Dear Samuel, Welcome to osmph. To add a bridge, simply split a line/way from the beginning and end of the bridge. Then add a tag bridge=yes to the newly created way. Make sure to add the correct name of the bridge. We normally, don't add a POI/point to a bridge since it is in most cases part of a road. I'd consider valuable to know whether the data was _only_ traced from imagery without knowing the place or if there is additional knowledge / a survey, but most of the source tags read only tracing from xy-imagery-provider and that doesn't tell you much because you already see in the data if it fits some aerial imagery or not. cheers, Martin ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

Re: [OSM-talk] Okay, this is just cool (Lockport, NY)
2011/3/31 Pieren pier...@gmail.com I don't understand why the debat about street view is always slipping to aerial imagery controversy which is a different case for the reasons I already explained. You didn't explain, You wrote ToU is about Google Maps and their third party aerial imagery, not about street view pictures. Aerial imagery is a different, more complex issue because images are transformed. This doesn't say anything about streetview images which are also transformed (they create panoramas out of single images). They also relate the single images to other images and to a geographical position. I don't think you can say they just give you a simple photograph, rather they allow you to access their database of elaborated images. cheers, Martin ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

This was the original question - but finally the goal is to get the thing mapped at all ... But, since I live in Vercelli and I sit quite literally a hundred metres away from the Via Romea Francigena, I'm interested in its mapping. I started mapping Via Romea (not with appendix Francigena!) in my area: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?relation=908428 If you seek for the string Via Romea in the relation analyser http://ra.osmsurround.org/search.jsp?value=via+romea you get some other route references and those are refering to the Francigena route. As far as I know they are different - at least the German part. I can try to find out more about this - finally its just another touristic effort. The Francigena is a variant that originates somewhere in Tuscany, goes north-east towards Lucca, Pietrasanta and Pontremoli, crosses the Appennines and goes up to Mortara, Vercelli, then Ivrea and France. There are WikiPedia entries about Via Romea Francigena http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_Francigena and describe it as way from Canterbury to Roma. There are several routes through Germany which connect to this route. The Via Romea I mean is quite new, de facto not present in Internet but you can see a raw map here: http://www.unterwegs-auf-alten-strassen.de/index.php?historische-pilgerrouten The red line is what we are watching for. I'd appreciate it if you could keep me posted on news about the Via Romea project :-) So finally it is worth mapping both routes and you are free to tackle both. :-) Kind regards Andreas. -- http://fam-tille.de ___ Talk-it mailing list Talk-it@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-it

Ciao a tutti.
