The quick start guide lists a config where the master is port 1 and the slave 
is port 7. I believe port 7 is called the sub-master in this config. With only

Well after just a little over 2 hours on hold I did get through to a very
understanding tech support rep. I explained the issue and that the only LED
on the board that was on was the D21 (Remote Pwr). Today I learned that
this is powered by the Hub. Thus the PSB is indeed dead. I was given a
choice of either a replacement PSB or an entirely new inverter. Apparently
there has been an ongoing issue with the power supply boards lately and in
order to figure out why the engineering department would like to get the
entire unit returned for testing purposes. So for the sake of all of us out
in the field I agreed to replace the entire inverter in hopes that this
problem can be eliminated. Thanks for all your input and now we have yet
another tool in our "mental" toolbag.

contact outback and what ever you do do NOT leave your number for a call

 Just spit-balling here:  is the secondary inverter asleep (hate the
 master/slave terminology…)?  Try changing power save settings to make sure
 the secondary is awake and see if that changes the situation.  Seems
 unlikely this will solve the problem, but it may provide some kind of clue.



 Also, did you try swapping primary and secondary?  Run with secondary
 alone as primary?

The system is critical to a farm watering operation so I wasn't able to
shut it down to try and swap the port 1 inverter with the port 2 inverter.
As for changing the power save settings, that is what alerted me to the
issue. Under no circumstance can you see a port 2 via the Mate. That's what
had me looking at the hub itself and that's when I noticed that the LED on
port 2 wasn't lighting up as the hub scrolled/polled by.

It sounds like a out of the box board failure, even if the slave is in
standby it is connected to the hub and you see it, if you swapped the
cable, port location, its time to talk to OB tech and get a board sent out,

the secondary is awake and see if that changes the situation.  Seems
unlikely this will solve the problem, but it may provide some kind of clue.



Also, did you try swapping primary and secondary?  Run with secondary alone
as primary?

Sounds like a failed power supply board Outback part SPARE-215. If the unit is 
under warranty you should be able to get a replacement through OB tech support.
