No, mozilla.support.seamonkey is not moderated. The moderator for
mozilla.support.thunderbird and mozilla.support.firefox (the same
person) is often far too agressive. A worse problem is that he is not
available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; this means that a message
might get delayed several hours or overnight.

"Ignore warning" doesn't train the Junk Mail Control feature. It
basically says, "I know it's junk, but quit nagging me."

In order to train the JMC feature, you have to mark the message as "not
junk."

Message | Mark | As not Junk or SHIFT-J will do it.

After a few of those, SM should take the hint.

In Firefox Nightly 59.0a1, I get an Initialization Failure message with
a Retry button or "X" to close the message.

Retry button just gives me the error again. Clicking the "X" sent me to
a blank page with a spinning throbber like the page is trying to load.

Setting Tracking Protection from Always to Only in Private Windows and
trying to reload the page gives me another message, "Oops! In order to

browser.", with instructions on how to do that.

Since it is already disabled I clicked the "Ok" button and I get a
Crackle web page with a black box where the video would be with a
spinning throbber.

FWIW, I got the same Initialization Failure message when I tried with SM
2.49.1.

Using Chromium I get Page Not Found.

I have a filter that's working well, and I'm not seeing any of that

I have about 8-10 words that are commonly used in subject lines, where I
have the filter set to "Match any of the following, and then the Action
section set to "ignore thread".

When you're doing this kind of filter, the easiest mistake to make is
that the default setting is "Match all of the following", and you need
to make sure it gets set to "Match any of the following".

Smith

My filter contains these words:
PEDOFILO
ASSASSIN
PERVERTITO
PEDERASTA
BASTARDO
MAFI
PORNO
CRIMINALE
PEDOPHILE
NAZI

Along with NSN Smith's advice, I also have 'Match any of the following'
selected, and I have 2 actions selected: 'Ignore Thread' and 'Delete
Message'. I don't see any of that stuff any more; can't recall how long
it's been since I have seen it.

SMTP is for sending messages.

Reception is handled via POP3 or IMAP.

POP3 downloads everything. IMAP synchronizes with the server.

1. Right-click on the account, and select "Settings".
2. Select the "Synchronization & Storage" panel for the account.
3. In the top section, you should be able to set it to download messages for
offline use, and even specify which folders.

Is this supposed to download the message bodies for newsgroups? It doesn't
seem to work there. I find the messages aren't downloaded until you view them.

I'm pretty sure POP3 has the ability to download just headers and not
message bodies. Eudora allows a user to do just that using POP3.
