Yeah, might just be another version of the pequine, because it also is the size of a BB. Mine is red, his happens to be yellow I guess. And yes--hot enough that just a couple will do a whole pot of chili. Whew! Speaking of BBs, a couple hours south of here there is a place that makes BBs. I have not got to tour it, but I was told that what they do is drop the molten metal from high up and on the way down it forms BBs. There is a very high tower there when I've driven past the place. I need to go see that one day--just sounds interesting. Samala, Renee ---Original Message--- I Think he calls them Texas wild peppers. Hi Renee.do you use fresh or dried peppers? And if you use a 2 pounds - how much vodka do you use (and is that 100 proof?). I've made some myself - but I used dried and definitely not a pound of peppers.but I can always add more :-) Lisa _ From: Renee [mailto:gaiac...@gmail.com] Sent: Sunday, May 23, 2010 12:22 AM To: silver-list@eskimo.com Subject: Re: CSResipe Tincture of Cayenne is made with Ever-Clear Grain Alcohol Hey Tel. I follow Dr. Schulze's method of both making and using the cayenne tincture. He's stopped plenty of strokes and heart attacks as a doctor, and he uses 2 to 3 droppers of tincture or a tablespoon of powder in a small amount of water. Cayenne may feel like it is burning, but it does NO damage. Dr. Schulze has had cayenne powder blow directly into his eyes, without any damage, and so upped the amount of cayenne used in his eye formulas. I made my super strong habannero pepper tincture, and after an accident while straining it, the tincture ran over both hands for about 5 minutes while I was holding the bag it was straining through. My hands burned like fire for 3 days. The pain was so bad it would wake me up at night that first night. BUT--there was ZERO skin damage. You are making people afraid where there is no need for fear. Cayenne is a life saver, certainly--but it doesn't damage and I was not lucky--I knew exactly what I was doing. I make my tincture with up to 2 pounds of habannero peppers and vodka. I blend them in my blender and let them sit in a glass jar for up to a year before straining. I don't like everclear--I detest the taste, so I use vodka. I also now add a large handful of my wild chili pequin peppers, which are actually hotter than habs (which, outside of 2 new types of peppers are considered the hottest peppers there are) so my tincture is STRONG. I've given plenty away, also. I don't sell it though. I'm not in that business. So, there is no reason to fear the internal or external use of cayenne tincture. Samala, Renee
RE: CSResipe Tincture of Cayenne is made with Ever-Clear Grain Alcohol
Hi Lisa. I use fresh. You don't have to use that much if you are not making a LOT of tincture. I believe that 2 pounds makes a half gallon of tincture--maybe more. It's been a long time since I've needed to make any. I have about 2 gallons sitting in my simples room. I actually use 80 proof vodka. You can use either 100 or 80 proof. Depends on how much you want to spend. Here it's a bit harder to find 100 proof vodka. You can buy the cheapest American vodka you like because by law, all American vodka has to be both tasteless and odorless, so they are the same. Of course, when you look at imported vodka there's a huge price range. You CAN use dried peppers, or even powder, to make a tincture. I simply prefer to use fresh material whenever I can, and here I can buy habs or any other pepper all year long. They run about $4 a pound. I never measure my stuff out. I just always have a couple bottles of vodka on hand to make sure I have enough for when I get in my tincture making moods. What I do is just put in as much material as I have or will fit in my blender, cover with vodka and blend. If it's too thick I add more vodka and blend again. I want it to be slushy but not thick. Then when I pour it into the glass jar and let it settle, if there's not an inch of liquid on top I add enough vodka to do that. So since I don't measure, I can't give specifics. Just have a couple bottles of vodka on hand and blend away. :-) Samala, Renee ---Original Message--- Hi Renee do you use fresh or dried peppers? Re: CSResipe Tincture of Cayenne is made with Ever-Clear Grain Alcohol
If you want a really hot tincture you can try scotch bonnets. I found this in Wikipedi. We had them when I lived in the caribbean and they have found their way north. If you like heat you will probably like them. PT Scotch bonnet, also known as Boabs Bonnet, Scotty Bons[1] or Bonney peppers[1], (Latin: Capsicum chinense) is a variety of chili pepper that belongs to the same species as the habanero. A cultivar of the habanero, it is one of the hottest peppers in the world. Found mainly in the Caribbean islands and also in Guyana and the Maldives Islands, it is named for its resemblance to a Tam o'shanter hat.[2] Most Scotch Bonnets have a heat rating of 100,000-350,000 Scoville Units.[3] For comparison, most jalapeño peppers have a heat rating of 2,500 to 8,000 on the Scoville scale. These peppers are used to flavour many different dishes and cuisines worldwide. Scotch bonnets have a flavour distinct from its habanero cousin. This gives jerk dishes (pork/chicken) and other Caribbean dishes their unique flavour. Scotch bonnets are mostly used in Grenadian, Trinidadian, Jamaican, Barbadian, Guyanese, Surinamese, Haitian and Caymanian cuisine and pepper sauces, though they often show up in other Caribbean recipes. Fresh ripe scotch bonnets change from green to colours ranging from pumpkin orange to scarlet red. Ripe peppers are prepared for cooking by cutting out the seeds inside the fruit which can be saved for cultivation or other culinary uses. - Original Message - From: Renee To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Monday, May 24, 2010 12:17 PM Subject: RE: CSResipe Tincture of Cayenne is made with Ever-Clear Grain Alcohol If you find a store that caters to Hispanics, they will have lots of different types of hot peppers. Just adding a small hint here re cayenne pepper; I have had anxiety attacks and when my chest tightens up, I take about 1/3 teas. of cayenne pepper mixed in about 1/4 to 1/3 glass of orange drink or whatever I have to kill the heat and chugalug it and drink some orange afterwards. It clears the arteries out for me and stops hurting in less than 30 min. Usually within 10 min. Hope this helps someone. Oh, and taking any pineapple with that would make me sick. Should be spaced out considerably.

All peppers are in the same family, and they all have capsaicin, just to varying degrees, from zero down to the hottest pepper in the world which is 1 million Scoville units. So maybe it's just the higher amounts of capsaicin you are allergic to. Otherwise, I can't see any reason why you can eat one but not the other. Some peppers have no heat at all like the paprika pepper, or green garden peppers. Some peppers get hotter the longer they hang on the plant. Some have natural mild heat and some have flame heat. And people's version of what a chili pepper is, is different in each part of the country. What one area calls chili peppers, others will call by specific names in other areas. Here we have a large variety of hot peppers ranging from slightly mild to the wild chili pequin, which is hotter than the habs, from jalepenos, poblamos, habs, etc (I'm sure I've spelled them wrong). Re: CSResipe Tincture of Cayenne is made with Ever-Clear Grain Alcohol
Dear CS Listers, Sometimes you get away with what you do by mistake ! (Like the statement (You need way more than a couple of drops ...you need whatever she said is wrong,!!! Its a wonder she did not harm her Dad's Voice box, and other tender things in his stomach. Sorry But luck does not make it right. Never use more than a couple of drops under the tongue at a time, It only takes that much to devolve a clot in just a few seconds under the tongue. I have used it and it works most every time on clotting attacks, in seconds. Beware my friends, you can over do it and be Sorry, More is NOT Better. The Taxi cab Drivers in big cities came up with the Pepper Tincture about 14 or 15 years ago in the USA at a meeting to try and figure out how to avoid so many lawsuits from families of Stroke Heart Attack Victims who sued the cab companies involved. Not many won but the cost of defending the cab driver was way too high. A cab driver from India, or somewhere advised the gathering that the Cayenne Pepper Tincture could help solve the problem. At least keep the victim alive long enough to get them to a hospital, and to help stop Brain injury. Thus stopping many lawsuits, as we tried is a good defense. ! Remember, This is a tried science, and a couple of drops under the Tongue Will work in most cases. I Sell mine in a dropper bottle, just screw off the cap and the pointed tip will slide under the tongue very easy. I also give away a lot of it as a thank you gift. Hey Tel.
