Re: [talk-ph] Help in geolocating evacuation centers for DSWD (Habagat 2013 response)
Dear everyone, So here it goes. DSWD have a list of Evacuation Centers (EC) for several regions. The list is in this Google Spreadsheet [0]. The ECs highlighted in yellow are those which has a geolocation, you can see the geolocated ECs in the map [1]. How to help: 1. Go over the list of ECs in the spreadsheet and look for the EC you know the location. 2. Copy the EC name (Select Ctrl+C). 3. Go the the map and go to the location of the EC. 4. Click the Edit on the top left sidebar. 5. Add a placemark where the EC is located (placemark icon on the top left corner of the map). 6. Paste the name of the EC in the Title of the baloon popo-up. 7. Hit the Save button. 8. Go back to the spreadsheet and highlight the name celle of the geolocated ECs in yellow. cc'ed here are the DSWD team in charge of the location. Please send them a message if you need write access to the spreadsheet and map. You can also drag the existing placemarks to improve the location. Thanks! You might be wondering why I am asking you to map using Google Maps, very simply, this is what DSWD is using right now. We can help them by adopting existing tools they use. Hi Glenn, I've seen all this happening before as I'm monitoring talk-fr and it's indeed quite discouraging to see that people like pnorman with a bit more power to wield than the rest if us, seem to deem it necessary to threaten to block hard working contributors. And I've already been sending him angry mails on th subject when French users have effectively been blocked, so he knows my point of view. Re: [OSM-talk-be] Possible problem with Urbis data import in Brussels
Hi, I must admit I had to search for a while but these are some of the main reasons for a separate account: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Draft/Edit_Policy/dedicated_user_account_for_imports Also when having separate accounts imported data can be more easily identified and attribution can be on the user. In the guidelines it states that you can also create separate per user 'username_import' accounts to keep track of everyones progress: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines#Use_a_dedicated_user_account Also no reason here to get discouraged I believe. There is a need for some of these rules to keep the project going but OpenStreetMap is still a very open project, anybody can still pretty much do whatever they want except for some small technicalities. Re: [OSM-talk-be] Possible problem with Urbis data import in Brussels
Hi everyone, As i'm a bit surprise that the warning raise only now after more than 2month of integration, I feel that the DWG is legit to raise concerns about any unadvertized ongoing imports. Now, as the urbis import look more like a manual process than a bulk and blind edit and that the effect is really limited in surface I don't consider it as a risk for the osm community as the tiger import was for example...( the data quality is also a lot better ). I think that one think that make this import more DWG friendly is to be sure to properly replace the existing buildings ( Replace Geometry (Ctrl+Shift+G) with utilsplugin2 ) and to properly check for duplicate and other problems. regarding the 2 account as long as we stick with proper changeset tagging i don't really see the point.. I would like to: Select a bounding box (I can produce lat/lon) Get a list of street names' Output a CSV file (or other text file) Select a bounding box (I can produce lat/lon) Get a list of POIs Output a CSV file (or other text file) For these I would also like to be able to get any other attributes/ keys like description text or other things. Thank you to each of you for all the work you do! Hi, Sorry for a bit delayed answer but GDAL/OGR OSM driver developer had to do a couple of fixes for making this task to perform well. So you can do all that with GDAL OSM driver and SQL query language. Output can be despite CSV any other format that is supported by GDAL/OGR for writing. http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_osm.html http://www.gdal.org/ogr/ogr_formats.html Install a very fresh GDAL development version, about rev. 24970 or higher. For Windows you can get it from gisinternals http://www.gisinternals.com/sdk/ You want to query streetname from osm lines and name and probably some other attributes from osm points and from a limited area. It is possible but quite slow to create such CSV file directly from OSM data file that can be in osm-xml or pbf format with following command ogr2ogr -f CSV streets.csv finland.osm.pbf -sql select distinct name from lines where highway is not null order by name -spat 24.821 60.123 25.259 60.317 However, it is faster, especially if you want to do more queries, to convert OSM data first into Spatialite database. Here is a quite optimised command to use as a template ogr2ogr -f SQLite -dsco spatialite=yes finland.sqlite finland.osm.pbf --config SQLITE_SYNCHRONOUS OFF --config OSM_COMPRESS_NODES YES -progress This conversion takes a few minutes with 130 MB finland.osm.pbf file. Then you can repeat the first streetname search and it will be pretty fast ogr2ogr -f CSV streets.csv finland.sqlite -sql select distinct name from lines where highway is not null order by name -spat 24.821 60.123 25.259 60.317 The poi file can be created in a similar way. Let's say you want to get all the amenities and names for those. The command is ogr2ogr -f CSV poi.csv finland.sqlite -sql select name, amenity from points where amenity is not null order by amenity -spat 24.821 60.123 25.259 60.317 Note 1. Read the OSM driver manual page. The second command does not work before editing the defauld osmconf.ini file so that amenity is included in the points layer attributes. Note 2. There is a little bug in ogr2ogr CSV driver that may prevent creating a new csv file if there is already another CSV file with an uncommon structure in the same directory. The one-column CSV file that was created in the first example has such a structure. Delete the file or rename it with another extension before running the second example. Re: [OSM-talk] Making iD the default editor on osm.org - some numbers
Thanks so much for running those numbers! Actual data is helpful in a conversation that has contained quite a few assumptions. (Continuing the assumption trend...) Anecdotally, as someone who only became an active editor last year, I found P2 more accessible than JOSM as a new contributor. I had an experienced contributor show me how to use both, but would usually default to P2. I could tell that JOSM was more feature-rich, but I found it overwhelming. I felt safer in P2 as i was getting started. I'm not a new contributor anymore, but I think that iD is following this trend. Even now, I almost always default to iD when I'm editing-- the cleaner interface is less overwhelming to me, and it's very rare that I'm doing something that isn't supported by iD. While there's no doubt a fair margin of error here, what I conclude from this is while it's still much too easy for new contributors to make mistakes with our current editors, there's some indication that they make fewer errors (especially serious ones) with iD than with P2. one might conclude that Josm is the best suggestion for newbies (but there are probably too few numbers in this survey to be sure).
Hallo Stephan, Stephan Knauss schrieb: [1] http://www.forwiss.uni-passau.de/extern/doc/BA_Stier_Reimar.pdf nette Arbeit.
Hallo an alle, solange alte Strukturen, z. -- View this message in context: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/Nodi-sovrapposti-tp5774252p5774501.html Sent from the Italy General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Talk-it mailing list Talk-it@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-it

[Talk-it] R: EuroVelo 7

___ Talk-co mailing list Talk-co@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-co ___ Talk-co mailing list Talk-co@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-co ___ Talk-co mailing list Talk-co@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-co
/Leif Den 22. aug. 2013 10.33 skrev Sonny B. [Talk-se] Votering: Reply-To-header i mejllistan
Paraku on see Regio Streetview auto: 4 GoPro kaamerat teevad 720p videot, oma 64G sd-kaardile, autos salvestab arvuti GPS-i jälge missiooni planeerimise GIS-iga. Timestamp-iga viivad andmed pärast kokku. Nad müüvad oma kogutud infot veebipõhise vaatajaga, praegu ei suutnud avalikku infot leida hindade kohta, aga umbes mõnisada eurot kuus võis see olla. Konkrétně by mě zajímala wms vrstva výškopis: geodetické body s nadmořskou výškou, vrstevnice, ... .
