MD So, are you saying I should move the messages .tbb and messages.tbi MD files to a new TB folder, and then compress the new folder? No, copy them in a temporary folder somewhere *at HD*, not in TB, then compress your Inbox folder *in Bat*. Then close TB, then copy tbb and tbi files back in *Inbox folder, at HD*, then start TB. If this is what I mean, then you should see messages from your Inbox folder, in TB, again. ***I recalled another reason why you cannot see your messages, and it can be pretty mussy: if folder structures in TB are not corresponding with folder structures at your HD. I expect to get all messages too, but once the message is in the handheld, I don't see a reason to transmit it again to the unit. Somehow my old messages that have already been transmited to the handheld are being send to the handheld everytime I synchronize the device. Not sure I follow what the problem is. I have a v505 and I expected to get all messages in the Inbox on my Palm, and do. Are you expecting to only get the unread messages on the Palm? Re: MAPI problem
Just to exemplify, I took an old Eudora backup, installed Eudora, ran 2 hotsyncs and then imported the mailbox into The Bat! and ran 2 hotsyncs. Timings: Eudora 1st hotsync: 3min17s Eudora 2nd hotsync: 2s The Bat! 1st hotsync: 3min18s The Bat! 2nd hotsync: 3min18s Seems to me that The Bat! is sending all messages to the unit, everytime I hotsync instead of checking if they are already in the unit or not, and that's what I want to fix. Any thoughts? Hi you all! I began using The Bat! not long ago, and I must say it's a pretty amazing program. The only problem I have is with the MAPI interface. I have a Palm V handheld, and I use the mail synchronization feature in HotSync. It seems that the program is failing to 'say' that a message isn't new, so it'll download every message in my inbox time and time again, taking a long time to do that. I had Eudora before going to The Bat!, and it worked perfectly. Anyone knows how to fix that? Awe shucks! g I was so positively hooked on scrolling with only the arrow keys from my Forte' Agent days that it was very difficult dealing with using the alt+up/down keys in TB!. In fact, I installed a macro tool to remap the keys but this created other little conflicts in that I couldn't use the arrow keys for any other purpose except scrolling. I stopped using the mouse to scroll when it caused Explorer instability some time ago when I used to use Win2k. Bad drivers at the time. I had to stop scrolling with the mouse altogether and haven't really started back since then. Yeah, I know the story about the fact that the user shouldn't adapt to software. However, there's perfection and there's the reality of imperfection that we have to always deal with. - -- -=Allie C Martin=- List Moderator | TB! v1.60k | Windows XP Pro PGP/GPG Public Key: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=2B0717E2 _ -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iD8DBQE83tR1V8nrYCsHF+IRAqXOAKCWbFrt4Nu4Oazjj1PagvaIeesZBgCfaLnd Fj5wOOq86xR6i7Ei0FSJOVU= =731X -END PGP SIGNATURE- Current Ver: 1.60i FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Bug Reports: https://bt.ritlabs.com

Hello Allie, On Sunday, May 12 2002 at 01:45 PM PDT, you wrote: Becky is that nice for you eh? Becky is extremely stable, and the latest Beta that was released last month now includes some nice features that fit my style of E-Mail reading: Update History Ver2.00.11 - Ver2.05.00 - Added Save Attachments to Separate Data Files (General Setup Advanced) option. (Default) If this option is on, attachment parts in e-mail messages will be saved as separate data files, which increases overall performance and decreases the risk of virus-scanning software deleting e-mail messages that contains viruses along with other innocent e-mail messages. Those separated attachment files are saved as is (not decoded) and this process is totally transparent from the user. - There are two commands added in File Folder menu. Separate Attachments and Combine Attachments. Older version of Becky! doesn't support data files that has separate attachment. So, if you need to go back to the old version for some reasons, you will need to process Combine Attachments on each folder. - Over ? KB message is saved as single file option is discontinued because Save Attachment to Separate Data Files option does a better job. - Auto complete for To, Cc, and Bcc fields is supported. You can turn it off by unchecking General Setup Editor Use auto complete for To, Cc, and Bcc fields. option. - The result of Query is shown as a folder in the tree view. This temporary folder exists while Query dialog is visible. - Added Flag for messages. You can double click the left side of the e-mail item in the list view to add Flag to the messages. There are some functionalities are added for flags, like Prohibit deleting flagged items. in General SetupTree/List, and Select Flagged Messages in Edit menu. Unlike the priorities or the color labels, flag works on IMAP server. - Do not save option is added to Delete from Server action in the filtering manager. This allows you to set up Kill filter for particular kind of messages you don't even want to see. If the message meets Do not save action, no other actions, except Sound, will be processed even if the message matches other conditions. - Improved thread capability. No more Date related thread cutting that occurred in the older versions. Nevertheless, the performance of thread generation is much more improved. Plus, you can connect threads by drag and drop operation. - Switch Mailbox command is added in Compose window. - Force to Reconnect option in Mailbox Setup Connection, which enable you to switch dialup connections on Collection and Delivery. - There you see small H icon in the list view if the messages that received with Ver.2.05 contain HTML document. If you process File Folder Reconstruct Index, you can also see those small Hs on the messages that you have received with older versions. - Convert to Plain Text option is added in General Setup Message View HTML View. If you hate HTML messages but you want to read the content sometimes, this option is for you. (and it is default) - Invalidate Executable Tags option is renamed as Disallow Scripts. - Added a resource-requesting callback function to the plug-in interface. That way you can create plug-ins that replaces icons and bitmaps in Becky!. For details, see _b2icon_ sample in Plug-In SDK. - Supported koi8-r character set. - Made the filtering manager resizable. If you use Tietew's Powerful Customizer plug-in, you will see some flickers while resizing but it's not a bug. Both programs are just working on their way. - You can use short cut keys on Compose window even if the caret is in To, Subject, etc. fields. - Disabled Delete key when the message view has a focus. You can still delete messages with other key strokes. (like Ctrl+D) - Made Export command exports hidden messages under the thread. - Added a command line option /B that opens the address book immediately. - Compaction will not delete Bcc fields anymore. - Delete command is added alongside Cut, Copy, etc. commands in the right click menu of the editor. - If you search addresses in the address book, it will show Group instead of Comments in the list. - Made 4way button repeatable. - You can customize columns of the list view. View Customize List Columns - When you are saving an attachment with Save As command with the file name that has no file extension, the appropriate file extension will be added automatically. I do hope the scroll problem with the mouse is fixed one of these days but I'm surprised that it would comprise a show-stopper for you. :-) It actually is a show stopper for me Allie. Re[2]: MAPI problem
How can you tell that all the mail is being sent to your palm each time? Is there a log that lists each msg that is sync'd? By the timings I took with both Eudora and The Bat!, using the same mailbox (all messages are read, deleted all messages in the Palm unit before hotsync'n w/ each email proggie). Eudora 1st hotsync: 3min17s Eudora 2nd hotsync: 2s The Bat! 1st hotsync: 3min18s The Bat! 2nd hotsync: 3min18s That's why I think that I'm having every message sent everytime I hotsync with The Bat!. I have noticed a couple of oddities 1. You want to have TB the active window during the mail sync, or it is 4-5 times slower. I think this is an issue with how TB has implemented MAPI? but am not sure. 2. The read/unread flag on the Palm device is changed to match what is the TB Inbox. Kind of a pain, but I haven't needed that functionality recently, so have not pursued it. _ [EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! 1.60h P G P Key Available Current Ver: 1.60i FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Bug Reports: https://bt.ritlabs.com
