Again: Can't login to Qmailadmin webpage as postmaster
Hi, I have a problem with qmail, similar one was sent to the list, but I could not find the answer in the archives. Does anyone know what to do ? W. Problem is: "Hi all, I am running qmail-1.03+patches-12 on a RH6.2 system and have suddenly began to have a problem with the qmailadmin page. I can't seem to login as postmaster to either of the domains I administer. I am using the same password that I use with postmaster to check the mail which works fine. The error I keep getting is "Invalid Login." I was also wondering if there was a log file that I could look at that would tell me what the reason is that I keep getting this error. Thanks in advance, David Litke"

Hey guys/gals I'm currently running a Cobalt Raq4 and not having to much of luck running qmailadmin if i just run qmailadmin from a cgi-bin i get all sorts of ASCII characters on the screen. If i rename it to a .cgi i get CGIWrap Error: Execution of this script not permitted, Execution of (vpopmail) is not permitted for the following reason: User not Privileged Any ideas? And the times that i didn't get the error i enter postmaster, a domainname, and the password and I get a method POST not allowed for this URL. Any ideas or howto's to get this working? qmailadmin master passwd?
Hello All, How does one change the master password on qmail-admin (the web based interface for vpopmail)? I don't find any man pages for vpopmail? I'm running qmailadmin-0.26c and vpopmail-3.4.11 if that helps at all? Also, how difficult is it to upgrade to the latest versions of these two packages w/out breaking anything which is currently running well? -Bill

Having trouble setting up qmailadmin on a redhat 7 machine. So far I've got qmail, vpopmail, autoresponder, ezmlm all installed and working. I've attached a copy of the compile output hoping that someone will be able to get me going in the right direction to get this thing running. If you don't have vpopmail, it won't really do anything for you. Qmailadmin really should be called "Vpopmailadmin" or something. If you do have vpopmail, the "postmaster" account/password it's asking for is the account that you set up to be the "owner" of the virtual domain you are trying to manage. New Qmailadmin like web application
Hi guys, I've developed a qmailadmin like web application, and I'd like you to give your opinion about it. It's not so powerful as qmailadmin yet, but I'll keep improving it some time more. You can find some screenshots and download link at http://vmailadmin.sourceforge.net I'll be very pleased if some of you waste some time with it. []s Davi
Qmailadmin with /etc/passwd domain
Is it possible to use qmailadmin on a 'default' domain of /etc/passwd authenticated users? Currently I provide shells to various users, and they all need pop3 email access. However, I also want to use qmailadmin to configure and set-up ezmlm on that same host (mystica.cx) as well as ezmlm/vpopmail on sub-hosts and different domains entirely (host2.mystica.cx, some.other.com) If this can work, please let me know how. If not, then what are other options? Thanks Mike

Re: QmailAdmin: Invalid Login
Hi I had this problem and the solution was to put the option --enable-vpopuser=vpopmail in the ./config phase of the installation, where vpopmail is the user belonging to vchkpw group previously created. qmailadmin passwords
Has anyone had a similar problem with qmailadmin vpopmail? I am unable to change the pop3 account passwords via the web interface. I get the message 'Failed to change password' All the permisions ownerships on the qmailadmin cgi seem correct as everything else works fine. I can change the passwords manually using vpasswd, so I don't think the problem lies there. Any ideas? Iain Smith [EMAIL PROTECTED]
vpopmail/qmailadmin with fetchmail and maildirsmtp: where to start?
Hello, I run a small internal network. All mails for the employees are transfered through an isdn dial-up line. I use fetchmail, qmail therefor, mails are sent by using maildirsmtp. Every mail-user needs an own account on this linux router, which is not needful for the normal work. Now I installed vpopmail and qmailadmin to change this, but I dont know where to start! How do I have to configure fetchmail to transfer the mails not to the system users (I fetch mails from a multidrop mailbox with pop3)? What else do I have to change? And how should I handle these users, which still needs a user account on this router/gateway/mailer as well as a mailaccount? RE: Cannot creating user account with an in qmailadmin
It's probably simply a problem with the shell's special treatment of . I don't know how qmailadmin works, but we have a shell script for adding user accounts. In such cases, we have to call the command similar to: # create_user.sh f\b That is, we quote the character, and everything works fine. It's possible the qmailadmin would behave similarly. Qmail-Vpopmail-Qmailadmin -------- Alias problem
I am using Qmail with Vpopmail Qmail admin (Maildir) format. I recently tried using the alias for a virtual domain. I am using a single account in the virtual domain and multiple aliases under this account. When I send a mail it goes and sits in the alias maildir but unfortunately I am unable to retrieve the mails. When I check for mails it says invalid password. I am not sure what would be the password to be used as I am not setting any password in the alias. I just create the differnet alias for the same popaccount. Anyone who knows kindly let me know how to go about it. I am infact using % symbol also. It is working fine for individual accounts in the virtual domain but for alias I am unable to retrieve the mails. Regards John Francis
qmailadmin/vpopmail strange behaviour
i setup qmail with qmailadmin/vpopmail version 0.25/3.4.10 in a test config i setup 2 virt domains. via qmailadmin i can manage users/lists etc, now i migrate about 300 users with vadduser with a little script. I see difference in vpasswd between users created with vadduser an with qmailadmin, quota and NOLOGIN, why??? second after i add the users and add som responders and forwards i cannot logon with a user account in qmailadmin, error-response 'bad file'. pop3 validation is ok with this user last, with 300 users it takes a few, 10-20 seconds, before the main-menu is displayed in the browser, how about 1000 users. Howto -Qmailadmin - for default domain and not for virtual domain
I want to know how to administer web based qmail using Qmailadmin from Inter 7 for the default domain and not for the virtual domain. I need to addusers, delete users and also the users should be able to change their passwords Your help would be much appreciated
Re: Howto -Qmailadmin - for default domain and not for virtualdomain
Add the main domain as a virtual, but make sure it's not listed in virtualdomains. Then make QMAIL/mailboxes/users a symlink to a virtual domain inside QMAIL/mailboxes/domains. .qmailadmin-limits problem
Hi everyone, I finally configured the qmailadmin + qmail and everythings seems to be working well. I only have 2 problems now: 1) the .qmailadmin-limits file works, but for example, if you erase one alias (and you previously reached the max # of aliases allowed) so you would have 1 free to add, it still says that the max # was reached, even if you have one alias available. 2) As ken said, no implementation of support for local users is still not done in qmailadmin, anybody resolved this? 3) When creating a new user with the vchkpw command "vadduser" for the local domain, it doesn't create the file .qmail (containing: "./Maildir/") so the mail is not delivered to that account, how can I fix this?. I'm using Solaris 2.6...any idea?. Thanks 4 everything!. Martin.
