Re: IMAP: Wrong Body Loaded, and 'Browse Deleted Messages'
Hello Jonathan, JA I do have a theory on this, because I used to get this when spending time JA off of the betas (or TB in general). I have a feeling that because you'd JA not had it open in such a while, and that the folders were completely out JA of sync (in terms of what TB has cached, and what your imap server has), JA TB probably thinks it is better to fetch the message listing again. This JA would probably issue a crazy fetch command like: JA UID FETCH 1:* {fetch options here} Historically, it uses FETCH 1:* (UID FLAGS) to get valid UIDs and flagssynced. I'm thinking about cheapiest way to do it - perhaps search for every kind of flag will consume less traffic but will be a little bit harder to handle for server. If you have not visited folder before it will get envelopes too. -- 9Val Current beta is 3.0.9.18 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
Re: IMAP: Attachment retrieval and viewing/saving issues
Hello Jonathan, JA I doubt it'd be that difficult. Just add BODYSTRUCTURE to the IMAP JA call when fetching the original message information. That'd also JA quickly establish if there were attachments, and if there are pgp/mime JA parts too... For example: It is added when using IMAP Fine-tune option 'Retrieve messages structures together with headers' JA You could, if your server supports it, add more connections. Under JA Account Properties, there is an IMAP Fine Tune where you can JA increase the number of connections. There is even an option to JA dedicate a connection to reading messages, but if they wrote the JA whole connection stuff in a smart manor, it'd use whichever JA connection is free, and always reserve one for reading. Unfortunately not all servers allow simultaneous connection to one mailbox (my main account is located on such server). So currently TB! tries to 'simulate' lock and avoid two request to same folder from different connections. It will be implemented as option and then reveserved connection will take all benefits of such method -- 9Val Current beta is 3.0.9.18 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Hello 9Val, Monday, April 25, 2005, 8:52:24 AM, you wrote: Hello Jonathan, JA I do have a theory on this, because I used to get this when spending time JA off of the betas (or TB in general). I have a feeling that because you'd JA not had it open in such a while, and that the folders were completely out JA of sync (in terms of what TB has cached, and what your imap server has), JA TB probably thinks it is better to fetch the message listing again. This JA would probably issue a crazy fetch command like: JA UID FETCH 1:* {fetch options here} Historically, it uses FETCH 1:* (UID FLAGS) to get valid UIDs and flags synced. Ouch. I'm sure that'd probably be a good cause as to why TB kept disconnecting on me. I have some folders that are over 65k folders, I'm sure my IMAP server might take a while to start processing all those files. I'm thinking about cheapiest way to do it - perhaps search for every kind of flag will consume less traffic but will be a little bit harder to handle for server. That's a difficult task to do. The UID FETCH 1:* is probably the easiest way to do it, and doesn't really add too much of a load. Re: Cascading AVs in IMAP folders
Hi Jernej and list, am Montag, 25. April 2005 um 20:50 schrieben Sie: [cascading AV] As I'm not at home the last couple of weeks, I've a complete fresh installed version of TB (starting with 3.0.1.33 upgraded to 3.0.9.19 this evening. So there is also one new IMAP Account I use to read mails and import them later on into my regular message base when I'm back again. All POP accounts do forwards to this one IMAP account. I've had this for a long time now with my old account I can remember bad behavior with IMAP since V2 - sincerely testing IMAP since 3.0.2 something with better results in each new beta. Before I started getting this AV, TB would usually get stuck updating the IMAP account, and I had to first switch to a non-IMAP account, delete all requests for the IMAP task (sometimes there were hundreds of such queued requests, so I had to hold the Delete key for a while to get rid of them all), delete the task itself (just deleting the task without removing it's requests first didn't work), and switch back to the IMAP account. I can remember that behavior starting for me in 3.0.2.10 (or so, multiple IMAP connections were just introduced) and remain constant even when switching back to the stable release. But that didn't occur here since 3.0.9.13. Speaking of that: just now this odd behavior starts again in ..9.19 - socks tweaking? :-( I have a lot of nested folders in this account, no problems the last four weeks - only this evening my inbox get stuck again :-( Never seen an AV with this IMAP account. FWIW: this account is an administrator account and password protected. FWIW 2. all folders are regularly purged and compressed via scheduler - maintenance as I have limited memory on this server. -- Regards Michael Current beta is 3.0.9.19 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Issues of Group by date mode
Hello all, I have some issues for this feature: - I gave no unread messages, but group names Today, Yesterday, Last week etc. are displayed bold. - when I select group name and want to use items in Thread context menu item like mark as read or delete, they don't work. - sometimes I see number of total items like (2 total) or (1 unread out of 5 total), but manytimes not, I don't know, why it is not included allways, it is good to know this - I like this mode, but there is no customisation for it, for example I don't need group More than one year ago, I want have all messages older than month in one group etc. - and BTW all strings (group names, strings unread, total etc) related to this mode acn't be translated. -- Thanks and Bye, Marek Mikus Czech support of The Bat! http://www.thebat.cz Using the best The Bat! 3.0.2.10 under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Notebook Acer, Pentium4-M 2.2 GHz, 512 MB RAM, ADSL line Current beta is 3.0.9.19 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Hi Alexander S. Kunz, Monday, April 25, 2005 you let us know -at least in parts- : right clicked on TB icon in taskbar You mean the system tray, I suppose? You are right, Alexander. Mea culpa. Whats the setting you are using, do you hide TB on the taskbar and have it in the system tray, always? The time I got my AV (so far the only one, thank God) TB was in tray. A moment before, I had checked my mails, all were marked as read and no new ones in sight -CC wasn't active. One account is set to manual retrieving -so check boxes check mail at start-up and periodically checking each are empty. I sent TB to tray after having pressed the unread tab and right clicked the icon to see if any mails were in this account when I sudden got my AV. As stated before, I can't reproduce this. It happened once and hopefully never again :-) -- thank you for reading Charlene Ferrara mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.9.19 Return on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Skype: charleneferrara Current beta is 3.0.9.19 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Hello Peter, You are using English spellchecker, are you? This is the problem of the languages other than English. Not with Spanish. It's working fine here both with English and Spanish. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Re[2]: Spellchecker error (was: The Bat! 3.0.9.19 Return is now available)
Hello, Peter! Since 3.0.9.8 the right mouse click menu in the spellchecker shows the suggested words in the wrong encoding. It's not a wrong encoding. You have some troubles with font. Every font can contain some language sections. First of all Western - it must be in all fonts (except Symbols etc). And you can have Cyrillic section. Not all fonts contains such section. Also there can be Arabic, Turkish, Greek and other sections... If menu font contains Cyrillic section, so why used Western section in your case??? -- Best regards, Ivan The Bat! 3.0.9.19 Return on Windows XP 5.1.2600 Current beta is 3.0.9.19 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Mary Bull [MB] wrote, Cannot confirm, Spell Checker is working fine here. (I have put this 9.xx series since .13 directly on top of the contents of the v. 3.0.2.10 build; therefore I do have the internaational Pack; in case that's relevant.) Somewhere recently in one of the messages here, someone mentioned that the only files that we need in the The Bat! directory is props.dll and thebat.exe. So like a dummy I deleted (but saved) all the files in The Bat! directory, except those two above and everything seemed to work. After the spell checker stopped working, I thought it may have something to do with deleting those files, so I put them back and now the spell checker is working fine.
