Again: Can't login to Qmailadmin webpage as postmaster

2001-07-13 Thread Wojtek

Hi,

I have a problem with qmail, similar one was sent to the list, but I
could not find the answer in the archives.
Does anyone know what to do ?

W.

Problem is:

"Hi all,
I am running qmail-1.03+patches-12 on a RH6.2 system and have
suddenly
began to have a problem with the qmailadmin page. I can't seem to login
as
postmaster to either of the domains I administer. I am using the same
password that I use with postmaster to check the mail which works
fine. The error I keep getting is "Invalid Login." I was also wondering
if
there was a log file that I could look at that would tell me what the
reason is that I keep getting this error.
Thanks in advance,
David Litke"

It is very good. We give all of our webhosting clients access to it, and we
have never received one complaint.

How about running ~vpopmail/bin/vpasswd?

  ~vpopmail/bin/vpasswd [EMAIL PROTECTED] newpass

You do not want to edit ~vpopmail/domains/default.com/vpasswd file directly.

2001-06-03 Thread Zak Thompson

Hey guys/gals I'm currently running a Cobalt Raq4 and not having to much of
luck running qmailadmin if i just run qmailadmin from a cgi-bin i get all
sorts of ASCII characters on the screen. If i rename it to a .cgi i get
CGIWrap Error: Execution of this script not permitted, Execution of
(vpopmail) is not permitted for the following reason: User not Privileged
Any ideas? And the times that i didn't get the error i enter postmaster, a
domainname, and the password and I get a method POST not allowed for this
URL. Any ideas or howto's to get this working?

Thanks!

Do the following: (I don't know if its the best choice, but worked for me)

Create/edit the file ~vpopmail/etc/inc_deps and put this:
-I- -I/usr/vpopmail/include

The same with ~vpopmail/etc/lib_deps:
-L/usr/vpopmail/lib -lvpopmail -L/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient

Issue these commands:

./configure --enable-cgibindir=YOUR_HTTPD_CGI_BIN_FULL_PATH --enable-vpopuse
r=YOUR_VPOPMAILUSER --enable-autoresponder-bin=FULL_PATH_TO_AUTORESPONDER --
enable-vpopmaildir=THE_ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_VPOPMAILUSER_HOME_DIR

make clean
make
su
make install-strip

qmailadmin compile question

Having trouble setting up qmailadmin on a redhat 7 machine.

So far I've got qmail, vpopmail, autoresponder, ezmlm all installed and
working.

When I go to compile I get lots of "undefined reference" warnings and the
compile craps out with a couple of errors. I've attached a copy of the
compile output hoping that someone will be able to get me going in the
right direction to get this thing running.

I'm working on this with a friend so if you have a good idea for us could

read the man pages and install notes. When you compiled qmailadmin you
included flaggs to support autoresponder and ezmlm as for [EMAIL PROTECTED]
your stuck like chuck there unless you do not want to support virtual hosts.

Small problem with graphics and qmailadmin

Just a little problem relating to graphics and qmailadmin.
After adding a domain, qmailadmin no longer displays any graphics with

Qmailadmin still works fine with all domains, just the graphics don't

So is it possible (or dangerous) to reinstall qmailadmin to try and
resolve the problem?
Any other suggestions?

OT Can't login to Qmailadmin webpage as postmaster

2001-02-06 Thread David Litke

Hi all,
I am running qmail-1.03+patches-12 on a RH6.2 system and have suddenly
began to have a problem with the qmailadmin page. I can't seem to login as
postmaster to either of the domains I administer. I am using the same
password that I use with postmaster to check the mail which works
fine. The error I keep getting is "Invalid Login." I was also wondering if
there was a log file that I could look at that would tell me what the
reason is that I keep getting this error.
Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure where you got that idea, sqwebmail is
developed with the Courier mail server and it
happens to support the vpopmail vchkpw authentication
program for those of us using vpopmail, then it just
reads Maildir's. Did you mean qmailadmin maybe?
That is only used for vpopmail.

Qmailadmin is a tool for managing a "vpopmail" setup. If you don't have
vpopmail, it won't really do anything for you. Qmailadmin really should
be called "Vpopmailadmin" or something. If you do have vpopmail, the
"postmaster" account/password it's asking for is the account that you set
up to be the "owner" of the virtual domain you are trying to manage.

it's perfect but, I would like to know how can I get the emails sent to this
users(xxx, yyy) if they aren't users from the system(they are only users for
email) ? I tried to type this users and his password through a POP conection
but, the qmail didn't accepted the pop connetion for get this users emails.

qmailadmin add pop-account failure

I use qmailadmin-0.39 and vpopmail-4.9.6
If you push the add button in add pop account with empty fields i get 2
situations.

First after push the add button vpasswd for that domain is cleared, 0
bytes cdb files still ok.

Second a entry in vpasswd is add with no popaccount and username
information in it

vpasswd:
:2sLuN/OVWa6pw:1:0::/home/vpopmail/domains/leeflang-it.nl/:NOQUOTA

This entry can't deleted by qmailadmin, only just by hand.

A while ago I ran into a very similar problem that was related to using
qmailadmin from a box running a particular version of Internet Exploder.
It would generate Internal Server Errors when trying to add POP users.
If you are using IE, try Netscape as a test.

you can get the autoresponder from the same place you got qmailadmin

it with a configure option - see ./configure --help
btw. this is a question for the qmailadmin list

I was under the impression that you could not. The install documentation
for the current release version says something to the effect of "If you
don't have ezmlm and autoresponder, stop and go get them." I have found
that you can get around it by specifying the path of both as
/usr/local/bin with the configure options though.

Qmailadmin with /etc/passwd domain

2000-09-15 Thread Mike Hodson

Is it possible to use qmailadmin on a 'default' domain of /etc/passwd
authenticated users? Currently I provide shells to various users, and they
all need pop3 email access. However, I also want to use qmailadmin to
configure and set-up ezmlm on that same host (mystica.cx) as well as
ezmlm/vpopmail on sub-hosts and different domains entirely
(host2.mystica.cx, some.other.com)

If this can work, please let me know how.
If not, then what are other options?

Thanks
Mike

vpopmail/qmailadmin with fetchmail and maildirsmtp: where to start?

2000-07-18 Thread michael . renner

Hello,
I run a small internal network. All mails for the
employees are transfered through an isdn dial-up
line. I use fetchmail, qmail therefor, mails are
sent by using maildirsmtp.
Every mail-user needs an own account on this
linux router, which is not needful for the normal
work.

Now I installed vpopmail and qmailadmin to
change this, but I dont know where to start!

How do I have to configure fetchmail to transfer
the mails not to the system users (I fetch mails from a
multidrop mailbox with pop3)?
What else do I have to change? And how should I
handle these users, which still needs a
user account on this router/gateway/mailer as
well as a mailaccount?

Thanks in advance for hints and pointers to the
documentation.

However, I entered from other ISP, with

 continues to occurr.
 2. QMailAdmin: for 10, 20, 50 users, I think
QMailAdmin is very nice. However, I already
have more than 600 users, and when I enter
with postmaster, to administer the email accounts,
I have to spent more than FIVE minutes, using
Netscape. I'm using the "graphical interface" from
 lynx, cause performance !!!
Is there a way to change the HTML skeleton pages

the access may be faster than.
 2. QMailAdmin II: I created some users (+/- 103 users)
into a domain. All Maildir folders was created into
.../domains/fes.br/ (fes.br is my domain). After these 103,
folders like 0/, 1/, ... was created automatically by QMail.
 At this point, no problems!
However, if one of these new users created into these folders
try to use QMailAdmin to change password, the system arises
an exception talking about "There already is a user logged with
postmaster" (something like this) and the new doesnt get to
change your password. I have to change password user per
 user, with postmaster account.
The major users were created with QMailAdmin and some with
vadduser. Both users arises the exception.
The strange is: the first users created get to change password
 into Web QMailAdmin...

1a) you probably want an additional line
:allow
in tcp.smtp
1b) you have compiled tcp.smtp into a CDB file using tcprules?
1c) you have told tcpserver to use this CDB via the -x switch?

Can't say anything to the other questions, as I don't use that tool.

vpopmail, qmailadmin, sqwebmail : documentation

2000-05-22 Thread Julien Marguet

I search a good documentation on vpopmail, qmailadmin and
sqwebmail.
I'm currently creating a mail server for an hospital in
France.
Qmail, Maildir and IMAP = are operating.
I would like to manage the server and I'd like to make an
interface for the client -- that's why I'd use theise
tools.

Hi Ken

I had three lines in the assign file, and a single period for the last line.
I had added single period's after each line. But the problem still remains.

Kapil

You probably don't have a ending line with a single period
 .

That is why qmail-newu is failing to compile. and without a
compiled assign file, qmail won't be able to find the virtual
domain directory to deliver it to.

dont' put periods at the end of each line.

If you want to try starting over, run ~vpopmail/bin/vdeldomain domain

start again by adding the domains with ~vpopmail/bin/vadddomain domain

help qmail+vpopmail+ezmlm+qmailadmin+sqwebmail

2000-05-06 Thread Kapil Nanda

The scenariois :
I have installed qmail1.03 on Mandrake Linux 6.0.
And the local domain is "velosmed.com" and the local accounts by creating actual
users on that system works. I am able to send and receive
emails
Then I installed vpopmail from www.inter7.com; then ezmlm ; and qmailadmin
from www.inter7.com and finally installed
sqwebmail on that system.

Now the problem is that,
when I create an virtual domain on that system by
using vpopmail :
/home/vpopmail/bin/vadddomainintranet.velosmed.com
password
it gives me "qmail-newu" error : fatal bad format
in users/assign
and I when I try to access that account using the
outlook express, it gives me authentication error, says bad password when the
password is correct.
however I am able to create the accounts using the
qmailadmin, and access that accounts using sqwebmail but the mail is not coming.

If someone sends the mail to that virtually created
accounts, the error comes that there is no mailbox by that name.

RE: Cannot creating user account with an in qmailadmin

2000-01-21 Thread Dave Kitabjian

It's probably simply a problem with the shell's special treatment of .

I don't know how qmailadmin works, but we have a shell script for adding
user accounts. In such cases, we have to call the command similar to:

# create_user.sh f\b

That is, we quote the character, and everything works fine. It's possible
the qmailadmin would behave similarly.

never used qmailadmin, just use the shell.

to do this, create an alias like this :

useradd fb
passwd fb (set the passwd)
echo [EMAIL PROTECTED] /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-fb

get your user to check mail on fb account,
users can email f[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Qmail-Vpopmail-Qmailadmin -------- Alias problem

2000-01-19 Thread john

I am using Qmail with Vpopmail Qmail admin (Maildir) format. I recently
tried using the alias for a virtual domain. I am using a single account in
the virtual domain and multiple aliases under this account. When I send a
mail it goes and sits in the alias maildir but unfortunately I am unable to
retrieve the mails.

When I check for mails it says invalid password. I am not sure what would be
the password to be used as I am not setting any password in the alias. I
just create the differnet alias for the same popaccount.

Anyone who knows kindly let me know how to go about it. I am infact using %
symbol also. It is working fine for individual accounts in the virtual
domain but for alias I am unable to retrieve the mails.

qmailadmin/vpopmail strange behaviour

i setup qmail with qmailadmin/vpopmail version 0.25/3.4.10
in a test config i setup 2 virt domains.
via qmailadmin i can manage users/lists etc, now i migrate about 300
users with vadduser with a little script.
I see difference in vpasswd between users created with vadduser an with
qmailadmin, quota and NOLOGIN, why???
second after i add the users and add som responders and forwards i
cannot logon with a user account in qmailadmin, error-response 'bad
file'. pop3 validation is ok with this user
last, with 300 users it takes a few, 10-20 seconds, before the main-menu
is displayed in the browser, how about 1000 users.
Is this respons-delay normal ???

Add the main domain as a virtual, but make sure it's not listed in
virtualdomains. Then make QMAIL/mailboxes/users a symlink to a
virtual domain inside QMAIL/mailboxes/domains.

.qmailadmin-limits problem

1999-08-17 Thread Martin Paulucci

Hi everyone,

I finally configured the qmailadmin + qmail and everythings seems to be
working well.
I only have 2 problems now:

1) the .qmailadmin-limits file works, but for example, if you erase one
alias (and you previously reached the max # of aliases allowed) so you
would have 1 free to add, it still says that the max # was reached, even
if you have one alias available.

2) As ken said, no implementation of support for local users is still
not done in qmailadmin, anybody resolved this?

3) When creating a new user with the vchkpw command "vadduser" for the
local domain, it doesn't create the file .qmail (containing:
"./Maildir/") so the mail is not delivered to that account, how can I
fix this?. I'm using Solaris 2.6...any idea?.

Thanks 4 everything!.

Martin.
