I cannot answer this question. I don't use this plugin and deactivated it in my normal setup. If it's active here it's only because it was activated by default. mherger wrote: > I'm not familiar with QNAP or the package you're using. I always uninstall QLMS (uninstall removes path including prefs, cache etc.) before updating it. In other words, I don't update, I always install from scratch. I don't even keep the settings (the only two exceptions are favorites.opml and podcast.prefs (not used here)), I have a checklist for my setup (not used here). mherger wrote: > Don't get me wrong, but with the number of LMS installations out there > I'm pretty sure I'd have more reports if this was a real issue in LMS > itself. It must be something about your installation or how you're using > it. I understand what you're saying, but I'm not convinced that you would get more reports, for three reasons. This "issue" is a pretty new one, I think it started around the time of the introduction of Audio::Scan 1.02. It only affects the x64 version, as far as I can tell (I'd have to confirm that, though, I only installed it accidentally). And it doesn't break anything. It just scans the artwork a second time, and my guess is, it doesn't happen with normal rescans. I wouldn't even have found out about it weren't it for the errors created when running a fulltext search while the artwork gets a second scan. That's a pretty small time window even for larger collections. But I trust your experience here, of course. Maybe it's QLMS, maybe I do something wrong here. But "skip", "music path", "playlist path", "open iPeng"... Even I wouldn't know how to screw that up. Not much room for improvisation here. According to this, the only things not being removed when it comes to LMS when deleting /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/ in the uninstall process are But how come your "initial run" would list Music & Artist Information? If the installation itself does not do this, and you don't do it either, then something magic is happening. I'm not familiar with QNAP or the package you're using. But please uninstall LMS, and make sure all those paths really are gone (feel free to back them to some tar ball or whatever before doing so). Then re-install. Don't get me wrong, but with the number of LMS installations out there I'm pretty sure I'd have more reports if this was a real issue in LMS itself. It must be something about your installation or how you're using it. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I also asked him if settings are copied from the beta version to the regular release (they may be installed side by side), as the beta does copy the regular version's settings. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS scans twice
I was able to log the second scan with a small test library (+ files from the playlists). It's from a fresh install (QLMS 2.02.02 with the latest LMS nightly). I'm sorry, no. That log file shows that multiple third party plugins are installed, some tool is triggering a rescan through JSON/RPC (which would be you triggering a scan, not LMS itself) and that you've changed logging settings before the scan was triggered - which means this is not the initial scan after a new install, but you already configured that system way beyond what LMS is out of the box. Get rid of all those customizations (incl. plugins), and your "problem" will be gone. It's some interaction with what you're doing, not LMS itself which causes the double scan. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS scans twice
The problem occurs with the QLMS x64 version and the latest nightly without any 3rd party plugin. I suspect that the rescan might be triggered the moment I start iPeng. It looks like it's only the artwork that is rescanned. This time I do not have any errors in the logs, but I did nothing other than starting iPeng as of yet. Now I'll start a full text search, but it's not working. And here come the errors. The artwork scan is done now: Code: The server has finished scanning your media library. Total Time: 02:48:27 (Tuesday, 30. October 2018 / 22:36) But the total time is wrong, as the artwork scan took around 15 minutes and the first scan finished at 22:20h. For some reason LMS seems to use the last scan's time information, just replacing the first artwork scan's time with the second one.
