solve this
problem. Thanks very much.
This time I didn't change the character encoding to UTF-8 with BOM, instead I
add the command "/utf-8" to the project settings to force vs2015 to execute
with utf-8 encoding.

Prezado(a),

Semana passada relatei a falta de um plugin na versão 3.0 do QGis, para
importar tabela com Azymuth e distância, como o azimuth and distance plugin
da versão 2.18.

Na necessidade de fazer tal atividade, retirada de matrículas, documentos
de imóveis baixei a versão 2.18 do QGis, fato que, o plugin azimuth and
distance plugin instalado está com defeito. Fiz o processo, importando
azimuth e distância, o aplicativo formou área, porém formou se um polígono
com a metade da área real do imóvel.

Resultado, tive que me submeter ao uso do auto Cad para realizar a tarefa.

Caso, seja do interesse a montagem de um novo plugin, ou caso já exista um
outro modo de fazer a atividade, me disponho a testa lá.

2017-07-21 Thread Evgenia Sinieshtany
Greetings to all!

When trying to print rotated map in composer manager I encountered a
problem that labels are shifted. I need to save again my layer in project
projection for avoid this offset.
It was tested in version 2.6 there were no offset!

Please see my question here
https://issues.qgis.org/issues/16897

The trick suggested by Giovanni Manghi does not fit me, because I use atlas
generation and creating new composer is unnecessary.
When I choose the map that I want to print in composer atlas list menu, I
have already defined rotation angle value (calculated from projection
formula),
and even if I manually set it to 0 and then my angle again, there is still
offset.
Is it possible to get rid of this distance without creation new composer?

Thanks!

Hi all,

How about the switching between .qgs files for subsequent requests handled
by a single fcgi instance?

Hope someone can just shed a bit more light on this.

2017-01-11 Thread DelazJ
Hi,
Some other points below:

1/ An option I couldn't understand is in Layer properties dialog -->
General tab, the option *Layer name displayed as *where you can
only change the layer name but the "displayed as" is immediately synced
with it.
I'd expect the Layer name to not be modifiable and the displayed one to be
the way I want it to appear in my project.

2/ Being able to give a title to the symbology, which will be used by
default in the composer legend. I mean, with a single layer, I can prepare
different styles showing different analysis of the same data (let's say
"type of service of airports" in a case and "level of activity of
airports" in other one). But I can only have a single name for the layer
regardless these styles. So when this layer is added to the composer legend
the group name that is displayed is the layer name which I would then need
to replace for a more related title. Having a title set in the Symbology
dialog (and saved within the style) would help to skip that step.
This title could also be displayed in the Layers panel, just under the
layer name.

Should I open issues in the UIX platform or should I rather open the issues
in redmine?

Thanks,
Harrissou

I think I'd be OK with that. My biggest problem is wanting to keep the
layer in my map document even if the reference is bad so that I don't
lose styling or other information.

Also +1 for intelligent fixing of layers with similar data source.

Hi
In QGIS versions before 2.6 , I could right click and show a custom popup

consuming the right click event on the QgsMapCanvas.
Do anyone know anything about this?
How can I get a right click event from the QgsMapCanvas again?

I have connected a slot to the customContextMenuRequested signal of the

I connected to the parent widget's customContextMenuRequested signal,

Ok .. Now that I have my connection more or less back I see that Richard
already told you how and what to do ..

Nothing left for me to explain ..

But if you have any more question just ask it on the list ..

And I recommend you to subscribe to the translators mailing list (a
usually very low traffic list only to inform translators about important
dates like string freeze)

thanks a lot for offering your help .. the arabic file is in heavy need
for a new maintainer ..

kind regards

Hi Reda,

here:

https://github.com/qgis/Quantum-GIS/tree/master/i18n

you find the translation files for all languages.

As you can see in the menu Help/ tab Translators of QGIS there has
already been some arab translation by Assem Kamal en Latif Jalil.

As the counter is on 1.8% I think you will be the new maintainer :-)

Either clone the repo and open qgis_ar.ts, or just download current
master version:

https://github.com/qgis/Quantum-GIS/raw/master/i18n/qgis_ar.ts

Then download Qt Linguist, open the ts file and start translating :-)
(you can read something about linguist here the docs about translating
the documentation:
http://docs.qgis.org/2.0/html/en/docs/documentation_guidelines/do_translations.html#translation-in-qt-linguist
)

If you have translated a portion, either sent it to Werner (or do a pull
request via Github if you are into that).

If you want to see how it looks like in QGIS, create a qgis_ar.qm file
via File/Release in Linguist. Then you can just place that qm file in
your installed qgis and see how that looks like.

Hope this is enough to start :-)

Feel free to ask questions

Regards,

Richard Duivenvoorde

 above)

Display rasters (original and imported) and vector in QGIS.

The original raster does not have CRS. You have probably set Monte
Mario / Italy zone 1
+proj=tmerc +lat_0=0 +lon_0=9 +k=0.9996 +x_0=150 +y_0=0
+ellps=intl +towgs84=-104.1,-49.1,-9.9,0.971,-2.917,0.714,-11.68
+units=m +no_defs?

Results: the original raster and the derived vector align perfectly, the
 imported
raster shows shifts while zooming in and out. See attached screenshots as an
 example.

Additionally, in qgis-dev I get errors querying the raster: 168 bytes
 expected but
320 byte were read from qgis.d.rast

There was a bug, the extent was not printed with sufficient precision.
The problem was not in querying but in rendering. It was causing the
error message above, but most probably also the shift. It should be
fixed in d36cd9a, please test.

Radim

Tested on 3 different machines (Debian Unstable, Ubuntu, Windows).

 Any hint?

 All the best.

a 1-minute google search with keywords fedora building qgis leads to
this howto

http://www.surfaces.co.il/?p=340

Although it is slightly outdated, it suggests you install the
sip-devel package, which you probably have not installed yet.

Please try searching before posting multiple emails to lists.

2012-08-24 Thread ludo
Hi all

I try to start the developpement for a custom application with qgis, so I try
simple things like add a vector layer but I have some problems. In a python
console when I try to do something like that :

 core.QgsApplication.setPrefixPath('/usr',True)
 core.QgsApplication.initQgis()
 l = core.QgsVectorLayer('/home/ludo/data/test.shp', 'test', 'ogr')
 l.isValid()

I always have a False result

But if I try in the python console of qgis :

 l = QgsVectorLayer('/home/ludo/data/test.shp', 'test', 'ogr')
 l.isValid()

The result is True

Is someone have an idea ? Are there any other documentation that
http://qgis.org/pyqgis-cookbook/

Thanks a lot
