2015-05-04 Thread Reeva Webb via Talk
Hi, i was going through bookmarks and went to the knowledge base article
1089 on steps to use we with zt. I noticed this article was updated in dec.
2014. I downloaded the we config file for zt in july 2014. I was wondering
if the we config file for zt is the same in the updated kb article or do i
need to download it again? I'm using we 9.1 and zt mag/reader 10.1 on a 64
bit windows 8.1 laptop.

Thanks

improve the relationship between Window-eyes and Sticky Keys (a Microsoft

Hi Nick,

I changed the subject of this message since the problem you're having seems to
be that you're looking for an easy way of switching between open windows rather
than the awesome task of attempting to get Stickikeys to work more easily for
this purpose.
Chip Orange is the author of an app called Hotwind which allows you to assign
hotkeys to open windows.
Also, under Windows 7 (and beyond, I assume), the WindowsKey combined with the
numbers on the Qwerty area of the keyboard will activate open windows, the
numbers running in the order they were first opened.

If you want to change the volume and have it stay at that level, all the time,
open your control panel with control - backspace, go to screen, then voice.
Tab to volume and adjust the volume. Then tab to save settings and hit
enter. Then, the volume won't revert, when you re-boot.

Hope this helps.

you don't say if this is a laptop or desktop.
with my desktop i leave the volume full volume number 9 and use the volume
control on the powered speakers.
i would be careful useing the control alt arrow keys to change the voices.
most computers that have real tec audio chipsets and they use the same keys
to rotate the screen sideeways and upside down and would need to be disabled
first before you can use the w e keys to change the voices on the fly.
and even so you can still save these changes. you do not have to open the w
e control panel to manually change the screen, keyboard and mouse voices
from the control panel.

if you only have 9 options in the w e control panel. open the w e help pull

now go to general then go to startup options and uncheck log on with speech

If not, you could always google html and blind and you'll probably turn up some

I think you can also create a page as a Word document, and then save it as

if you just want to communicate some organized text (such as a blog) it should
work well enough.

Thanks Rod.

I do have to offer a correction however; the windows key plus a number key can
be used to activate items on your task bar, not necessarily open windows. My
task bar has several items pinned to it before it begins to show running
programs, and so if you use the windows key plus a number, you are more than
likely going to start some program running. Also, windows which you have open,
but which don't have an associated icon on the task bar, cannot be opened with
the windows key plus number method (for instance, a window from a WE app).

Whether or not a taskbar program is running, you get some interesting
context-menu options with programs that are on the task bar or the start
menu. For task bar, Windows-T gets you on the task bar, and right and left
arrows select a program. Once selected, the appplications key, context menu
key (if you call it that) or shift-F10 give you a list of options pertaining
to that program. This is usually recently-opened files, but will be recent
web sites in the case of web browsers, or various parts of the program in
the case of Outlook. If you want programs to be available on the taskbar in
this way, find them on the desktop or the start menu, and explore their
context menus. One of the options will often be pin to taskbar.
I hope my explanation made sense.

Hi Nick,

I changed the subject of this message since the problem you're having seems
to be that you're looking for an easy way of switching between open windows
rather than the awesome task of attempting to get Stickikeys to work more
easily for this purpose.
Chip Orange is the author of an app called Hotwind which allows you to
assign hotkeys to open windows.
Also, under Windows 7 (and beyond, I assume), the WindowsKey combined with
the numbers on the Qwerty area of the keyboard will activate open windows,
the numbers running in the order they were first opened.

Hth,

Rod

Sorry, I don’t want to hijack this list, but I’m wondering if there’s a way
to improve the relationship between Window-eyes and Sticky Keys (a Microsoft
accessibility feature)? This has been a problem since Windows-7.
Alt-tabbing among windows becomes quite clumsy and it takes some trying to
be in the window you want.

Window-eyes and Spotify

2015-05-04 Thread Donald L. Roberts via Talk
I apologize for the somewhat misleading subject line. Read on to
understand more completely. Additionally, the below problem is not
unique to Window-eyes as JFW 16 exhibits the same behavior. So I doubt
that the screen reader per se is causes this, but I would appreciate an
explanation if someone can come up with one.

I am a free subscriber to the Spotify music service. At present,
Spotify has an upgrade offer with a teaser rate of 99 cents for the
first three months of their premium service.

When I attempt to upgrade, however, after entering the relevant info,
there is a captcha to solve. I am using the latest version of Firefox
and Webvisum which solves the capcha. After entering the solution,
tabbing to and activating the upgrade button, I am again asked to enter
the captcha info. I am fairly certain that this page contains some
flash but wish someone could take a look to see whether flash is the
culprit.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to check it out.

I wanted to add that if you are not comfortable coding in HTML, CSS and
Javascript, you might want to consider using a content management system to
build and maintain your site. I am aware of at least one other Window-Eyes
user who uses WordPress to independently manage a blog based website. The
administrative dashboard that is used to add and manage content is quite
usable if you are familiar with using Window-Eyes to browse and interact
with web pages. Because of the dynamic nature of the Wordpress dashboard, I
would recommend you use Window-Eyes 9.1 as the old browse mode wasn't
designed to handle the type of interactive web content you will encounter.
Most web hosts include Wordpress support and might be able to assist you
with setting it up. And, I also don't want to leave out Drupal. This is
another content management system that has made a number of improvements
over the past few years to become more accessible including their
administrative dashboard. Both of these op tions are free to use and open
source. Good luck!

Marc

Mine don't. They don't until I go to empty deleted items folder and enter
on it. If you don't want them deleted, there is a setting that has to be
changed. Pam.

don't delete them. grin
open a context menu on the messages and use the move command to move them to
a folder of your own that you have created.
the messages in the deleted folder are suppose to delete each time you close
wlm unless you change the settings.
with wlm 2012 open the applications pull down. go to options/mail. to the
advanced control tab then arrow down to maintenance
and uncheck delete messages on exit.

Subject: deletted items folder question.

   Good evening all,

How can I save any messages that I have deleted from my inbox, to store in
my deleted items folder too read at a later date? It seems that whenever I
go too the deleted items folder, the messages that I have put in there
disappear from that folder. Is there a setting within the options oamenu in
WLm where I can change a setting, so that this doesnb#0;t happen?
Ib#0;m running windows 7 64 bit on an HP laptop computer, with
windoweyes 9 point one.

All help advice, and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Al
