Re: Error: Could not export message
Try creating a new test account with the same settings. If this one sends and receives properly, move all the messages and folders across from and then delete the non-working account. Then rename the test account as the personal account and check it still works. Just a suggestion - no guarantees, and even if it works it won't say what was going wrong. -- Best regards MFPA Thanks! Error: Could not export message
Once again, I'm helping my friend with The Bat! on her new computer. Her tech guy got it up and running, but she's having a problem sending mail from one of her accounts. She has a personal account with one provider and a work account with the university's server. She has been using her personal account provider's SMTP server to send mail for both accounts when using her home computer. On her old computer, it worked fine that way. Now, with the new installation of The Bat! (version 4.2.10.1, Windows Vista), she gets an error message Could not export message whenever she tries to send mail from her personal account. She has no trouble sending mail from her work account through the exact same SMTP server. This happens with all email from this account, regardless of whether or not there's an attachment. She's not using IMAP. Everything is correct in her Account Properties as far as I can tell. I've reached the limit of my expertise here. Any suggestions? Hi Jonathan, Sorry to disappoint you but I am not using IMAP. I did try sending the msg directly from the edit screen but no joy. The problem seems to lie in the save attachments with msg or in a separate directory. When redirecting a msg with attachment from one account to an other the attachment was still there but 0 bytes in length. But it is a strange problem because today I can not reproduce the problem. Gerard- I would get the could not export message error on a client-server system where TB running as a server didn't have read access to the machine holding the document. If you're running on a single computer then I'm stumped. Have you tried moving the document to a different folder and attaching it? Do you have different user accounts on your computer? But also found the cause of the problem. I was trying to send a 0 byte attachment. This is strange because I did a forward of a redirected of a msg I received with the attachment The redirect was done with local delivery. After the redirect the attachement of the msg was 0 Byte with the original name and extension intact. I could solve the problem be changing the setting account|properties|filesdirectories|keep attachment files| from separately to include in msg body. After that no problem. The account I was redirecting from has this option set to separately This option has been working because I have attachment files in my attach folder as recent as yesterday.
