Re: [QUAD-L] Funny or bad taste
They originated in Greece where drama started a very long time ago. Masks were used in almost every play back then to emphasize the face since the theatres were so big and outdoors some people way in the back might not have been able to see the actors face. Also the mask helped show the characters emotion (there were several emotions but the two most general were happy and sad) Over time the sad looking mask was used to signify drama and the happy looking mask symbolized comedy Eric W Rudd [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] ; quad-list@eskimo.com Sent: Friday, April 04, 2008 12:07 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] Funny or bad taste Upon entering a Arts theater you will notice the two faces.
