That is because of a bug in SEAbios.if you need TPM, you should use a payload
like Grub.

If so, is there anything i can do about it?

Is anyone using AEM on a x230 Thinkpad?

Yes exactly, he wanted me to install it in OEM mode like it it possible with

Yes, that was the plan, using the HDD for things like Films , SafeVault and so
on :).However, i dont know yet how easy /complicated it is under qubes to
specify the storage place etc of the different vms( is it done the way its done
in "normal" linux with partitions-Setup and fstab?)

" If you're still worried about this type of attack, an USB
qube used with external USB WiFi/Ethernet adapters might be the best
option (although a bit bulky). "

Thats in fact my current setup.I know i should not be possible to exploit it
via wireless connection, however..well the thing with paranoia is, youre always
thinking in the back of your head "as far as we know." ;-D

Anyway, thanks again for answering my questions, i think i will test qubes 4.0

So the x1 carbon should be the faster one, however, only if im not using to
much VMs (cant say i had this problem so far, i normally dont use more than
aprox. 7-10 vms)

On one handy, i obviously would be happy not to have to transfer my qubes os to
the x230, reconfigure AEM etc etc, and i want to use the faster Option. On the
other hand i dont think there is a Wifi card available for my the x1 carbon
without the Intel Remote Administration Funktion, is it?

Is the a posibility to make the X1 c even faster? Someone mentioned i should
disable Hyper Threading Technology in the BIOS, but i cant see wy this would be
an advantage?

[qubes-users] Cant get the Http-filtering proxy to work

2017-07-27 Thread Finsh
Hey Guys,

im trying to get a http-filtering proxy in a firewall vm to work for my
Email-appvm.
The reason is im using a google-mail account, so i cant use the normal
firewall resolving to ipadresses.

I followed the tutorial to the letter, and as far as i can tell, everything
worked fine, the script can properly recognize the rule files,
when i run " sudo /rw/config/tinyproxy/proxyctl.py show " everything is as
expected.
Name IP Interface Proxy_Pid
privatmail 10.137.6.19 vif10.0 1265

However, when i configure thunderbird to use the firewallvm proxy settings, the
complete internet connection is blocked.

I set the Thunderbird-networksettings like so:

Port 8100 Http-proxy: 10.137.5.1 (which is the gateway of the firewall-vm)

the firewall-rules of the email-vm i set to "deny network access except..." and
unchecked "allow ICMP traffic" and "allow DNS queries"

i tried everything i could think of, but just couldnt get it to work :(.

Help is much appreciated

cheers.

[qubes-users] Re: Ubdate Electrum offline-wallet

2017-06-16 Thread Finsh
Im sorry, im a bit nervous(i need to pay my VPN untill tomorrow)

i only run the new version in the template with /.electrum(because its not
installed) the installed version however from debain is 2.7.9, which has a bug
so i cant use it as an offlinewallet.
I experimented a little in the meantime.i uninstalled the btc client,
reinstalled it in a regulär debian-8 template, and made a appwm for the wallet
whit sys-whonix as netvm.
i restored the old wallet(the offline seed) but the btc are gone? i could see
them on the online/whatching olny wallet.
does this mean the btc are gone?!

[qubes-users] Ubdate Electrum offline-wallet

2017-06-13 Thread Finsh
Hello Guys,

i made a split bitcoinwallet following the Tutorial in the Qubes OS to the
letter.Unfortunately, i cant spent bitcoins, because when im trying to sign the
transaction, the following error appears: "Server did not answer" i already
found out, its a bug in the electrumversion(2.7.9), and a update of the wallet
should solve the problem.

so, i tried the following commands:

echo deb http://http.debian.net/debian jessie-backports main >
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/jessie-backports.list <-only works in the rootshell, if
i run it with sudo, it still says permission denied.

apt-get update

apt-get -t jessie-backports electrum

here i get the error "cant find command line t in [-t] how is this possible,
the command -t is listetd in the man page (--target)

also, if i get the update to work and i have the new version, do i have to
restore the wallet? how would that be possible with an offline-wallet?
seed, masterkey etc is backuped, of course.

help is much appreciated,
greetings from Germany

[qubes-users] Maccchanger, debian9 template, Screensave

2017-05-27 Thread Finsh
Hello,
ive installed Qubes now on my Lenovo X1C, and so far, im really happy with it.
But of course, i do have some minor issues.

1: Maccchanger.

I wanted to install the Macchanger, and followed closely the Instructions.
It all worked fine, the service is up, but its not changing the actual
Macadress.
My Guess is, its not possible with the wifimodule of Lenovo?
So i tried to use the debian9 template ive installed instead, but i cant get an
internetconnection with it, maybe debian is missing the hardware-driver?
if so, how do i get and install it in the terminal?(im sry, im pretty new to
linux)
I know it works with the method using the Networkmanager, since if done it that
way with this very same model under Ubuntu with a friends Computer.

2. Thunderbird/G-chrome.

When im clicking on a link in thunderbird, it is opening it in Google chrome?
I dont know how this is possible, i didnt add Google chrome to the selected
Applications in this particular VM (i only use non-OSS software in the
"untrusted" vm)

3. Eyecandy

Is there a possibility to customize the Xscreensaver wallpaper? it looks really
ugly.

hellp is much appreciated,
