Deleting messages from server
Hi TBUDL, I have TB1.49 the official release, and a couple of times [no pattern yet] the email was not deleted from the server after retrieval. Since TB is set for every 5mn, it got hundreds and hundreds of messages because, it kept on retrieve the same messages. I have to delete manually the mail on the server, then it's no problem for the next few days. Server is Mercury/32 v3.21c [the current one]. I am not sure if this is due to TB or to the mail server? It seems to me that it sort of obviates the group idea. There are many people who I have in groups who are *not* my favorites. Bugs using localhost as server
Bat! of course is probably not designed to use localhost (127.0.0.1) as an isp. However some of us do (I personally use Hamster to collect mail from two isp accounts 2 news group accounts, and then upload from Bat Gravity news reader) and I have noticed the following:- If Hamster is not running, there is no warning that a connection could not be made by Bat! when attempting to upload or download mail. If Hamster is running, and not connected to the 'net, Bat!, when uploading the first time, connects to Hamster, will not upload, and also brings up the default dial out connection. When the connection is cancelled, Bat! then uploads to Hamster. Not earth shattering stuff, but one day maybe the developers could have a look at this. -- Regards, John Phillips Sydney, Australia [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hamster 1.3.22.1 Bat! 1.49 Windows 98 4.10 Build ASony Vaio Notebook PCG-505TS Pentium 300 64meg ram May you die in bed at 95, shot by a jealous spouse. -- __ Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

When I do that, next day (or even few hours MK later) I'll receive all mails again. Even smaller then defined MK limit. That's a shame. It means that the POP3 server you are downloading from is using a non-standard methodology for listing IDs of un-deleted messages ... or are you using IMAP? Either way, if this does not work, it is not TB's fault. TB does this correctly. 2.) Use the message dispatcher and tell TB manually which message to download, and which message to delete etc. MK It's takes to much time. Perhaps, but if your ISP's server doesn't correctly manage the "leave messages on server" option, you don't have much choice. MK So, I suggest to add sub-option for "Receive header only..." MK feature: It's could be a check-mark: "Delete from the server". It MK alows me (us) to work with mails at home and job, without stress MK (I've lost an important mail last time because I was sure the MK larger mails will still waiting for next downloading) TB already has that option.
