I cannot answer this question. I don't use this plugin and deactivated
it in my normal setup. If it's active here it's only because it was
activated by default.

I always uninstall QLMS (uninstall removes path including prefs, cache
etc.) before updating it. In other words, I don't update, I always
install from scratch. I don't even keep the settings (the only two
exceptions are favorites.opml and podcast.prefs (not used here)), I have
a checklist for my setup (not used here).

I understand what you're saying, but I'm not convinced that you would
get more reports, for three reasons. This "issue" is a pretty new one, I
think it started around the time of the introduction of Audio::Scan
1.02. It only affects the x64 version, as far as I can tell (I'd have to
confirm that, though, I only installed it accidentally). And it doesn't
break anything. It just scans the artwork a second time, and my guess
is, it doesn't happen with normal rescans. I wouldn't even have found
out about it weren't it for the errors created when running a fulltext
search while the artwork gets a second scan. That's a pretty small time
window even for larger collections.

But I trust your experience here, of course. Maybe it's QLMS, maybe I do
something wrong here. But "skip", "music path", "playlist path", "open
iPeng"... Even I wouldn't know how to screw that up. Not much room for
improvisation here.

I'm not familiar with QNAP or the package you're using. But please
uninstall LMS, and make sure all those paths really are gone (feel free
to back them to some tar ball or whatever before doing so). Then re-install.

Don't get me wrong, but with the number of LMS installations out there
I'm pretty sure I'd have more reports if this was a real issue in LMS
itself. It must be something about your installation or how you're using it.

Uninstall removes /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer, so I

Clean install: I uninstalled QLMS in QNAP's Web GUI. That removes the
installation folder, too. If the settings are stored somewhere else
besides SlimServer/prefs, they could be inherited, yes.

I asked digimaster if he preactivated some plugins with QLMS. This could
be the source for additional plugins. I also asked him if settings are
copied from the beta version to the regular release (they may be
installed side by side), as the beta does copy the regular version's
settings. But there was no indication that these settings were used when
testing this (otherwise I would have not done this because of
pointlessness).

I was able to log the second scan with a small test library (+ files

It's from a fresh install (QLMS 2.02.02 with the latest LMS nightly).

I'm sorry, no. That log file shows that multiple third party plugins are
installed, some tool is triggering a rescan through JSON/RPC (which
would be you triggering a scan, not LMS itself) and that you've changed
logging settings before the scan was triggered - which means this is not
the initial scan after a new install, but you already configured that
system way beyond what LMS is out of the box.

Get rid of all those customizations (incl. plugins), and your "problem"
will be gone. It's some interaction with what you're doing, not LMS
itself which causes the double scan.

That's strange. This time there was no error. Two things differ from the
last scans, despite the logging.

The Date and Time Plugin was disabled. And I did a reboot and FW update
because the NAS was nagging me. Maybe it was just that. In this case,
sorry, it did not turn it off and on again...

The problem occurs with the QLMS x64 version and the latest nightly
without any 3rd party plugin.

I suspect that the rescan might be triggered the moment I start iPeng.
It looks like it's only the artwork that is rescanned. This time I do
not have any errors in the logs, but I did nothing other than starting
iPeng as of yet. Now I'll start a full text search, but it's not
working. And here come the errors.

The artwork scan is done now:

Code:

The server has finished scanning your media library.
  Total Time: 02:48:27 (Tuesday, 30. October 2018 / 22:36)

But the total time is wrong, as the artwork scan took around 15 minutes
and the first scan finished at 22:20h. For some reason LMS seems to use
the last scan's time information, just replacing the first artwork
scan's time with the second one.

Again, this does not happen with the i*86 version and the x64 version
has worked before, too.

Yes, but I overwrote the logs accidentally (before I could look at them)
and got annoyed, that's why I tried the i*86 version with Custom Scan.
The i*86 version runs flawlessly with the latest Nightly (and with
Custom Scan), so I could just stick to this one.

Meanwhile I'll try the x64 version again without Custom Scan.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS scans twice

2018-10-30 Thread Michael Herger

Could it be that the older Audio::Scan version is causing problems with
some recent commits?

Did you try without Custom Scan?

I just tried the i*86 version of QLMS. Everything works fine, no second
scan here. I also tested an older x64 QLMS (both tests with the latest
nightly) that I know worked: Now there's a second scan.

Could it be that the older Audio::Scan version is causing problems with
some recent commits?

Then Custom Scan is running and done at some point.

Disable Custom Scan and any other 3rd party plugin to see whether it
makes a difference. If it does, re-enable one after the other until
you've found the culprit.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS scans twice

2018-10-29 Thread dolodobendan

I don't know when it started, but LMS scans twice now.

First scan completes

Code:

The server has finished scanning your media library.
  Total Time: 02:39:45 (Sunday, 28. October 2018 / 22:40)

Then Custom Scan is running and done at some point.

Yesterday I caught LMS in the second scanning act. I wondered why Full
Text Search wasn't working and had a look in the Web GUI. LMS was
scanning for some reason.

Code:

The server has finished scanning your media library.
  Total Time: 02:49:59 (Monday, 29. October 2018 / 02:04)

This time, Custom Scan was not scanning. (It should have been triggered
with the regular scan.)

25856 is clean.

25855 is not:
