[rt-users] Requester's manager into custom field

2014-10-16 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

I've been asked to produce RT reports/Dashboards/ticket digests for
department heads. I think the easiest way for this is to set the AdminCC
for a ticket to the requester's manager. We have managers defined in AD so
this should be achievable via a scrip?

How would I progress this forward?

Thanks.

That's just going to list the tickets with Queue Name and the Status.
If you click on Chart, in 4.2 the default is to group/count by Status,
you can further group by Queue and then save that and stick it on your
 dashboard.

[rt-users] Determine who resolved how many tickets

2013-11-22 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

I'm looking to baseline the performance of my team against the number of
tickets they have resolved in RT over a given time. To do this I export the
month's tickets from RT into Excel (queue, status=resolved and last updated
by)

I then use Excel to do a countif to produce my figures.

The problem is, I could really do with using a resolved by calculation,
rather then last updated by, as last updated by is not always the person
who initially resolved the ticket.

Any thoughts please?

Thanks.

[rt-users] Global RT at a Glance not taking effect

2013-08-29 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi all,

I've got an issue with RT at a glance global configuration not working. I
want only Dashboards to be visible on the homepage after a user logs in.

I've set the following in tools configuration Global RT at a Glance
RT at a glance body: Dasboards
RT at a glance: Summary: blank

When logging in as root this applies fine.
When logging in as any other users ( we use RT External Auth) it does not
apply.

I also tried setting:

Set ( $HomepageComponents, [qw(Dashboards)]); in RT_SiteConfig.pm
But that didn't work either.

Users can access Dashboards fine, so it doesn't appear to be a permissions
issue, i just want them only to be able to see their dashboards rather than
have to navigate to them.

Could anyone assist please? RT Version is 4.0.1, External Auth is version
0.12

Many thanks.

Do these users have their own homepage settings from previous
use/customization? You will need to reset that, or just clear their
homepage preferences in the Attributes table in the database.

No, they've never been able to set them no permissions to set preferences
was the error they got. How would I go about clearing the homepage
preferences anyway?

HomepageComponents doesn't forcibly turn off components in 4.0.
 It will in 4.2

With 4.0.1, you could be running into some bug (4.0.17 is current) but
start by resetting homepage settings for one of your external auth
users and seeing if that fixes it.

Homepages are also cached in the session, so you need to log in and
 out.

I've tried that, but will clear the mason cache/ reboot the server to see
if it has any effect.

[rt-users] RT 4.08 on Apache 2 won't load

to load. I've tried using all of the apache options on web_deployment on
the installation pages at bestpractical.com but with no luck.

using mod_fcgi and mod_fcgid I get 404 not found, with a corresponding log
entry in /var/log/httpd/error.log of:

File does not exist: /opt/rt4/sbin/rt-server.fcgi
The file does exist, and won't start manually even when invoked from sbin
with ./

Trying the mod_perl apache setup results in Apache failing to start:

Undefined subroutine main::. called. END failed-- call queue aborted.

Any ideas - this has got me totally stuck!

Hi,

The users names are not in use - searching for disabled users via the UI

not show up identical users either. Very strange.

[rt-users] emailing into queues

2010-06-11 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

Ive got a new install of 3.8.8 on Fedora 12, I have created queues as
described in the instructions, and have also added aliases for the queues,
along with re-building the aliases file with running newaliases. However I
cannot get emails into my RT queues.

Sendmail is running, and i can telnet to port 25 on my rt server. Emails
seem to go to the RT server - they don't get bounced but I have no idea
where they go!

Could anyone help please?

Thanks,

Guy.

[rt-users] Can't locate object error

2010-06-11 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

I have an install of RT 3.8.8 on Fedora 12 I have had a few issues, so far
resolved - until this one:

When replying to, or resolving a ticket, there is a bit of a delay and
then the following error:

Can't locate object method host via package URI::_generic at
/opt/rt3/bin/../lib/RT/Interface/Web.pm line 505.

I have no idea how to resolve this - it seems to be webserver based, as
the email message from the reply, resolve or comment goes through fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Guy Baxter.

[rt-users] 3.8.8 new install user creation error

2010-06-10 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

I have installed RT 3.8.8 on fedora 12.

I'm at the stage of adding users, i log in as root, go to users, create,
create a user with username of test, set new password to test, and also
verify it. When saving changes I get the following error:

User created
Please enter your current password. Password has not been set.
A password was not set, so user won't be able to login.

So then I enter test in current password box and save changes, but I am
unable to log in.

Log back in as root, fill in test user's current password as test, save
changes, still cannot log in.

Log back in as root, set new and verify password to test, save changes,
but get the following error:

Please enter your current password correctly. Password has not been set.

What is going on? Is this a bug?

Any help appreciated

Thanks.

[rt-users] 3.8.4 to 3.8.8 upgrade

2010-05-20 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

I am having a bit of trouble upgrading RT from 3.8.4 to 3.8.8

I installed 3.8.4 using yum - so it installed to /etc/rt3

Here's what I have done so far:

I downloaded the rt3.8.8 installer and extracted it
cd rt3.8.8
./configure --prefix=/etc/rt3
make upgrade
/etc/rt3/sbin/rt-setup-database --dba root --prompt-for-dba-password
--action upgrade
enter mysql password
enter RT version upgrading from: 3.8.4
apply all upgrades

error on RTAddressRegegexp option not being set in the config but applies
ok

Login to RT but it is still v 3.8.4

Setup: MacMini, Fedora 12, Apache 2.2, MySQL 5.1.

Could anyone help me please?

Regards,

Guy

[rt-users] RT 3.8.2 from 3.4.2

2009-12-01 Thread Guy Baxter
Hi,

We have a 6 year old install of RT 3.4.2 running on fedora core 2, I want
to update this to the newest version - 3.8.2. As we need to use RT most of
the time I am currently testing the new version on a different PC.
(intention is to schedule some downtime once my test version is working to
rebuild the original).

I have done a mysql dump, and imported it onto a new fresh build of fedora
10 with mysql 5 and apache 2, however if i do this, when browsing RT i get
logged out every 30 seconds or so. If i setup a new install without
importing the data this does not happen... very strange?

Also, I can't see how to setup RT to talk to my mailserver? I've found a
bit about /etc/aliases but can't see anywhere for it to point to the IP of
my mailserver? Does anyone have any ideas?

Any help appreciated,

Regards,

Guy.
