the end of a track seems to be the magic number. More than that and
playback continues otherwise it stops. I think crossfade settings will
affect this as well but I have crossfade turned off.

I don't believe LMS itself supports those tags. You can check to see if
one of the Erland plugins supports those. If not I don't think you'll be
able to use those tags in LMS.

No, I haven't installed the DSDplay plug in yet.

I updated the LMS version quite quickly, as I thought many of the things
I needed might be included.

Yes, Squeezelite is the software running here with PCP.

So now I have to make LMS read the file and run the stream.

Over here is very late, and I won't be able to work back on this until
Monday.

So I wish all a happy week end, and see you next Monday!

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Adding song to currently playing playlist issue-playback stops before added track

2019-08-09 Thread Nadsta

Hi, totally new here and appreciate any help that comes my way.

I am non techie in this area, I use LMS via Safari to control a Innuos
Zen NAS, and also use iPeng. I have the same problem with both control
methods-

If a song is playing and I add another song to the playlist (not a saved
playlist, just what is currently cued), playback stops before the new
song is played back.

I've lived with this problem for years and can't imagine it's normal
behaviour?

Many thanks

Pcp will play whatever is streamed, it’s the server task to read the

Perhaps I'd need to say that I was quite pleased with the audio quality

My questions about how to handle DSD files and cue sheets are because I

Well, that certainly would kill it. I've only found one place which
would trigger the message you're seeing. And that's rendering the Genres
list in the Advanced Search. (doesn't mean there couldn't be any other
code breaking the same way, but that's what I've found)

You could try patching the template toolkit. Increase the number of max
iterations in a WHILE loop from 1000 to 1:

Code:

diff --git a/CPAN/Template/Directive.pm b/CPAN/Template/Directive.pm
  index 152023861f..2e5713ccb3 100644
  --- a/CPAN/Template/Directive.pm

  +our $WHILE_MAX = 1 unless defined $WHILE_MAX;
  our $PRETTY= 0 unless defined $PRETTY;
  our $OUTPUT= '$output .= ';

Then restart LMS.

Can you post an example of the first 10 or so lines of one of your .cue

OK, but why won't PCP play the large audio file anyway, without the

server... which is on your windows PC.Cue file support also has
nothing to do with pCP, you need to be looking at your server.

It seems PCP doesn't play DSD files, at least those I tried. Is that so?

It seems PCP doesn't read or can use cue files, from CDs you ripped on
one large file, with a cue.

Why won't it read the large file anyway, in flac or wav? Any audio
program does.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] QLogitechMediaServer for Qnap with QTS 4.2 or higher and x86_64/I686/X86 support !

2019-08-09 Thread digimaster

*

Whats has been changed in version 2.09 and higher ;

The auto update routine, completely has been redesigned. To make it run
better, faster and more future save. In there several things are changed
or added. Like the up-/down- graded function. ( placing a proper file,
in the download share of you’re QNap ). Also there now is a way, to
download a specified official version, by editing .QLMS.conf where
UPDATE=/NIGHTLY= can be set to ?.?.? where is should be some thing
higher then 7.8.9. ( When done it will change it back to =1)

The other big and important change is the Upgraded routine. IN the older
version a new release was placed on top of the already installed LMS
version. Now before installing the new version, it will uninstall the
old version. This way a up-/down- graded works better and this way it
prevents conflict and errors.

There now also is away to let it check on update after a specified time
while running LMS. When a update is available, it will send a messages
to the messages center of QNap and stop. In .QLMS.conf just set TIMER=
to something between 00:01 and 23:59. This will be the time the next
check will be done. When running ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh status will
then also show the time when it will do the check. With the command
/QLogitechMediaServer.sh timer, you can activated it.
/QLogitechMediaServer.sh timer status, will show the next time and
/QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop will deactivated it. If TIMER- is set, on
startup of QLogitechMediaServer, it will also activated the timer.

Now included in installation is Custom.pm, to prevent that server and
scanner log from LMS get to big. Also through this, only directory’s are
shown in LMS which could contain music files. IN the
settings-page/information it will display QLMS 2.X (QNAP TurboStation).

Another new option is AUDIO= in .QLMS.conf, where when you set it to 1,
will uses the audio prg’s included in QLogitechMediaServer file-system.
On default or when AUDIO=0 / #AUDIO=, the audio prg’s included in LMS
are used.
In .QLMS.func now also there is ARCHIVE=1, which will take care that
every download and installed update, will saved in Backup . ( All the
Official releases and the last 5 Nightly versions. Through this way you
can do a rollback if a version is causing trouble !
New command line options for QLogitechMediaServer.sh ;

clean
will uninstall the installed LMS, but keep all settings. ( On
./QLogitechMediaServer.sh start/restart, it will install a new clean LMS
installation !)
check
Will do a check on LMS if there is a update. ( Depending on how
UPDATE=/NIGHTLY= are set !)

upgrade
Will try to do a upgrade, if a update if available. ( When LMS is
running will stop it first !)

rollback
If ARCHIVE=1 and there are already early installed version available.
Will show a menu, where you could choice a release you want to be
installed. Then on next start/restart of QlogitechMediaServer this will
be installed.
[ New plug-in support ]
Because of GoogleMusic, python has been included in the chroot
file-system of QLogitechMediaServer. Also QLogitechMediaServer will be
aware if its installed, and try to install the GmusicAPI, so GoogleMusic
can logon and be used. There also is support for the GIT version.

[ PERL check improved ]

The perl check has been improved, and now checked if LMS also has
support for it. All the release accepted the arm5te(ARM-x09/ARM-x19),
have perl 5.24.4/5.28.3 included.

Under the hood there are more minor improvements and changes.

All the release are updated to the latest version and build from Debian
9 strech. QNap uses kernels from Debian, so that works great.

There's no need to worry. LMS hasn't created any folders or moved any
files -- the folder/file structure on your hard disk is exactly how you
made it.

What you're seeing is a list of menus -- 'views' -- of your music
files, based on their tags or other attributes that LMS can determine
(eg, how often you play things for Top/Flop tracks).

LMS enables you to browse your music in a wide variety of ways, and to
create custom menus that meet any specific needs you may have. Fwiw, the
"Music Folder" menu will let you browse the folder structure of your
music library as it exists on your hard disk, if that's the way you
prefer.

You can disable any of the existing menus that you don't want using the
interface at LMS > Settings > Player (tab) > Additional Browse Modes

Just untick the ones you don't want and click "Apply" at the bottom
right.

27885

(NB. You won't see "Living Room" -- that's just the name I gave one of
my players -- you'll see whatever your player is called.)

How many times do you need to be told? They are not folders, they are
Menu items.

You can remove/hide some of these Menu Items by going to LMS > Settings
> Player Tab > Additional Browse Modes, and unchecking those you do not
wish to see, click "Apply" bottom right. This will also remove these
items from your PCP screen. However, you cannot change the way LMS
functions. If you don't like how LMS functions, you can always seek out
a different music server.

Good Luck.

How would you call those? Aren't they folders, which they open albums
where music themes are?

Those are the ones I want to order in a different way, so I can access
them from the PCP following my criteria.

Where are they? Who made those folders? They contain album files, so

Where is "Browse Music Folder" so I can browse with it?

I think what you're referring to isn't "folders", but menus, or

If it was not LMS, what program did that?

I assume it has to be stored in some temp file, or will it disappear
when I turn my PC off or reboot Firefox.

Where are those folders located? Can I rearrange them in a different
way?

The only thing I did, on the LMS setup, was to tell it where my Music
folder was. Inside it, the only organization I did was by artist. Inside
it other artist folder there were subfolder, the end folders being the
albums, with the themes inside.

I would like to keep that same arrangement, not the one I see on PCP
now.

The layout of the files on the source storage system has not changed.
The data from those files has been ingested by LMS and stored in a
database.
What you see when you use one of the players or the web interface to LMS
are various views on that database. You can think of them as folders if
you want but that is not the term used by the software ... unless you
click on “Music Folder”.

Some of the software allows you to move or hide menu items (those
database views).

Well, someone did. I did not.

It's on my LMS web page, so

It took out artists names, for instance, that were inside separate
folders, and organized them alphabetically in an "All artists" folder,
something I would never do.

And that's just an example.

I would prefer to do my own organization, and certainly eliminate the
ones I don't need.

The way it automatically did in my system, just with one folder where

It created folders with artists names and things like that, which I

The latest Pi3 (Pi3B+ I believe) works very well as a server, I have
built 3 now for friends

However the case that Kidstypike has used for the Pi4 looks good if
you're only after a server and can put it where the small amount of
noise will not be a problem.

Yes, I am vastly confused on what PCP is, and I have the right to be so.
You could put that in better terms, be more helpful, instead of
criticizing.

If you are willing to help people you should show how things are,
because if there were any other place I could get this info I would go
there.

That's what forums are for. Or they should be.

The problem was in the web setup, and NOBODY here suggested that might
be the problem. Why didn't anyone think of that or tell me where I could
go follow a tutorial.

To those that tried to help me, thank you.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Michael.

Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4B with HifiBerry Dac+ Pro

OS: Armbian

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 – 1564788734

Number of tracks: 426,873

I do get an error message in the server log: [19-08-09 11:28:03.1513]
Slim::Web::Template::SkinManager::_fillTemplate (337) Error: undef error
- WHILE loop terminated (> 1000 iterations)

I have observed that Advanced Search works well with smaller number of
tracks, but I am not sure what the precise threshold to cause it to stop
working is.

Thanks,

Miguel

Thanks for leading me to access LMS.

But what the audio work was in the PCP setup page.

It only did work after I selected an Output setting, as shown on
screen.

The problem was a missing setting.

Music is playing fine now.

A friend of mine here, that knows Linux well, helped me find this
setting.

Have you considered leaving the Mac as it is but installing Squeezeplay
on it I.e. turning it into a (headless) SB player? If you can use the
digital out to a DAC then SQ is really quite good.
If you look for any post by Ralphy you will find his signature contains

Yes you have posted before my bad! Thnx again and sorry for
repeating myself!
All this new info is a bit confusing to me!
I think that updating openssl on the Mac is not very doable for me
because there are some steps before the guide in the link that I don’t
think I know how to implement.

I don’t mind setting up the server again. Knowledge comes with
repetition! No?
So I will consider the rpi4 option too.

What problems might that create on my setup?

I think besides the struggle of the update process itself, it shouldn't
hurt at all.

The other option I am considering is another sbc, probably rpi4, for
LMS.

That's definitely an option. I'm running a Pi 3B+ with pCP connected to
a NAS (for the music files) myself.

So the question is LMS in old macOS/old Mac or in new sbc?

I've only done the latter. If you don't mind the configuration work,
then that's probably the simpler and more future proof way.

I get your point and I guess you are right!!
When I get back home I must search on the SSL libraries (I do not know
what ssl libraries are or do) and see what I can do. Any links are very
much appreciated!
What problems might that create on my setup?
I didn’t use it a lot because I had to leave for sometime but as far as
I used it I didn’t notice something.

The other option I am considering is another sbc, probably rpi4, for
LMS.
The cost is about the same for me because I was considering to buy
another ssd to install in my mini in order to make the Linux os
experiment. I hope I will manage to solve the heating up issue with a
passive cooling case or any other passive cooling solution.

So the question is LMS in old macOS/old Mac or in new sbc?

Thank you Michael

Ok, this shows you are connected to LMS running on cem-PC.

If you start some music playing and go to the "Now Playing" screen, you
should see volume controls at the bottom right.

27878

On the PC running LMS, in the system tray you should see an LMS icon
(music notes), if you right click this and select "*Open Web Control*",
a browser will open at the LMS web gui.
