The TBBETA list has been set up for the purpose of discussing The Bat!
officially released Beta test versions and related issues. For general
topics of a more simple nature regarding full release versions, refer
to TBUDL.

In practice, it is mostly discussion of issues to seek advice and
confirmation from other beta users. Confirmed or difficult issues have
to be reported on the bugtraq system to be properly logged, assigned
and scheduled and progressed by the RITlabs development team.

As already said several times: You should report your two bugs on
https://bt.ritlabs.com with all available data so all information is
stored at one place. And you could also add more details when found -
but it is stored on a central location where beta testers and
developers can have a look.

And then you could note the bug numbers in the list here.

It is obvious your problem is limited to the offending account. Archive
what messages you need on Google and then delete the account in TB. Next
delete the account on Google. Use CCleaner to clean out your Registry.
 Reboot.

I just set up an old Gmail account with Thebat. I set the name and
address and connetion type to "auto". So I got the login window from
Google - there I set username and password and the setup was done - I

That's exactly what I did to test The Bat, since I am a Voyager user: I
installed The Bat last beta, then I configured the problematic Gmail account.
It simply doesn't work and The Bat crashes because it's stuck into the Oauth
procedure. As I told before, the only way out is to kill The Bat process. If I
modify TB registration on Gmail and it starts crashing v.8.2.4.3 also, I'm
done, I can't use TB or Voyager anymore, with any of my accounts, because I
can't cancel the failing Oauth procedure. It's too risky.

New MSI files means also new tests against brand new wine v4.1 which was
released just some days ago (February 4, 2019):

Both are running on Linux (Debian64) on latest wine without any (known)
serious problems. See also Wines application database about "The Bat!":

There are also described three different installation methods how to
install "The Bat!" on Linux/Wine.

If you find something not working related to wine please send a bug report
to wine:
IMPORTANT: Please do not send it to this list (NOT to tbbeta).

Please note:
1.) Plugins which are created for use under 32bit didn't work with 64bit
version of "The Bat!" (not a wine problem). Unless there are no native 64bit
plugins available, this will not be fixed.

2.) A known issue is about the system tray in KDE:

So I recommend to switch of the system tray icon in "The Bat!s" preferences.

Please notice: this tests were done by some scripts to get a quick check if
there are some new problems since the last MSIs

Thanks for your nice work Maxim!

Why? Gmail messages are still stored on there server - you are loosing

re-install it and re-install the Gmail account again.

Would you please describe this procedure step by step please? I'm not sure I'm
following you and again, I cannot risk Google shutting me out v. 8.2.4.3 as
well. Thanks.

Please, note that we are dealing with 2 different problems here, both very
serious:

1) Oauth process fails with any version of TB after 8.2.4.3

2) The failed Oauth process *crashes TB* 100% of the times. Even if this were
a problem caused by Google itself, the fact that I cannot even *open* TB in
any useful way, and I am forced to *kill TB process* entirely, that's a deadly
serious bug anyway and should be addressed independently.

Or you could set up an other email address with an other provider with
which you can receive/send mail with TB and go to Google Webmail and
enable a deviation of the incoming mail on this new account.

I'm scared of trampling with that. If 8.2.4.3 also stops working I'd be kicked
out of my email and I couldn't use TB anymore.

Hence, it is something that was introduced the build after, like I said.

I found the same issue about an earlier version:
https://bt.ritlabs.com/view.php?id=1401
They say it's fixed, but it's not.

Or Google does see something unsecure in the later versions. Did you
ever try to delete TheBat as three party app and later (after logout
and login again) to try to enable it again?

But again my question: Did you collect all the information (handling,
message, logs) on the bug tracking system of Ritlabs?

is something that was introduced the build after, definitely.

Would someone please point me to all TB beta builds between 8.2.4.3 and 8.3? I
would like to spot the exact build that created the Gmail problem.

What's new in The Bat! version 8.8 since 8.7 Christmas Edition released on
23-Dec-2018:

[+] An additional button to deselect "Trash" folders across all accounts in the
Message Finder
[+] Users of the On-The-Fly-Encryption mode can specify /DECRYPT_FILE_OTFE
command line parameter to decrypt a particular file and save it to disk
[*] Contents of the "Organization" header line is not automatically appended in
parenthesis to the sender's address header line on display if the contents of
the Organization has a "@" character or a parenthesis or an angle bracket
[*] The Bat! ignores message header address line comments that contain "@"
characters
[-] 738: Google contact synchronization did not work
[-] 0001561: Inserting Polish character "a" (with a tail) cleared the text of
messages
[-] 0001625: Ctrl+V didn't move messages to folders starting with the letter "O"
[-] 0001628: Assigned colors groups were not shown in the Sorting Office menu
[-] 0001629: Wrong code in HTML messages caused invisible messages
[-] 0001632: Viewer/editor profiles ignored the background color settings until
another profile was selected
[-] 0001633: List settings were saved and restored incorrectly when switching
between Normal and HiDPI displays: The new version stores different sizes
separately to prevent wrong sizing in the older versions
[-] 0001635: Viewer profile settings were not applied right after changing the
settings in options
[-] 0001637: Viewer/editor profiles were not retained after re-starting the
program
[-] 0001638: Images from web-site copied to clipboard are not pasted into the
HTML-editor: Added possibility to copy text with images from MS Office. For the
moment to copy text with images from web page first copy it to Word and then
copy to The Bat!
[-] 0001640: The internal HTML viewer failed to display certain messages
[-] 0001645: "Cannot change Visible in OnShow or OnHide" error message at every
startup has been resolved

email because of the tags
[-] 0001650: "Invalid container data (offsets)" error message appeared upon
editing the Sorting Office filters
[-] 0001652: Find duplicates wizard in address book was not entirely displayed
under lower resolutions
[-] 0001654: Color selector: Predefined color set and Windows UI colors were
missing. More colors accessible via keyboard
[-] 0001656: There were truncated options in the settings of common folders
[-] 0001666: If email addresses were erroneously separated by spaces (not by
comas or semicolons) in an address line, The Bat! displayed only the first one
[-] 0001668: Three High-DPI issues with color selector have been resolved
[-] 0001674: Message Finder didn't find anything in local (non-IMAP4) folders
when search scope was "Any part"; and there is no way to stop the search process
[-] 0001676: Unicode symbols were improperly rendered in the message list
[-] 0001683: Wrong minute in the time of the message creation - 1 second was
lost
[-] Embedded images in messages bodies grew in size on each reply on high DPI
