Zoomtext fusion (we version) acting strangely.

2017-05-29 Thread Reeva Webb via Talk
Ok, it's been a week or two since i've turned on my laptop. Had to do
business on laptop a hour or so ago. Turns on laptop and has updates from
app central, ok installs updates. All of a sudden i hear we start up sound
and any time i do anything speech is talking random letters and numbers at
me. Shuts down zt fusion and restarts computer. After restart, hears we
start up sound again but i have enough vision to tell the zt fusion graphic
is on screen still. Graphic goes away and now all my settings for
magnification and the we based screenreading side are back at default. Um,
wtf is going on? Did the update for the windows enhance app do this? I was
expecting end of life msg. but not for everything to be reset. Using hp
laptop running windows 8.1 64 bit.

Hi,

If you have zt 10 installed, you will have to remove it to get 11 to work. that
is taken from the fs cast from 140. Hth.

Ok, saw new jaws version of zoomtext fusion was released yesterday. I
brought this up out here, attempted to email doug geoffray (sorry if i
spelled last name wrong) email address that he emailed the list with and it
came back as undeliverable. Also wrote using contact form on vfo website
but hasn't heard anything in response. I just called sales to ask how much
upgrading would be and the answer was $200 for the upgrade. Personally,
since the people who bought the we based version of zt fusion are in the
same boat as we people, i'm not saying the product should be given to us
free, at least a discounted upgrade price should be offered. While i
understand the name zoomtext fusion is being used, it's a different
program. Obviously jaws is the screen reader and not we but also, for
zoomtext to work with jaws, zoomtext hotkeys were changed. I can't get
clear answer on this but my understanding is that in the new zoomtext
fusion the neospeech voices kate and paul will not be there. Which selling
a zoomtext product without them is like selling jaws without eloquence.
Kate has been my voice for screenreading for almost 14 years. I need her. I
bought the we version of zoomtext fusion as i was using we for office and
zoomtext together and having them work well with each other was what i
needed. I spent $400 to buy the we version of fusion. As it stands, if i
upgrade, $200 for the software, $100 to neospeech to buy kate and paul if
they ain't included and $200 for a sma. I'm now spending more tohen what i
spent to buy fusion in the first place. I haven't touched jaws since middle
school, while i'm sure i can get basics of jaws if they somewhat similar to
15 years back. Anything passed that paying for training is something i
might have to do. Not to mention there are several we apps i used with
fusion. I have no idea if similar scripts exist for jaws. I'm not trying to
be whinning entitled person. Y'all say this isn't the fs of the past and
y'all do y'all customers right. I'm willing to give y'all a chance.

voice over works with so much more stuff than any of the Windows screen

people who are contacting ther Rep's and Congresmen and Washington to
denounce the NFB and their ways. Halleua.

VFO is going to be kissing my rear soon. I'm already making plans to make
the switch to MAC. The Apple/Mac OS is just more stable, and the built in
voice over works with so much more stuff than any of the Windows screen

RE: ZoomText Fusion

2017-03-08 Thread Vaughan Dodd via Talk
The response depends upon the nature of the question.

For instance: a positive response will be likely if the question is a
Window-Eyes support related question.

However: product development and future viability questions won't be answered
beyond a commitment towards the future of Window-eyes. People often say here:
"we will hear about the new release when it is released" which is all that Doug
can say in this environment of corporate stealth and secrecy.

I'm not attacking the notion of commercial sensitivity. All contractors are
also subject to usual non-disclosure stuff. However: we are finding out about
VFO's future intentions in a very underhand way. Rumours happen (like the
demise of Fusion) not through an announcement, but by people searching for
information and individuals talking to individuals.

Vaughan.

Re: ZoomText Fusion

2017-03-08 Thread Stephen Clark via Talk
You can probably assume that Window-eyes will be out of development
completely - If it hasn't been already. This includes the stand-alone
product, including the free version you get if you own a copy of MS Office.

Let's face it, for software to keep up with the latest security,
correcting bugs and working with new technology it has to be
continuously supported and worked on. Otherwise I know I wouldn't trust
it. Whatever the case I hope some one from AI Squared would give us some
official announcement.

So frustrating!

Hi. Even if JAWS became free with office, which I doubt will happen, In
the short period, it would allow people on low income to get a pro screen

RE: Anyone using Zoomtext Fusion -- any problems with Window Eyes?

2017-01-08 Thread Sky Mundell via Talk
Hi Ryan. My advice to you, if that happens, is to reinstall Zoomtext
Fusion, but while reinstalling Fusion, close down any auntie virus program.
Often times, I have seem Window-Eyes and Fusion crash on some systems, and,
there are some people who blame the crashing on these products. In
actuality, part of the crashes is because your auntie-virus program is
flagging files that Window-Eyes and Fusion need to run properly. So, before
installing Fusion, or Window-Eyes at work, make sure to shut down any
auntie virus program before reinstalling your software.

I've experienced significant problems with Zoomtext Fusion because there

are times that Window Eyes stopped working in the middle of doing something
and there is ALT plus CTRL plus W to restart Window Eyes but that is no

I use Window Eyes program at home and it is working just fine

I hope I am not alone in Zoomtext Fusion problems and I am not happy about
that because it creates problem on a regular basis. I've uninstalled and
reinstalled the software and I still have those problems.

Grrr hit the send key before i was done. My biggest concern however, i had
a long chat with ai2 IN yesterday is people who would be coming over from
we for office like me. Who bought voices. Yes, i know fusion comes with
vocalizer expressive and neospeech voices. I bought classic english voices
for we for office for vocalizer jill nuance got rid of her when they came
out with expressive. I would really like to be able to use the voices i
bought for we for office with fusion. Not to mention people who bought
eloquence and dectalk for we for office. Yes, i know you can buy sapi5
eloquence now but it's double what ai2 charges. If fusion is basically
using we as the screen reader anyway, i don't think it's too much to ask to
be able to use the voices we bought.

FYI, Fusion includes additional layouts (including one for Window-Eyes users

You can also switch to a Window-eyes layout.
The default layout uses default Zoomtext keys, and when appropriate, screen

Grrr hit the send key before i was done. My biggest concern however, i had
a long chat with ai2 IN yesterday is people who would be coming over from
we for office like me. Who bought voices. Yes, i know fusion comes with
vocalizer expressive and neospeech voices. I bought classic english
voices
for we for office for vocalizer jill nuance got rid of her when they came
out with expressive. I would really like to be able to use the voices i
bought for we for office with fusion. Not to mention people who bought
eloquence and dectalk for we for office. Yes, i know you can buy sapi5
eloquence now but it's double what ai2 charges. If fusion is basically
using we as the screen reader anyway, i don't think it's too much to ask
to
be able to use the voices we bought.

Grrr hit the send key before i was done. My biggest concern however, i had
a long chat with ai2 IN yesterday is people who would be coming over from
we for office like me. Who bought voices. Yes, i know fusion comes with
vocalizer expressive and neospeech voices. I bought classic english
voices

for we for office for vocalizer jill nuance got rid of her when they came
out with expressive. I would really like to be able to use the voices i
bought for we for office with fusion. Not to mention people who bought
eloquence and dectalk for we for office. Yes, i know you can buy sapi5
eloquence now but it's double what ai2 charges. If fusion is basically
using we as the screen reader anyway, i don't think it's too much to ask
to

be able to use the voices we bought.
