I see. I didn't know that. If so, it's a bug and should be reported.

This is the result of TB!'s limited MIME-impemantation. Content-Disposition

quick template woes

2004-06-26 Thread Roman Katzer
I'm having trouble with my quick templates. I don't remember when that
started, maybe when I switched over to TB2.
Even the QTs that worked before have ceased to function.

Consider a QT named foobar that looks like this:

%FROMADDR=[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Now when I do type foobar Ctrl+Space what I get is
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

(I substituted x for s for spam protection, but essentially it's my
original from address, inline in the message text, not even in the From:
field)

Again, this used to work.

Frustrated, Roman

Editing mails not working correctly

First I've ticked the wait for completion in the filter to see

Yes, I am using XP but I am not using logins. Basically, I want to

while using one login for the OS.

I know I could create different users for OS login but I would rather

You're that the imported message doesn't contain your changes. Are you
sure that a message gets imported? You must realise that the used
filter doesn't delete the original message, so you ought to get a new
copy with the unread status.
I remember developing the filter because of questions from the list
and as far as I can see Robin Anson enhanced the batch file I
suggested (actually he deserves all credits about adding it to the
macro library) It worked back then, i was using Win 98 and a shorter
batch file and it worked.
Just after the macro was added somebody complained about TB doing
nothing until completion of the batch file and I believe that had to
do something with the 'wait until completion' option.

You're mixing up two macros. There's the %FromAddr macro that inserts
the fromaddress into the text. Also there's the %From='address' macro
that changes the header

RK Again, this used to work.

I doubt that, I can't remember these macro to have changed, but I've
been known to err. ;-)

I used to use MrPostman to get my messages from Yahoo and then used
TheBat! to get the messages from a local port on my PC. However when
Yahoo recently changed all e-mail accounts to 100MB this method broke
and I no longer could retrieve e-mail without logging onto the Yahoo
web interface.

I still use MrPostman for Hotmail, but changed tbudl and tbot to my
isp address. I am too lazy to try to fix Yahoo and occasionally log
on just for the e-mail or two that still lands there.

that sounds more like something a filter could accomplish. You could
filter messages from a work address, like @work.com to a separate
folder. filters are very powerful and can probably do what you are
looking for. you can have common folders too! go to the HELP menu, click
on FAQ, then check out the filters and templates info..

by received time... all kinds of ways!!

 Is this possible?

Yes - absolutely. You can define users, groups, which accounts
belong to which groups, which ones have passwords, and summon them
from the command line.

Check out Options - Network and Administration. The options you
need are mostly there.

Unread folder

2004-06-26 Thread Maggie
Hi Bats,

Sometimes a message arrives to the Unread folder and when I have
clicked on it and read it, it remains in the unread box,
boldfaced as if it had never been read.

I just bid on an Ebay item, and the bid confirm exhibited this
  behaviour.

This is a separate problem I have had with marking an unread message
as Spam and sometimes that message is moved to the Junk folder, and
sometimes it stays in the Unread box.

Right. Do you see Mail Ticker listed there? I sure didn't.

To be clear: I am looking to set a keystroke shortcut to toggle the
Mail Ticker. I know how to set system hot keys - that's what I want
to do with the Mail Ticker - set a hot key.

Is this possible?

Yes. I have Ctrl-Shift-Z set for that, and it opens the Mail Ticker
virtual folder with the messages in it.

Highlight Open MailTicker messages and then Right Click on it and
choose Edit. There you'll get a window where you can enter the keys

If so, I don't think that is possible with a hot key.
