Getting rid of some graphical interface elements
[Currently using version seamonkey-2.17.1] In the attempt to maximize space for website information (size of the urlbar and the tabs), I'd like to get rid of a number of UI elements that are useless to me (see attached image): Toolbar: - The Button to minimize the toolbar. - The dropdown menus behind the back and forward buttons (The same list is already in the Go menu, I don't need the information in three places). - All the icons in the urlbar (link button, bookmark button, rss feed button). (I never use any of them.) - The dropdown menu behind the urlbar. (I don't use it; tab-completion is good enough for me.) - The Help menu entry. (There's nothing in that menu that I'd ever use. As an alternatively it would help a lot if I could change the menu names to something shorter.) Tab bar: - The new tab button. (When I want a new tab, I press ctrl-t.) - That green thing at the beginning of each tab that does not seem to do anything but eat up space. - The dropdown menu at the end of the tab bar. (To switch tabs I hit ctrl-tab or ctrl.shift-tab.) Any help is welcome. :-) Ciao Dominik ^_^ ^_^ ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Hi... Questions...
*Hi I'm Ed in Beckley, West Virginia. I've noticed that when there is a table in an e-mail that there no total table control/edit functionality like in Page Edit Mode. Can that be addresses? Like my tag lines below. They are in a table. I can not edit the table without copy the whole thing, open up compose, paste it in it and edit it there. It would be logical to have full html function in mail as is in edit/compose. I love SeaMonkey for it is like NetScape. I hate IE!!! All my sites are written using SeaMonkey. I have recently had Seamonkey update to version 2.25 on several computers. About that time I started having a problem opening mail received by my Yahoo mail account. just a suggestion
Hi i am not a computer buff, but just upgraded SeaMonkey to the latest version. My only suggestion is that the program add an option to increase or decrease the size of the fonts ( letters, numbers) somewhere where it easily accessible other than having to go to View, Zoom, etc on the top menu. Various websites seem to appear sized differently and it would be beneficial to be able to change the letter size easier Thanks Howard Philipson Schenectady, NY --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Saving emails in compressed format
Hello. I'm using seamonkey / mozilla / netscape since 15 years or more, and have tons of emails saved on my disk, organized by folders. They amount to 2.3 GB as of today, and this is becoming a sort of problem (for example, it's hard to put them on some virtual disk on the web). As far as I understand (also thanks to a chat with KaiRo), they are saved in mbox format. This is basically plain text, a useful feature if I want to edit a saved message, but not optimal in terms of disk usage (not to mention the fact that attachments are not readable with a text editor anyway). I'd like to have an option for saving my messages into a compressed format, and also to convert into such format my existing folders. In case no suitable format already exists, I would propose to save the messages in a gzipped mbox format. Editors like emacs and utilities like less decode gzipped files on the fly, and gzip is public and well supported format. Hence this would not cause many problems, in case one needs to import the messages from another program (at worst, one would need to gunzip each email collection by hand). I hope you'll keep my request in consideration for the near future. Thank you so much for the beautiful work you've been doing for such a long time! page setup
I had my setup for Seamonkey with inbox under bfr...@skybeam.com, followed by local folders. I have lost it for no good reason that I know of. It was set up with inbox directly under my login, bfr...@skybeam.com, with a local folders group directly under the listing of inbox subfolders like sent and trash. Now no subfolders and no local folders with lots of saved messages. I have tried to reinstall seamonkey and checked it's setup, to no avail. I have saved stuff which I tried to restore, to no avail. I am in a retirement community, where I am the most experienced computer user, so no one to lean on. Addendum: I'm Fixed! If you're stubborn and don't want to do it the easy way, you may be able to register the errant DLL. At Edit - Preferences - Browser - Helper Applications I have Bzip archive, Gzip archive and Zip archive file types set to Always Ask. Just in case, you know, you never know, I'll set Edit - Preferences - Browser - Downloads to the other setting, close SM, and then tomorrow I'll re-download Linux SM2.29b2 and hope it goes to the Download folder, then I'll reset to the Always Ask setting, re-boot SM and try again. ;-( Here I am, having re-boot SM and downloaded Linux SM2.29b2 again. This time I had SM set up to save Downloads to the Download folder, which I did *and* the Download Manager opened up, as it should, to show me the downloads progress. Now I'll re-set to Always Ask and see what happens. :-) Re-boot SM, went to http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/releases/2.29b2/contrib/ and, sure enough, with the Always Ask pre-selected, I *did not* get the second screen asking where I wanted to save the file, *nor* did the Download Manager open up!! Ho! Hmm!! Is there anyone else here that uses both Windows7 (WOW64) and Linux (x86_64) and is willing to try downloading the Linux version using their Windows7 version?? Q, maybe?? I had done this with my windows 7 pro 32 bits - User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 SeaMonkey/2.26.1 and i downloaded seamonkey-2.29b2.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/releases/2.29b2/contrib/seamonkey-2.29b2.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 with a single click, and i have the choice of the download directory. Sorry, Ray, just to make it absolutely clear to me, 1. At Edit_Preferences-Browser-Downloads, under When saving a file do you have Always ask me selected, and, 2. When then clicking on the file link above, do you mean you got the small window giving you the option to Open with . or to Save File, and then selecting Save File, you get another small screen asking where on your hard disk you want to save the file?? I'm sorry if it seems I'm asking the same thing over and over again, but I think English is not your first language (but you do pretty good with it!), so I just want to be sure!! But on the Helper Apllication, i did not have an entry for Bzip. Bzip and Gzip are two Zip formats that I've only seen used on Linux. I don't even know if Windows can handle them at all!! -- Daniel User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.29 Build identifier: 20140829003846 or User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.26 Build identifier: 20140408191805 ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Two issues that I cant resolve: first each incoming e-mail shows a long list of code begining with the message ID. How do I get rid of this visble code. Second when sea monkey opens it indicates that the following file is missing: mozalloc.dll Where can I find this file and where should it be stored when found? Thanks for any help. Mike Generally speaking, the easiest way to deal with the DLL problem is to uninstall SeaMonkey and reinstall it. Something is amiss with your installation. If you're stubborn and don't want to do it the easy way, you may be able to register the errant DLL. Search for the filename on your SeaMonkey install volume and then use Regsvr32 to unregister and reregister the DLL. If you don't know how to use Regsvr32, Google it. Be aware that the path for the 64-bit and 32-bit versions are different. Choose wisely. For the first issue, I'm wondering whether you have View | Headers | All selected. SeaMonkey offers differing levels of header detail. Just a guess, though, not knowing exactly where you're seeing the header information. For #2: You don't have to uninstall... Just reinstall over the old directory and that will probably solve the problem. Onno Perhaps, but if there are file permissions issues, installing into the existing structure may not resolve the problem. For the additional 2-3 minutes it takes to uninstall, it just makes sense, I think, to go the extra distance. Page Display issue help needed
I'm having a strange page display/formatting issue I can't quite solve. If I got to Digikey.com and put in say 0805 COG in the search the display is scrunched up and has a 3M thrown in and the word Capacitors is below where it should be. See: http://ashevillecommunity.org/hawker/DK-moz-bug.jpg Sofar Digikey is the only page I seem to be having issues with. My home computer running the same version of Seamonkey looks fine. Starting in Safe Mode does not help. Disabling JavaScript in the browser under advanced settings puts it back the way it should be. My home computer has JavaScript enabled and all the same check boxes however and it works fine so there is something else I am missing. What could be wrong? How can I fix this? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
