Right there. openpgp is an option. It was checked here. Switch to

IMAP: Draft folder doesn't refresh when filter applys

2005-04-27 Thread Manuel Breitfeld
Hi all,

When I send a message, message is put into Outbox, Outbox is
marked bold, indicates one message, status at the bottom says
sent, but draft folder doesn't refresh automatically.
Outbox stays bold and indicates this sent message. I have to
manually select this folder by typing on it and the message
disappears and is filtered correctly.
This happens only when an outgoing filter matches. Otherwise the
message is moved into the sent folder and Outbox refreshes
automatically.

I have a local Outbox, but this also happens in the same way if
I use server Outbox.

This happens since I use IMAP with TB! and isn't related to this
beta as far as I know...

Does anyone experience the same behavior?

Hello MAU,

Although there is no many bug-fixes, it contains major changes in
socket working so need to be tested in real-life conditions.

I will, although tomorrrow I'm going to be away all day.

I have been using it since last night for my normal work with no
problem at all. Everything is running very smoothly here.

However, and unfortunately, I have to revert to 3.0.2.10 for my normal
work due to the known issue of threading by Reference+Subject vs.

For each filter you setup, there is a tab called 'Folders'.

This defines the folders you wish the filter to work on. With POP3,
incoming filters will work only with the Inbox. However, with IMAP,
filtering may be done server side, so you can assign incoming filters
to work on any IMAP folder.

If you have no IMAP folder defined for the filter to work with, the
filter will not work. Select the Inbox in that Folders list.

When there's a failure to filter, try running the filters manually on
the Inbox and see what happens. The POPup dialog should tell you. You
may also log what happens.

3.0.9.x search window strange behavior

2005-04-27 Thread Konstantin Zhilenko
Hello,

Maybe it had already been reported but I want to post it anyway because this
annoying behavior stays in all latest pre-betas and betas.

Open a search window and do search something by subject (I am searching like
this maybe 20 times a day reading Support trouble tickets for my company).
Well, we found some entries and can browse through them. Follow button is
broken, but this is known bug... When we are reading messages some new
messages arrive into folder we did search in and appear in the search window
though they have completely different subject (we were doing search by
subject).

It was not like this in previous versions (before pre-betas) and I would
like the old behavior back, please.

Can anyone confirm?

With best regards.

Before pre-betas To, CC, BCC fields acted like most of the default OS text

Now it is ADDED no matter select you old text or not, that seems to be a bug
to me.

Actually, now that you mentioned this behaviour, I like it. It allows
you to click in the To:area, RMB and select a recipient, RMB again and
select another recipient and they are just added. It allows you just
continue picking recipients. You used to have to select the first
recipient, use the right arrow key, put in a comma and then select the
next person. This is much nicer.

However, I think if you do select the text in the To: area, that
selecting a new recipient should replace the selection. I hope you see
the distinction here.

[-] Editor: spell-checker popup in wrong encoding

Follow button in Finder is broken, while right clicking on the message
and selecting Follow from context menu works fine.
[-] mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
The Main menu of Quick Templates window is called Standard and has
a X (to close). This isn't a good idea, as I have no clue to get

  of the Quick Templates window).
[-] mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[View | Character Set] doesn't list available character sets.
Fixed, except for the 2 times 'None' in the View Folder window.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts, sub-menus

2005-04-27 Thread MAU
Hello 9Val,

PF How do you get to the menu items that are placed in submenus, like
PF e.g. View Show Connection Centre (these ones)? I don't want to move
PF them or anything, just assign shortcuts to them...

PF I do not know how I get to them in the Customize dialogue.

 Impossible now

Correct. The first time I tried to enter a sub-menu I what I did was to
double-click on the menu entry and, to my surprise, what happened was
that the menu entry was removed just like if I had clicked on the left
arrow. A potentially dangerous situation if you do not notice the
entry is removed and changes are saved.

Re: The Bat! 3.0.9.19 Return is now available

2005-04-27 Thread MAU
Hello Alexander,

However, and unfortunately, I have to revert to 3.0.2.10 for my normal
work due to the known issue of threading by Reference+Subject vs.
 Reference only.

I can't remember into how much detail you were going with your original
posting, but this is really causing quite a mess. Some messages (without
reference headers) are sorted into the correct thread, but at a totally
wrong position (might have to do with different time zones of different
participants, I have to investigate further).

In my case it is totally useless because some (many) messages are not
threaded to the proper thread because I have totally different threads
but with identical subject. It is really a mess.

Not sure if you're replying with it's been fixed or still not
working. It's always worked for me.

What has NEVER worked though is the ability to drag a message to an open
editor's task bar indicator. With other programs, if you hover your
attachment over the indicator for a few seconds it will bring that window
to the front. You can then drop your attachment in the editor window.

Virtual Ticket to actualy folder...

2005-04-27 Thread Jonathan Angliss
Hey Guys,

I've not been able to pinpoint any kind of method to reproduce this,
it seems entirely random. Using IMAP (a good thing to point out to
start with). When I open the virtual ticker folder, it opens all the
new messages just fine... then after a short period, or maybe
switching between applications, and the ticker window, I find that
whatever message I had double clicked on, the folder that message was
in is now displayed in the ticker window, and all the other new
messages have disappeared from view. Basically it acts as if I had
opened the folder containing the new message I had double clicked on,
and not the virtual folder... The odd thing is it opens the virtual
ticker folder first, then randomly it changes the view from the ticker
folder to the actual folder.

I thought it was me losing my mind, but this has happened over the
last few betas, and I'm pretty sure I don't do anything after I open
the ticker. Anybody else seen this oddity?

A little roadmap

2005-04-27 Thread 9Val
Hi All,

Well, as you can see, integration of new GUI system is mostly
finished, so here is a short-time roadmap:

  29.04TB! 3.5 (Return) Release Candidate 1
It will differ from .20 only with bug fixes and ability to
create/maintain containers in customizer and re-design of
customizer. So any input on show-stoppers, most critical and
fatal bugs are appreciated. Only thing I ask for is to make that
input organized for easier understanding. Good example is
Peter/Boris bug-list. It will be really good if every reported
bug report will contain possible group, resume and comments, in
 example:

IMAP : something somewhere goes wrong
When I press Z I expect to ... but happens ... I have ...
enabled and everything else disabled

UI : menu item X is enabled while shouldn't be even visible
It happens only then I'm using ... and ...

 and so on.

It will be great, if anybody will collect them in one mail, but
using groupping. But since it is mostly impossible, I suggest to
start thread per group, in example all GUI related stuff should
be reported as reply to first-GUI-reported message. Subjects of
such reports should contain bug-group info like Other: AV on
 entering search.

Hope my suggestions were clearly enough :-) We are waiting for
 your input.

  2.05-4.05TB! 3.5 (Return) Release Candidate 2
Fix of non-fixed and fix of the bugs created by fixing :-)

  6.05-7.05TB! 3.5 (Return) Final
 No comments :-)

PS: Thanks for everybody, who participated in this beta cycle
and whose input helped us to make new GUI more usable

Re: The Bat! 3.0.9.20 Return is now available

2005-04-27 Thread MikeD
Hello 9Val,

Here are the items that are on my list:

1.) From the folder list window 'tab' to the message list window,
Ctrl-A selects all the messages (preview window still says no
message selected), delete is not available on the right click
menu nor does the delete key work. Once any message has been
selected, Ctrl-A / delete works as expected. FWIW, there are
other options that are also grayed that I would expect to not be.
In particular, 'Move to' is also grayed. However, unlike Delete,
I can use the mouse to move the selected messages.

2.) Tab order through Folder list - message list - message preview
still stops at ... I think message preview (tough to tell when
nothing is there to see wink). In addition, it now cycles
through the 'Quick search' list box if that is open. This is
mostly a nit as far as I am concerned.

3.) Spell check seems to be working correctly now. whew

4.) Still no Key Assignment menu. I know that is a 'back burner'
issue, but I did not want to forget it g

5.) Access violations: None yet, but I have only been using it for
a few minutes so far. But hopefully this can be crossed off my
list now.

Keep up the great work. It is looking good. I have been able to
actually use the betas since 9.17.

thanks for posting the roadmap.

Most urgently, take care of the threading issue reported by MAU, it is not
in Peter list as far as I can see. The current thread by reference should
be renamed to thread by reference subject and the old thread by
reference of all pre3.0.9 versions should be brought back, maybe as

I don't know if it has been reported already (a search gave no results)...
the right-mouse-button context menu for the message list has a new top-most
entry Refresh. If I understand it correctly it is a command for Virtual
Folders and/or IMAP accounts?

I don't know why it is there for regular folders in a POP3 account.

(it is a minor disturbance, I used to open that menu and select the first
entry to go to the next unread message when I don't use the keyboard
because I have a pizza or beer in the other hand *gg*)

Bugs in .19/.20: IMAP

2005-04-27 Thread Peter Fjelsten
Hello beta testers.

I would like to start a list of bugs for IMAP:

I cannot delete queued messages from my remote mailbox (Mailmax). I
cannot delete queued messages from my local mailbox (Exchange): If I
have queued mail that should be moved to a remote Trash folder,
deleting messages that are parked (i.e. drafts) in an Outbox is not
possible. Message are removed from view, but if I move to another
folder and back, they are still there.

If messages are automatically filtered from an outbox to an IMAP
folder, the Outbox folder (local or remote) is not unbolded after
the message is sent. In other words, TB! does not know that the
message has be removed from the outbox. If you select the outbox
again, the bolding disappears. For me this is broken with Exchange
and Mailmax. See the thread beginning with
   mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I cannot delete remote folders or make new folders (using Manage
IMAP folders). Any new folder is visible in the webmail application
of my mail provider - but not in the list in TB!. I also cannot
unsubscribe from the folder I previously tried to delete (Mailmax,
have not tried Exchange). The managing of IMAP folders seems
   unstable. Sometimes restarting TB! helps.

Connections hang (Mailmax and Exchange - I have sent 9Val screen
shots). I need to delete the tasks using Delete in order to make
TB! work again. See thread beginning with
   mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Automatically saved drafts sometimes do not supercede/overwrite
previous versions of same message (Mailmax, remote outbox) = this is
probably due to the connection problem above: The delete flag not set
   correctly as the connection hangs.

I have had an issue for at least 10 builds where filtering is making
more than one copy in local common folder when filtering incoming
IMAP mail to local common folder. Also, for the virtual folder which
is based on this local common folder, the message count/bolding is
not correct - need to do manual refresh when I have read mail in the
common folder - the virtual folder stay bolded.

There is an issue where the wrong body is sometimes loaded with a
header. I got this when moving from an empty message (just header) to
another full message: the header of the empty message was shown for
the body of the full message. See thread beginning with
   mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Please add you own findings to this message.

PNG files not needed for 3.0.9.20?

Hello all,

Sorry if I have missed something with the previous betas but doing some
testing I just realised that, at least 3.0.9.20 does not need the
new_icons.png file or any of the other 2 PNGs. I start TB without those
files being in the installation directory and TB does not complain and,
as far as I can see, no icons are missed anywhere in toolbars, flags,
folder tree, etc.

Can anyone confirm? Did I miss some announcement about this?
