Global filtering?
Hello TBUDL, is it a way to filter all folders in an account at once with a manual filter? Let's say I color mark messages as I read them and after a while I want all messages marked red moved to a particular folder using a manual filter. In this case I have to move from folder to folder executing the manual filter. What I would like to was to filter the whole account in one run. Incoming Mail slow - repeated email - only receives one message.
Good day all, I am a registered user and am having some nasty email problems. I am using version 1.49 on Win98 2nd edition on an old PIII 600 with 256mb of ram. I have NOT altered my configurations for The Bat in the least for months. I have called the technical support people for my incoming mail server and they say their servers are up and running fine (which could mean anything). Hotmail can log into my POP server and get email just fine. Here is what's happening. It takes anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes to receive an email that is no more than 10k in size. If there are more than one message, it receives the first one then gives an error message regarding being timed out and FETCH ain't working. (I don't have the original error because I have restarted The Bat and lost my log of connecting messages, sorry). The Bat will receive that same message, date and time is the same, all morning or all afternoon. I can log into Mailstart (at least I could before they went to a fee) and Hotmail to receive my incoming mail with no problems. This is an intermittent problem and only happens several times a week. Usually gives me a good excuse for getting something to eat. Any ideas? Guy Prince Smith Co. That is correct. The current structure of TB doesn't allow for this functionality through the main front end window. Personally, I leave the TB main window minimised to the tool-tray except when searching the archives or doing some housekeeping. The ticker and its associated virtual folder are available for exactly this purpose. TB will put all new mail into a single virtual folder which can be accessed only through the ticker, regardless of which folder it really resides in or has been filtered to. That is the way TB does it. It is a matter of simplicity to follow the mail back to its source folder as long as the message list is enabled. Just press Return and the mail is in the proper folder context. Press Esc to get back to the ticker folder when done. - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D. Okay, thanks on the ISP problem. That makes sense. I needed to ask someone who actually knew something. Technical support staff for ISPs aren't usually the ones to ask. Problem Exporting AD
I keep two separate address books--one has two sub-ADs and the other has three. If I want to print out a hard copy of one of the sub-ADs, there's no problem; it's very straightforward. But if I want to copy a sub-AD to a file as plain text, I run into a problem. There's no "print to file" option in the print menus, so I used the export function in the file drop-down menu. The problem is that I can't limit the export to a single sub-address book. The new file that's created includes all other sub-ADs plus the main AD. (With duplicates thankfully omitted.) The new file begins listing the addresses alphabetically, but misses some of them. Then, about two-thirds of the way through it begins picking up the missed addresses and lists them in what appears to be a random order. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to this, so it wouldn't be easy to just edit out the unneeded addresses. I don't need to do this often, and a simple solution would be plug the sub-AD into its own main AD to create the file, but this issue was giving me fits today. Am I missing something obvious?
