DAN I HAD MY FIRST CYSTOSCOPE ON MY BLADDER YESTERDAY AFTER SUFFERING CHILLS AND MY CATHETER STOPPING UP EVERY 3 TO 7 DAYS. I HAD A BLADDER STONE THE DIAMETER OF A QUARTER! DR. BROKE IT UP AND SUCTIONED IT OUT - NO PROBLEM WITH CHILLS TODAY. I ASSUME MY CATHER RUBBED THE STONE WHICH RUBBED MY BLADDER CAUSING PAIN. After suffering through bactrum and cranberry juice is it finally getting better. Over the past 2 years I have had 7 rounds of botox injections in both legs. The first 2 were very painful and I wore dynasplints on both legs and the splints were nothing but torture. I changed doctors and he also changed my medications that was helping my pain so I agreed to attempt Botox again. I was wearing lidocaide patches on my legs for pain control and it did seem to help, so when he did the botox injection he added lidocaine . He was concerned about my legs because he couldn't get any reaction on the emg, so he was having trouble finding active nerve activity. The last session I went in he said he wanted to take a pen and make points where I told him I hurt and he would shoot deep trigger points. He injected very deep areas. I was told I didn't want to see the needle. I had no relief at all from that session. I am very glad I tried , botox because I did get some relieve at times, will I go through it again, I don't think so. When I was in the hospital they put pneumatic compression boots on me that felt like I was getting a gentle massage. For the first time, it made my legs feel soft and removed pain, but the bummer is they cost on the low end $800 neither Medicare or Medicaid pays for it. I have read where it says Medicare will, but 2 representatives says no. I have located where , it should have been approved 2001, so I am not through discussing it. If I decide to buy it I will go directly yo the company and not the area corner store to cut out the middle man. Kathy in Mississippi -- It's not the fall that hurts. Nicole,I believe in my heart that no doctor can accurately predict when your body is going to change, but I do know what you are going through. Well, not exactly, but in a roundabout way. This past August was my six-year anniversary and I have suddenly gained a lot of weight. I also did go through a period where I was having frequent accidents and my spasms have increased severely. And this was all before my sixth anniversary. All you can do is take it one day at a time and go with the flow because I believe everybodys body responds differently.Nyree- Original Message - From: Nichole Rohling To: QUADLIST ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 1:02 PM Subject: [QUAD-L] Re: BODY CHANGING 6 YRS POST I UNDERSTAND. So far I have tried a permobile and an Invacare storm. I like both of them, but my vendor told me that for permobiles are sometimes not as reliable as Invacare. I've had nothing but good luck with my Quikies, they are fast and my first one is now my back-up after 8 years of hard service which included 4 years of college. I've gotten 3 yrs out of 1 set of batteries and that was while going to school 4 days per week. That said, if you have good support and service for Invacare products in your area, it might be a good idea to check out the quality of support for other manufactures chairs. Not all areas are equal. DMEs are locked in to sales contracts with manufacturers for better discounts based on total dollar sales in various quarters. So the more Invacares ordered the better the discount to the DME. Same could be said about the Permobile. Also, some DME will direct their employees to lean customers towards the specials. Invacare doesn't design everything they sell. So much of their equipment comes from China and then passes thru their doors for labels and manuals. You also have to remember that if you do need a part, where are you going to get it from and will it be quick shipped. You might also pose a written question to Contact Us at Permobile's website without revealing your DME and see what Permobile has to say. Hey Stunman, My first chair was a quickie and had it 5 years with only the switch from my LaBac go out because I broke it actually. I've never changed the batterries in 5 years and it's slower now but still going but a very solid chair the only thing that I didn't like was I had a quickie P320 and it has absolutely no suspension which wore you out during the day but all in all a great chair.
