I don't believe LMS itself supports those tags. You can check to see if one of the Erland plugins supports those. If not I don't think you'll be able to use those tags in LMS. No, I haven't installed the DSDplay plug in yet. I updated the LMS version quite quickly, as I thought many of the things I needed might be included. Yes, Squeezelite is the software running here with PCP. So now I have to make LMS read the file and run the stream. Over here is very late, and I won't be able to work back on this until Monday. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Adding song to currently playing playlist issue-playback stops before added track
Hi, totally new here and appreciate any help that comes my way. I am non techie in this area, I use LMS via Safari to control a Innuos Zen NAS, and also use iPeng. I have the same problem with both control methods- If a song is playing and I add another song to the playlist (not a saved playlist, just what is currently cued), playback stops before the new song is played back. I've lived with this problem for years and can't imagine it's normal behaviour? It seems PCP doesn't play DSD files, at least those I tried. Is that so? It seems PCP doesn't read or can use cue files, from CDs you ripped on one large file, with a cue. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] QLogitechMediaServer for Qnap with QTS 4.2 or higher and x86_64/I686/X86 support !
* Whats has been changed in version 2.09 and higher ; The auto update routine, completely has been redesigned. To make it run better, faster and more future save. In there several things are changed or added. Like the up-/down- graded function. ( placing a proper file, in the download share of youre QNap ). Also there now is a way, to download a specified official version, by editing .QLMS.conf where UPDATE=/NIGHTLY= can be set to ?.?.? where is should be some thing higher then 7.8.9. ( When done it will change it back to =1) The other big and important change is the Upgraded routine. IN the older version a new release was placed on top of the already installed LMS version. Now before installing the new version, it will uninstall the old version. This way a up-/down- graded works better and this way it prevents conflict and errors. There now also is away to let it check on update after a specified time while running LMS. When a update is available, it will send a messages to the messages center of QNap and stop. In .QLMS.conf just set TIMER= to something between 00:01 and 23:59. This will be the time the next check will be done. When running ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh status will then also show the time when it will do the check. With the command /QLogitechMediaServer.sh timer, you can activated it. /QLogitechMediaServer.sh timer status, will show the next time and /QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop will deactivated it. If TIMER- is set, on startup of QLogitechMediaServer, it will also activated the timer. Now included in installation is Custom.pm, to prevent that server and scanner log from LMS get to big. Also through this, only directorys are shown in LMS which could contain music files. IN the settings-page/information it will display QLMS 2.X (QNAP TurboStation). Another new option is AUDIO= in .QLMS.conf, where when you set it to 1, will uses the audio prgs included in QLogitechMediaServer file-system. On default or when AUDIO=0 / #AUDIO=, the audio prgs included in LMS are used. In .QLMS.func now also there is ARCHIVE=1, which will take care that every download and installed update, will saved in Backup . ( All the Official releases and the last 5 Nightly versions. Through this way you can do a rollback if a version is causing trouble ! New command line options for QLogitechMediaServer.sh ; clean will uninstall the installed LMS, but keep all settings. ( On ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh start/restart, it will install a new clean LMS installation !) check Will do a check on LMS if there is a update. ( Depending on how UPDATE=/NIGHTLY= are set !) upgrade Will try to do a upgrade, if a update if available. ( When LMS is running will stop it first !) rollback If ARCHIVE=1 and there are already early installed version available. Will show a menu, where you could choice a release you want to be installed. Then on next start/restart of QlogitechMediaServer this will be installed. [ New plug-in support ] Because of GoogleMusic, python has been included in the chroot file-system of QLogitechMediaServer. Also QLogitechMediaServer will be aware if its installed, and try to install the GmusicAPI, so GoogleMusic can logon and be used. There also is support for the GIT version. [ PERL check improved ] The perl check has been improved, and now checked if LMS also has support for it. All the release accepted the arm5te(ARM-x09/ARM-x19), have perl 5.24.4/5.28.3 included. Under the hood there are more minor improvements and changes. All the release are updated to the latest version and build from Debian 9 strech. QNap uses kernels from Debian, so that works great. . * * maintainer of QLogitechMediaServer, QOptware-NG and QAutoSub. carlmart wrote: > It created folders with artists names and things like that, which I > really do not want, and it created a lot of folders I find useless. > There's no need to worry. LMS hasn't created any folders or moved any files -- the folder/file structure on your hard disk is exactly how you made it. What you're seeing is a list of menus -- 'views' -- of your music files, based on their tags or other attributes that LMS can determine (eg, how often you play things for Top/Flop tracks). LMS enables you to browse your music in a wide variety of ways, and to create custom menus that meet any specific needs you may have. Fwiw, the "Music Folder" menu will let you browse the folder structure of your music library as it exists on your hard disk, if that's the way you prefer. You can disable any of the existing menus that you don't want using the interface at LMS > Settings > Player (tab) > Additional Browse Modes Just untick the ones you don't want and click "Apply" at the bottom right. 27885 (NB. You can remove/hide some of these Menu Items by going to LMS > Settings > Player Tab > Additional Browse Modes, and unchecking those you do not wish to see, click "Apply" bottom right. This will also remove these items from your PCP screen. However, you cannot change the way LMS functions. If you don't like how LMS functions, you can always seek out a different music server. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Organizing folders in Logitech Media Server
Something did create all those folders on LMS and organized the folders and records in a certain way. I did not. If it was not LMS, what program did that? I assume it has to be stored in some temp file, or will it disappear when I turn my PC off or reboot Firefox. Where are those folders located? Can I rearrange them in a different way? The only thing I did, on the LMS setup, was to tell it where my Music folder was. Inside it, the only organization I did was by artist. Inside it other artist folder there were subfolder, the end folders being the albums, with the themes inside. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Organizing folders in Logitech Media Server
The layout of the files on the source storage system has not changed. The data from those files has been ingested by LMS and stored in a database. What you see when you use one of the players or the web interface to LMS are various views on that database. You can think of them as folders if you want but that is not the term used by the software ... unless you click on Music Folder. Some of the software allows you to move or hide menu items (those database views). Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Server Machine Alternatives.
When I get back home I must search on the SSL libraries (I do not know what ssl libraries are or do) and see what I can do. Any links are very much appreciated! I thought I had posted this before. But here's a good summary: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109738#post925539 What problems might that create on my setup? I think besides the struggle of the update process itself, it shouldn't hurt at all. The other option I am considering is another sbc, probably rpi4, for LMS. That's definitely an option. I'm running a Pi 3B+ with pCP connected to a NAS (for the music files) myself. So the question is LMS in old macOS/old Mac or in new sbc? I've only done the latter. If you don't mind the configuration work, then that's probably the simpler and more future proof way. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

When I get back home I must search on the SSL libraries (I do not know what ssl libraries are or do) and see what I can do. Any links are very much appreciated! What problems might that create on my setup? I didnt use it a lot because I had to leave for sometime but as far as I used it I didnt notice something. The other option I am considering is another sbc, probably rpi4, for LMS. The cost is about the same for me because I was considering to buy another ssd to install in my mini in order to make the Linux os experiment. I hope I will manage to solve the heating up issue with a passive cooling case or any other passive cooling solution. So the question is LMS in old macOS/old Mac or in new sbc? If you start some music playing and go to the "Now Playing" screen, you should see volume controls at the bottom right. 27878 On the PC running LMS, in the system tray you should see an LMS icon (music notes), if you right click this and select "*Open Web Control*", a browser will open at the LMS web gui. 27879 +---+ |Filename: webcontrol.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=27879| +---+ *Server - LMS 7.9.2 *Pi4B 4GB/pCP 6.0.0 18K library, playlists & LMS cache on SSD (ntfs) *Study -* Pi3B+/pCP 5.0.0/pi screen/HiFiBerry DAC+/jivelite, *Lounge* - Pi2/pCP 5.0.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > AudioEngine DAC1 > AVI DM5 *Dining Room* - Squeezebox Boom *Garage* - Pi3B/Pi screen/HiFiBerry DAC+/pCP 5.0.0 > Edifier R980T *Spares* - 2xTouch, 1xSB3, 1xRadio, 6xRPi kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
