Re: Ctrl-mouse left button click sometimes don't load the link into a new tab?

2009-09-07 Thread Stanimir Stamenkov

Fri, 04 Sep 2009 12:39:30 -0700, /Ant/:

Has anyone noticed sometimes SeaMonkey v1.x sometimes doesn't register
ctrl-mouse left button click to load a Web page in a new tab? A bit
annoying that I notice once in a while at home and work. I know right
click and open in a new tab always work. :(

This could happen if there's a 'click' script handler attached to
the link which returns false. The script always gets executed and
the Ctrl+click doesn't take effect, but right-click and Open Link
in New Tab works (as you've noticed) where no script gets executed.

I hope v2.x fixed this.

I don't think SeaMonkey 2.0 (nor Firefox 3.*) changes this.  I think
I remember there was rationale behind this behavior which one could
find in the Mozilla Bugzilla database.

Email problem

2009-09-07 Thread John Belton
I'm having trouble getting the Sea Monkey Mail Client to work with my Yahoo
account, it keeps telling me there is an password failure though the password
I set works OK if I use the Navigator and log in manually. Any help would be
appreciated.

 Oh, we now depend on IE do we? Sigh...

Rather we (or NSS) depend on an updated shell32.dll that gets sneaked in
via IE4.0.

OTOH, Nelson (a.k.a. MrSSL) could patch NSS to use the A version of that
method call. Or SeaMonkey 1.1.18 could live with less entropy (and
reduce our carbon footprint).

How do you press Alt-G with a mouth stick?

There's a Windows' method called something like stickykeys.
Hit the Shift key 5 times and you'll be asked/told about it.

Apparently not on my W98se system!

sticks keys are in W98 under accessibility options

[Some] web pages (college sites) do not bring up a new tab

Right clicking the link does not give the option for a new tab either.

When you encounter something like that,
you can mark the last letter of the text just before the clickable
element
and make the end of the marked block
the first letter of the text just after the element.
Viewing the source code of the selection will show you
(as Stanimir indicated)
that what you have encountered is a script, not a hyperlink.

I have started getting the above error message from my cox.net NNTP
server. I use Cox, Mozilla, and Microsoft news servers, but only get the
error message on the Cox server. Is there a setting in Seamonkey that
I'm missing?

BTW, I've used the Cox server for several years and just started getting
this error. I think it's a Cox problem and have requested support, but
thought I'd attack the problem from this side as well.

Thanks,

I get just about the same error message with Outlook Express, so it's a
Cox problem.

Sorry for the interruption...

Re: Testing For SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 2 - help wanted!

I read Robert Kaiser's message on the 5th asking for testing of the
current SM2 beta. I installed it, tested some things and uncovered an
installation problem in copying Mailbox data from SM1.18.

To whom should I report my findings?

I am not a localizer - did I jump the gun? I'm very experienced but
not a pro.

  Walgreens.com displays the main section of their default page in a 1
  inch column on the right side of the page. It may be the flash content.

  I am using SM 1.1.8.

  Any ideas?

  Apply the following user style:

  @-moz-document domain(walgreens.com) {
#utility-bar, #content { clear: both; }
  }

 Actually make the above:

 @-moz-document domain(walgreens.com) {
#utility-bar, #content { clear: both; }
#allergy-nav  ul  li  a,
#allergy-nav  ul  li { clear: left; }

 }

So on what lines are the offending codes and if in a style sheet, what
page name, so I can pass them along to Walgreens.

W98se, SM 1.1.14 - How does one set/change fonts for Mail Newsgroup panels ?

2009-09-07 Thread Rostyslaw Lewyckyj

W98se, SM 1.1.14
How do I set/change the font size (and the [default] encoding)
for the fonts which are used to display the accounts and folders,
and also in the panel that displays the mail message or news
articles Subject: lines ?
All of a sudden the printing, i.e. the font sizes in these
panels has shrunk and become almost impossible to read, But I
certainly don't want to change my screen to a lower resolution.
i.e. I badly need to increase the font sizes!
Also for news, in some newsgroups e.g. ukr.politics, the article
Subject: lines, are not encoded as ISO-8859-1 and don't have

the magic cookies to switch in the proper translations.
So I'm wondering how to set the default translation for displaying
these Subject: lines to some other encoding, e.g. windows-1251,
or KOI8-U (or actually to be able to switch these on the fly,
would be even better).
