Tim, I measured the head tube at approx 21.1 cm from top to bottom. You asked about ride compared to Sam Hillborne. I rode a Sam until about 2012ish, so been awhile and feel of the Sam has faded a little. In my opinion, the Roadeo has the standard balanced feel of a Rivendell. It does feel more lively than the sam and I can get going faster. That is all I have in comparison. Paul. Thanks for sharing photos. I didn’t go with the P45s in case I needed to do some bending. John G. The tires are 700x32 and def the max size with fenders. I don’t like a large front bag except for commuting, so my plan is a large rear bag and small front bag. I can fit most everything I would need to have while riding in the front with a small bag. Anything I need while stopped can fit in the back no problem. Re: [RBW] Re: FS: Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen 65cm (MUSA), f//f/h
I measured the Stack and Reach. I had to look how how to do it. This is how I did it to make sure on same page. For Stack, I measured from floor to top of center of headtube. Then measured from floor to center of bottom bracket. I then subtracted these two numbers. For Reach, with bike against a wall, I measured from center of top of headtube to the rear of the frame to the wall. I then measured from the center of bottom bracket to the rear of the wall. I subtracted these measurements. I used a level to make sure the proper length because the top tube has a little but of slope. For stack, I measured 26.25 inches or 66.75 cm. For reach I measured 14.5 inches or 36.83 cm. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] FS: Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen 65cm (MUSA), f//f/h
Good Evening Bunch, Life happens and I have to sell my Homer. I planned on keeping for a long time, but even cash at times is more important when there are higher priorities. I am selling frame, fork, and headset. The headset is FSA. It is English blue with a single top tube. It was semi custom when I got it. The seat tube is 65cm and I am measuring the top tube center to center at 23 inches or 58cm. The chain stay length is 49cm. So a little different than the standard MUSA Homer geometry. The frame is in excellent. I only can see or know if one little mark on the top tube that is barely noticeable and shown with pictures. The dropouts of course has marks from the QRs. Price is $1,800 shipped CONUS. Please let me know if you have any questions or want to see a picture of something specific. [RBW] Re: Homer Holden question
It is a mixed bag as there are exceptions to what sizes have a double top tube. I have a 65cm A. Homer Hilsen (MUSA) that is a single top tube. I did not request a single top tube, as I purhcased it from Rivendell after it was built. I use the Nitto NTC-DX in 70cm reach with my towel rock on an MUSA Homer. Important to know it is an MUSA Homer because the top tube is not as long as the MIT Homer, so the reach is not as long as the MIT homer. [RBW] Re: New Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen (MUSA Type) Report
John, I see fenders happening in a little. I agree the bike would look better with them. The past few rides, dirt is accumulating and I know fenders would block the dirt. I have to dig up my patience and a few hours to put them on. I got the hang of building up bikes and did not create any instant beasuage with this build. Fenders on the other hand are my arch nemesis. Brynnar. I put on the Nitto NTC-DX to help know the specific stem. The reach is 60cm. I have not had any issues with flex. I am not sure if I can attribute it to the stem. I haven’t ridden any other bars with this stem or other stems with the bars so I don’t have a comparison or reference point. I generally don’t lean hard on the bars, so not sure if that is a factor. Good luck finding the right combo with the towel rack.
