Re: No spell chacker available in beta 16
Hello Tony, I was fine with pre 17 beta's, this ones gone well downhill for me. For me personally TB! is getting worse. I know this is a beta and we're supposed to test it but surely version .17 in a series should be better than v .1 and not worse. Whether it may be apparent or understood by many, or not, what RIT guys are doing with this beta series is a _major_ (quite major) re-work or re-design of TB. TB is quite a complex program in itself and it would be quite difficult, almost impossible, to do such a big change as a whole and all at once and then come out with a beta to discover and fix bugs. They are doing this in phases or by functionality blocks (if I may call it that way) even though some additions or changes may not be apparent from the outside to most mortals. This explains why some new betas may be seen as a step backwards from the outside because already fixed bugs seem to appear again. Have you seen mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] from Gleason Pace? I fully agree with him. Having been in software development myself for over 25 years (not in the last 10 or so though) I can say that I think RIT guys have taken the safe path and are on the right track by doing what they are doing with this beta series. My reasons to revert to 3.0.2.10
Hello all, After deleting my existing tbuser.def and a couple of tweaks I find the last beta, v3.0.9.17 quite stable and would certainly like to use it all day long for my work, which is the way I like to test betas. However, quite unfortunately and as I think I have explained before in this list, the threading by Reference+Subject which was introduced with this beta series is a no-no for me and that forces me to revert all the way to 3.0.2.10. I know RIT guys intend to re-instate the possibility of threading by Reference _only_ (and hopefully allowing also Reference+Subject to satisfy everyone) and I can understand that this is not a high priority at this time for most users and therefore for RIT. But it does force me to use 3.0.2.10 during my works hours and I am sorry about it. -- Best regards, Miguel A. 3.0.9.17 Issues
Hello TBbeta, I was just about to answer a question that had been asked about assigning a shortcut to Mark As Junk when new messages arrived. This had the undesired effect of the message I was about to answer disappearing as it had already been marked as read. This is an old issue and had been corrected. I had noticed that someone had already reported this as showing up again, but this has a difference. This time the message seems to have completely disappeared. I can find it nowhere. This led me to do a search in The Bat folder for the message, which it failed to find, but I can now confirm a previous message about new messages arriving once the search has finished arriving in the search box even though they don't match the search. Back to the original post which I no longer have. It was about trying to add a Mark as Junk shortcut. When I tried adding it to the menu bar it worked fine and did not require a reboot, but did do some fancy screen redrawing and added the Mark As Junk button to the menu bar. Upon removing the button from the menu bar the shortcut still works, although I can not find the shortcut listed anywhere. -- Best regards, Stuart mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.9.17 Return on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current beta is 3.0.9.17 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Hello Alexander, Thats still not fixed? What a shame, you reported it already a month ago, and this is REALLY a show-stopper. It doesn't need to be fixed as it is not a bug, it was a change requested by (apparently) many users. 9Val told me it will be changed again, probably to include both options: threading by Reference only and by Reference+Subject. It just has low priority at the moment. -- Best regards, Miguel A.
