Hi, Simeon:

I use some vitamin C with calcium as a buffer with bioflavonoids, Alive
Vitamin C from berries, and regular vitamin C with bio - no buffer. i eat
about two small meals daily so I now take about 8000 mg of Vit C with each
of those two meals.
Supplement use needs to be customized for each individual and their life,
health history, family health history - it's not the one program for
everyone. I take a lot of supplements for health support: 400 IU's vit E
(mixed tocoph's and tocotr's) twice a day, 100 mg ubiquinol, 20 mg
resveratrol, B Complex 100, whole food B6, B12 and Folate (not Folic acid -
folate - the real stuff), Vit A (cod Liver Oil), Vit D 6 - 8000 daily,
prostate supoport, pycnogenol, lutein, zeaxanthan, asaxanthan, calcium,
magnesium, selenium, GTF chromium, whole food VM, chlorella, zeolite,
vitamin K, a cup of Flor*essence at retiring, creatine, silica, lithium
(once in a while), minerals, etc., I'm a 95% organic eater including wild
fish and natural grass fed meat and poultry - no GH or antibiotics. Pure
Spring water is another vitamin...
I know I've left some out which I'll get to later - I've got to teach this
morning.
Recently, my hair has turned from all gray to all blond about the color it
was when I was a kid of 10 - 12... I do take an HGH activator which I
attribute this change to. Yes - it's full head of blond hair - no
balding... Thank you God...

2010-01-12 Thread Dorothy Fitzpatrick
It is like I said before on occasion, everything in moderation, even the good
stuff! I know it can be very damaging to unbalance minerals which is why I
don't take seperate ones now, but I thought that vit C was ok because most of
us don't get nearly enough of it. I do know that since I have been giving
hubby vit c almost every day, he doesn't get the broken blood vessels in his
eye which he used to get on a regular basis every couple of months or less. I
think it has a job to do i.e. strengthening the walls of arteries and veins,
but maybe too much causes a problem in SOME people. We are all different, so
need different things, which is why the so called 'normal' range that doctors
use is largely irrelevant. dee

 Dear Steve,
We have evaluated High Dosage vitamin C INTENSIVELY, SINCE CIRCA 1975.
Although I have no way of disproving the allegations to which you refer.I
can not bring myself to even consider such claims to have actual merit. We
have, directly, prosecutedliterallyhundreds of evaluations (involving
almost 2000 people)involving vitamin C (in all of its various chemical
configurations)...All without a single DETECTABLE adverse agent of influence.
Although our studies were NOT double-blind in naturethe experimental
subjects were ALL subjected to BEFORE and AFTER- SYSTEMIC AND BLOOD
CHEMISTRY evaluated parameters. We never encountered a volunteer subject who
manifested ANY challenge or insult (except loose stools; if one considers
that adverse) from vitamin C dosages as high as 30 grams dailyover
periods of time as long as 4 months, continually. The only
detectable/measurable consequences presented were UNIVERSALLY positive.
However, there were, some! times, surprising conditions.although all were
positive in nature. e.g. We did encounter a number of individuals (sometimes
as high as 10% of the entire test group of 45 persons) who did not display
ANY measurable benefits until the dosage of vitamin C reached 10 grams daily.
The spectrum of beneficial responses were, sometimes, simply
breath-taking. In one limited study we compared the effects of saturated
solutions of vitamin C against a wide array of conventional antibiotics as
the principal address for deep penetrating wounds and major lacerations. Not
a single ONE of the antibiotics proved superior to the vitamin C..and a
majority (7 antibiotics) proved to be considerably less effective. Some
antibiotics proved no better than tap water.
I am not recommending that ANYONE take ANY AMOUNT of vitamin C---in ANY FORM.
These comments are merely a simple synopsis of our DIRECT RESEARCH
EXPERIENCES involving experimental volunteers.during the immediately-past
30+ years (a much longer period than we have been a chartered research
 foundation).
I have experienced a deep and direct relationship (principally a professional
one)with many facets of the conventional medical profession over the last 50
years. A majority of all these people proved to be well-intentioned,
professionally honest and for the most part---capable. I have witnessed what
I would characterize as ASTOUNDING.an almost total domination of both the
professional and economic parameters of the national medical arena (research
as well as the major elements of direct practice )by elements OUTSIDE the
physical practice of the art. I will not comment on what I believe the
complete nature of this influence to be.
However, one particularly vexing consequence of having a profit-oriented,
cartel-like, control over ANY human endeavor involving the general population
of a people is...that by definitionthe continued expansion of such
artificial constructs requires a dedication to net business Income.not
the health and vitality of the general population.except as an accidental
corollary. This observation is so obvious that it mitigates against ANY
 reasonable rebuttal involving common sense.
I now close this epistle, hopefully, before it requires Mike Devour to
 declare me out-of-bounds.
Thankfully, or rather mercifully, he has allowed me such an incoherent
ravingat least once a yearwithout giving me the heave-ho. I did it

Re: CScapillaries in eyes breaking

2010-01-12 Thread Saralou

The article quoted below specifically mentions that pine bark extract
seals leaky blood vessels in the eye.
The author of the article is one to read with caution (he's prone to
hyperbole at the very least) IMO.

http://www.naturalnews.com/027920_pycnogenol_diabetes.html

A total of 46 diabetic patients were involved in the randomized,
controlled study. Twenty-four of them were treated with pine bark
extract once a day for three months while the remaining 22 were given a
placebo. All the patients http://www.naturalnews.com/patients.html had
diabetes for at least four years and all were beginning to develop
retinopathy http://www.naturalnews.com/retinopathy.html. *Seventy-five
percent of patients in the pine bark group experienced improvement in
their vision* while none in the placebo
http://www.naturalnews.com/placebo.html group did.

Dr. Robert Steigerwalt, one of the lead researchers of the study,
confirmed that not only does pine bark extract halt the progression of
diabetic http://www.naturalnews.com/diabetic.html retinopathy, it can
cause it to regress by sealing the leaky blood vessels in the eye that
lead to the disease http://www.naturalnews.com/disease.html. Such
results were witnessed in as little as two months. He also noted that
diabetics http://www.naturalnews.com/diabetics.html in the early
stages of the disease can prevent such complications from ever occurring
by supplementing with pine bark extract.

Pycnogenol, the branded formula of the antioxidant
http://www.naturalnews.com/antioxidant.html plant extract derived from
the French maritime pine tree, has proven itself time and time again to
be a powerful protective nutrient, particularly for diabetics. When
administered during the early stages of diabetes
http://www.naturalnews.com/diabetes.html, many studies have shown that
pine bark is effective at preventing and treating the diabetic retinal
diseases.

CSGatorade and CS

2010-01-12 Thread Carlene Yasak
Marhsall, Renée and others,

Gatorade was created to prevent dehydration during strenuous sports and
improve performance. Perhaps someone on the list who knows a bit of
chemistry can come up with a doable recipe based on the following Oral
Rehydration Salt recipe.

In the 80s, as part of international disaster relief or humanitarian
programs, oral rehydration packets were manufactured and distributed to
people in areas where clean water wasn't readily available either because of
a natural disaster or an armed conflict. People were dying of dehydration
due to chronic diarrhea, especially the elderly and small children. The
instructions called for boiling the water first and then adding the dose of
Oral Rehydration Salts. The following simple formula for ORS is effective
and is still being used:

Sodium chloride (NaCl) 2.6 grams per liter
Glucose, anhydrous (C6H12O6) 13.5 grams per liter
Potassium chloride (KCl) 1.5 grams per liter
Trisodium citrate, dihydrate (Na3C6H5O7.2H2O) 2.9 grams per liter

That is just table salt, glucose (like honey, maple syrup, molases or
sugar), salt substitute and citric acid mixed with drinking water.

As Marshall mentioned in his post, just drink orange juice with a little
sodium citrate or if nothing else is available and in a pinch I would drink
orange soda that will certainly contain citric acid (trisodium citrate).

Wishing you all a healthy New Year and with special thanks to you Mike.

CSCell phone use on airplanes - OT

2010-01-12 Thread Dan Nave
A while back we had a conversation about why you can't use cell phones
on an airplane.
I thought this reason made some sense.

Dan

From Mercola...

While, in theory, using a cell phone or other wireless device could
interfere with the functions of an airliner, it’s not likely.
Communication systems onboard planes have been shielded from
electromagnetic interference since the 1960s.

The real reason why you can’t use your cell phone on a plane has much
more to do with their impact on cell phone towers. If you’re flying at
35,000 feet, your cell phone’s signals could reach hundreds of towers
at once, and cell phone companies are not set up to handle this type
of roaming agreement.

That said, if you’re a frequent flyer you should be counting your
lucky stars that cell phone use is currently prohibited on flights --
and not because you don’t have to suffer through other passengers’
loud personal calls, either!

2010-01-12 Thread Marshall Dudley
When inside an airplane you are in a pretty good Faraday shield. It
would not affect hundreds of towers, it would in fact hardly make it out
of the plane. A little would make it out the windows, but that would be
horizontal and would end up going out into space.

2010-01-12 Thread Sunwaterclear - Sunny
Thanks folks for your response.  I have been pursuing this with silver gen too.

I asked a rather vague question about power and they wrote me saying this in
response

Thanks for your inquiry.  The SG6 Auto works on 120 VAC and uses 2 watts of
power.

I wrote back asking this.
Hi, thanks andI have more questions.;-)

Simple stuff that I can't quite fathom out from the site and I'm on the edge of
buying the silver gen v all others, but can't without this basic information.

How much colloidal silver can the silvergen produce automatically and how much
time that takes?

Is the 2 watts the amount of electrical energy the silver gen consumes
to produce this 'automatic amount'.

i.e. if the silver gen can be set up and left to produce - what's the max
amount it can produce before it has to be set up again.  is it a quart,a gallon
or what?

how long does it take to produce that maximum amount?

Our Rv has a DC system.  Can I plug the silver gen into that and do I need a
converter if we're using that system?

If we don't need a converter, would I be able to use the system on a regular
energy grid without a converter?  Not sure how all this works as you can see so
am repeating myself to hopefully make my info needs clear.

I appreciate your patience.  I am downsizing considerably to living in an Rv,
with perhaps a 100 watt solar panel as our source of energy, wired into the RV
DC systems so that we can use laptop, silver generator etc.

RE: CSChemistry question ?

2010-01-12 Thread Norton, Steve
Here is a good source of info:
http://yarchive.net/chem/chemical_grades.html

I frequently use reagent grade chemicals internally. If you go to the
FDA definition of allowable pharmaceutical grade impurities you will see
almost no difference between reagent and pharmaceutical grade chemicals.
Actually pharmaceutical grade is often less stringent than reagent
grade. That is because reagent grade chemicals are often used in making
pharmaceuticals.

A main issue is the amount of heavy metals in the chemical. Usually you
can request a copy of an assay of the reagent or technical grade
chemical and see what if any heavy metals are present. If you use
chelators regularly (bentonite, ALA, chlorella, etc) you may not be as
concerned about heavy metals.

Reagent grade is a higher purity than technical grade. From thr Sci-Tech
Encyclopedia:

Commercial chemicals are available at several levels of purity.
Chemicals labeled technical or commercial are usually quite impure.
The grade USP indicates only that the chemical meets the requirements
of the United States Pharmacopeia. The term CP means only that the
chemical is purer than technical. Chemicals designated reagent grade
or analyzed reagent are specially purified materials which usually
have been analyzed to establish the levels of impurities. The American
Chemical Society has established specifications and tests for purity for
some chemicals. Materials which meet these specifications are labeled
Meets ACS Specifications.

I do use some technical grade chemicals where it is not possible or it
is difficult to get reagent grade. And I do use chelators. When deciding
to use a technical grade I try to get a copy of an assay. If no assay
is available and the amount used is low and the purity is reasonably
high I might still use it. There is no absolute answer to your question.

Re: CSVery interesting, and true

2010-01-12 Thread Sunwaterclear - Sunny
Off topic and yet very interesting.  I heard a rumor from a friend of a friend
who worked for Derren Brown.  He explained to me how through a system of tiny
hidden optical cameras, and earphone communication and signals, Derren Brown
can appear to be a magician.

I also studied the basis of Derren Brown's skill - something called Neuro
Linguistic programming. I studied with the guy who created it.

Much of what I learned and haven't always put into action, is that the mind has
the ability to control the physical from temperature reduction to healing.. yet
it requires a serious re-programming of habitual neuralapathways.

So in answer to your question about how come people can't.. well some of them
just can't.. we are not all equal in our abilities.. Our whole approach is the
result of a mingling of parental, religious, societal waves of belief that have
swept over us... and direct what data we sort for and how we filter the data
that comes in.

I think part of this whole healing thing is belief. Every thought we have
affects our physical..emotions are literally energy shifts caused by
physiological change in our bodies caused by thoughts that lead us to make
associations.. and stir up the automatic instincts, fight, flight, freeze and a
moving towards what works or moving away from a problem..

So whilst CS is a wonderful product because I beleive in it, it might be that
for osmeone else, itwill have no effect because their physical cellular
structure is being affected by their thoughts...

Let us be patient with those who do not get as much as we do, just as I hope
that you all will be patient with me when I am naive and unknowing.. and hold
the space for all of us to emerge..

have continued to shock people like that no matter who was telling me it was
OK. That comes right down to a person's character and using their own mind. The

Re: CSGatorade and CS

2010-01-12 Thread Renee
Thanks Carlene. This is a good remedy to have on hand, and simple to do.
There's a guy with an organization called Small Change. He gets kids--and
adults--to set aside their change, or with kids, to collect change--and this
money is donated and it all goes to making these dehydration packets
distributed to the third world countries. Saves so many lives and for such
little money.

RE: CSChemistry question ?

2010-01-12 Thread Norton, Steve
Are you considering Magnesium Chloride that is specified as laboratory
grade and not just technical grade? Here is a definition of grades from
a chemical supplier that defines laboratory grade:

 DEFINITION OF GRADES

Reagent ACS -- Meets or surpasses latest American Chemical Society
standards for purity.

Reagent -- Does not exceed maximum limits of significant impurities as
stated. Does not have ultrastringent requirements of Reagent ACS.

Laboratory Grade -- Equivalent in purity to United States Pharmacopeia
(USP) and National Formulary (NF) listings. However, they are not
offered for food, drug, or medicinal use of any kind.

Practical Grade -- Sufficiently high quality for use in many syntheses
and other applications.

Technical Grade -- Selected commercial grades, scrupulously clean, and
of reasonable chemical purity. Where usable, most economical grade and
suitable for educational purposes.

There is Magnesium Chloride used for de-icing roads and sidewalks that I
would be hesitant to consider for use. I would definitely want to see an
MSDS or assay for it.

Thank you Steve:)

I've been looking for Magnesium Chloride so I can
make it up by the half gallon or gallon, and all
the 'grade' terminology is a little confusing. I
know pharmaceutical grade and food grade are ok
for consumption, and I figured lab grade would
have to be mostly pure, but I wasn't sure that
technical grade wasn't just another name for lab
grade, and what do they use technical grade for
anyway? I just don't want to use the wrong thing. :/

Actually pharmaceutical grade is often less stringent than reagent

A main issue is the amount of heavy metals in the chemical. Usually
you
can request a copy of an assay of the reagent or technical grade
chemical and see what if any heavy metals are present. If you use
chelators regularly (bentonite, ALA, chlorella, etc) you may not be as
 concerned about heavy metals.

Reagent grade is a higher purity than technical grade. From thr
Sci-Tech
 Encyclopedia:

Commercial chemicals are available at several levels of purity.
Chemicals labeled technical or commercial are usually quite
impure.
The grade USP indicates only that the chemical meets the
requirements
of the United States Pharmacopeia. The term CP means only that the
chemical is purer than technical. Chemicals designated reagent
grade
or analyzed reagent are specially purified materials which usually
have been analyzed to establish the levels of impurities. The American
Chemical Society has established specifications and tests for purity
for
some chemicals. Materials which meet these specifications are labeled
 Meets ACS Specifications.

I do use some technical grade chemicals where it is not possible or it
is difficult to get reagent grade. And I do use chelators. When
deciding
to use a technical grade I try to get a copy of an assay. If no assay
is available and the amount used is low and the purity is reasonably
high I might still use it. There is no absolute answer to your
question.

What's the difference between technical grade and

What are you wanting to say? An acceleration of power simply makes no
sense in the physical world. If you want power, then it is just watts.
If you want energy it is watt-hours. Since power (watts) is energy
(joules) per second, then watts per second would be energy (joules) per
second per second. I really have no idea what is trying to be said.

CSA question

2010-01-12 Thread Sunwaterclear - Sunny
About 8 months ago I bought a large bottle of colloidal silver.   When it was
halfway done I decided to add some oil of oregano to the mix. I've been using
it ever since [spraying it on my gums because I did have some dental problems
and didn't want them to recur] and now am beginning to think that I've ruined
the silver.  ;-)

Is this the case...?

Monsanto's GMO Corn Linked To Organ Failure, Study Reveals

In a study released by the International Journal of Biological Sciences,
analyzing the effects of genetically modified foods on mammalian health,
researchers found that agricultural giant Monsanto's GM corn is linked to
organ damage in rats.

According to the study, which was summarized by Adam Shake at Twilight
Earth, Three varieties of Monsanto's GM corn - Mon 863,
insecticide-producing Mon 810, and Roundup® herbicide-absorbing NK 603 -
were approved for consumption by US, European and several other national
food safety authorities.

Monsanto gathered its own crude statistical data after conducting a 90-day
study, even though chronic problems can rarely be found after 90 days, and
concluded that the corn was safe for consumption. The stamp of approval may
have been premature, however.

In the conclusion of the IJBS study, researchers wrote:

Effects were mostly concentrated in kidney and liver function, the two
major diet detoxification organs, but in detail differed with each GM type.
In addition, some effects on heart, adrenal, spleen and blood cells were
also frequently noted. As there normally exists sex differences in liver and
kidney metabolism, the highly statistically significant disturbances in the
function of these organs, seen between male and female rats, cannot be
dismissed as biologically insignificant as has been proposed by others. We
therefore conclude that our data strongly suggests that these GM maize
varieties induce a state of hepatorenal toxicityThese substances have
never before been an integral part of the human or animal diet and therefore
their health consequences for those who consume them, especially over long
time periods are currently unknown.

Monsanto has immediately responded to the study, stating that the research
is based on faulty analytical methods and reasoning and do not call into
question the safety findings for these products.

The IJBS study's author Gilles-Eric Séralini responded to the Monsanto
statement on the blog, Food Freedom, Our study contradicts Monsanto
conclusions because Monsanto systematically neglects significant health
effects in mammals that are different in males and females eating GMOs, or
not proportional to the dose. This is a very serious mistake, dramatic for
public health. This is the major conclusion revealed by our work, the only
careful reanalysis of Monsanto crude statistical data.

2010-01-12 Thread Norton, Steve
Sunny,

It takes some research on your part. Here is a start for some of the more
common supplements:
http://www.mcvitamins.com/Vitamins/vitamins-in-food.htm

I did searches on all the plants I came across in the area where I live. You
will be surprised at what is available to you locally. For example, I am
located near an ocean and several type of kelp are available nearby. In some
instances I ask family in other states to send me some plant material they have
easy access to me. Or for seeds or root to allow me to grow my own. Then you
will need to decide whether to just dry and store the plant or whether making a
tincture or extract is the best way to store the supplements. You will also
probably want to develop a way to powder the plant material. Leaves aren't so
bad but dried roots and similar plant parts can be more difficult to powder.

Below are some databases that will help in determining the beneficial
components in a plant. I also do google searches with the plant name and
benefits in the search box. The databases below are very powerful if you make
the effort to learn how to use them. The databases will even tell you what part
of the plant contains the nutrient that interests you most. Databases:

http://www.leffingwell.com/plants.htm
http://www.ars-grin.gov/duke/
http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/duke_energy/dukeindex.html
http://www.ars-grin.gov/duke/syllabus/ (esp. Module 2)

If you need a plant that is not available locally, then look for bulk plant
sources. One I have used a lot is: http://www.herbalcom.com/. Also, look into
sprouting dried seeds that are readily available in the supermarket and are
inexpensive such as beans, brown rice, peas, lentils, alfalfa, etc. Sprouted
seeds can have very concentrated amounts of nutrients that exceed what is
available from the seed without sprouting or from the mature plant.

Annie seems to know a lot of low cost sources as do others on the list. Ask
when you have trouble finding an affordable source for something.

Take your time and do it slowly and don't get discouraged. It will take time
and you may find the learning experience very enjoyable. And you can do it
inexpensively.

I would go for ascorbate every time, since as I understand it, that is what
humans cannot produce themselves (unlike the vast majority of mammals).
Specifically I would go for a Liposomal version, as it's absorbtion rate is
so high compared to regular supplementation, and doesn't have bowel
tolerance issues. I would go as far as to say that it's even superior to IV
supplementation due to its affinity to cell absorbtion rather than free
roaming. There's some compelling evidence to suggest that under some
circumstances it's worth going to 50-100g per day(!!), in cases such as
cancer, as within the cell it can convert to H2O2.

Thank you Brooks for that really helpful article. Can you say whether in

A book could easily be written on the above, but between them they cover

forest garden?

I'm serious here... when I had money I'd buy all this stuff.. and start a
regime.. but to be naturally healthy these days it appears one has to also
have a lot of 'money-energy'. No griping here, I chose a life of simplicity
to divest myself.. but wellness is paramount.

Can anyone share how we can get these nutrients more naturally.. for
example, berries from a bush and food that is readily available locally?
That would be a challenge...

and thanks to you all for your astounding knowledge sharing..

CSWhere to buy CMO

2010-01-12 Thread SJY
List (especially Brooks),

Not finding a source of Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO) locally, I searched the
Internet. As you can imagine, there are many sources, each making wonderful
claims about their products, and some bad-mouthing their competitors, etc.
So I need recommendations from you who have used CMO with good results.
What brands and sources do you recommend? What are your recommendations
regarding products that compound CMO with digestive enzymes, Glucosamine,
Hyaluronic Acid, etc. To keep this on topic, have you users of CMO had any
adverse effects from also taking EIS (CS)? Responses either on or off list
will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Dear Mr. Bradley:

Yours is a remarkable (and, sadly, all too credible) statement. I'm
sure many of us would welcome your cogent explication, on or off list.
I can imagine that this topic may seem to be very thin ice indeed,
however, and I've had related conversations on similar matters in which
my interlocutor absolutely would not say more.Nevertheless, URL
links to information that may provide illumination to those seeking
better understanding would be most welcome. In that regard, Mathias
Rath, MD, makes some very powerful and troubling assertions on his web
site. Perhaps these have some connection to the comment below.

A very fine book on politics and economics that may prove of value to
you and others is this one by Professor McMurtry, for whom I have
enormous respect. This book was one of few that helped to change my
way of thinking. McMurtry fleshes out the life economy that
humanity desperately needs. The other side of things, of course, is
the economy that currently reigns.

  Hi, Steve,
I used the Duoflex brand and it worked wonderfully! (I also no longer drink
milk, and since I learned that trick, I have no more joint pains or snapping
knees.)
I gave a canine brand of CMO (Cetyl M) to my 9 year old Pug, who was
limping a lot and sleeping most of the day, now she is much more active and
playful.
Hope this will help!

It depended on the quality of the water going IN to be distilled.
There is something in the water here that doesn't distill out easily.
So at some times of the year, usually in late spring when the river
is running very high, I could distill once and the water would be
fine. At other times of the year, when the river is low I'd have to
double distill to get it pure enough. I may have been lucky. Right
now the purchased distilled water is running a bit higher on the
meter (about .5 to .6 uS) than I preferred to have it from the home
still. But it is making perfectly clear CS. This may indicate that
the source of the water that is being distilled and sold here now has
changed. What comes out of a distiller depends in part at least on
what goes into it, in my experience.

Hi,

the router we bought last month is defective, so I've had many
multiple problems connecting to the internet, and I've been without
email for varying periods of time. I'm not sure why that would make
email to me undeliverable, though, so it may be unrelated. Or yahoo
could be bouncing my mail? It shouldn't be, I do not use Yahoo mail,
but Yahoo has bounced my personal mail before which was really
strange, and kinda scary..

Last night I put a simple $20 steam humidifier in his room and added
about 8 oz of colloidal silver to the water. He seems much better
this morning. I was just wondering if this is safeto add
colloidal silver to tap water in a steamer?
