I didn't realize that I was using the sys-firewall terminal. That happens
to be color-coded the same as my personal VM in the VM Manager, so I guess
I picked the wrong one. Happens the same way in the other VM though.
Thanks for pointing me to that documentation! I'll try it out this weekend
and let you know how it goes.

Yes, this is a standard DVD, definitely not a BluRay disc. I've tried it

Yes, somewhat, but I found #7 on this page more helpful. I've almost
gotten everything configured the way I want, but one thing still puzzles
me. I used "sudo dnf remove qubes-template-fedora-23" from the terminal
(mistakenly did this before deleting/switching all app VMs that depended on
it), but apparently that didn't completely remove fedora-23 template VM
because even after several restarts the fedora-23 template VM is still
showing up in the Qubes VM Manager. How can I get rid of it for good?

[qubes-users] How to delete or upgrade app VMs?

2018-02-20 Thread Kyle Breneman
I'm running Qubes 3.2. I have the default Fedora 23 template VM, and the
default app VMs built from it, but I also installed a Fedora 26 template
VM. Now I want to delete or upgrade my Fedora 23 app VMs, but I cannot
figure out how to do this. The "Delete VM" menu option in the Qubes VM
Manager always seems to be grayed-out. How can I either delete these app
VMs based on Fedora 23, or switch them over to my Fedora 26 template?

Re: [qubes-users] Help verifying install files: how to verify the Release 3 Signing Key?

2018-01-06 Thread Kyle Breneman

After you import both the master and signing keys, you can check them with
'gpg --check-sigs' which should have output like this:
pub rsa4096 2017-03-06 [SC]
  5817A43B283DE5A9181A522E1848792F9E2795E9
uid [ unknown] Qubes OS Release 4 Signing Key
sig!31848792F9E2795E9 2017-03-06 Qubes OS Release 4 Signing Key
sig! DDFA1A3E36879494 2017-03-08 Qubes Master Signing Key

(I have the Qubes 4 key but its otherwise the same.)

This lists the Qubes master key under the uid for the Qubes release key,
showing the release key has been signed by the master. The exclamation mark
after "sig" means the signature has been verified as good.

Dear Chris,

Thanks very much for your patient help with this! I was able to verify
all keys and signatures and successfully installed Qubes 3.2 over the
holidays.
