D one be concerned with whether its on or off?
D Thanks for explaining

A X-Mailer is a field in your e-mail message header { you can view this by
A pressing F9 } that states what e-mail client you are using. Under normal
A conditions, this wouldn't be much of an issue however some server
A administrators have black-listed e-mail messages sent by users of
A The_Bat!. Turning off the X-Mailer identification makes it possible to
A pass messages past these servers.
Thanks for the info. I didnt know this :)

A I, personally, haven't had any messages bounced because of my use of TB!
A [so you'll notice my x-mailer present in my header] but a growing number
A of users have experienced this wrong discrimination -- enough users to
A make this 'feature' necessary.
I havent either. I guess Ill just leave it for now. But nice to know
for the future. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

A Also, your signature should begin with -- (dash dash space). The_Bat!
A recognizes this as a signature delimiter and will automatically trim the
A following signature upon replying.
So I place -- (dash, dash, space) then enter my name or whatever below
and this trims the signature in replys?

Importing Public keys help with PGP

2003-10-30 Thread Darrin
Thursday, October 30, 2003
2:28:25 PM

Hi,
Im new to this and was reading the help files for PGP and this is what
it reads:
Add public keys from email messages
A convenient way to get a copy of someone’s public key is to have that person include
it in an email message. When a public key is sent through email, it appears as a block
of text in the body of the message.

If you are using an email application that is not supported by the plug-ins, you can
add the public key to the keyring by following these steps:

Copy the block of text that represents the public key.

Start PGPkeys.

Select Paste from the Edit menu. The Select Keys dialog box appears.

Click Import. The key is imported.

When I try it I get a pop up that tells me PGP cannot copy keys from
clipboard.

Am I doing it wrong?

Would I set it like:
[Move message to] Spam folder
[Stings]X-Text-Classification: spam
[Location] Kludges
[presence]yes

Sound right??
Can someone define Kludges?

Just because Microsoft, Eudora, and Netscape/Mozilla account for roughly 90% of the
email programs most Windows users use doesn’t mean that what remains isn’t worth
checking out.
PocoMail, Pegasus Mail, and The Bat! each has its own following and advantages over
the mainstream mailers.
The latest beta from The Bat! has me thinking that it’s starting to pull away from its
immediate competitors.
The Bat! has been around for years and was considered the power emailer’s client
choice because it was fast, had a great template set, a powerful (if underutilized
plug-in set), and eschewed HTML mail.
Version 2 added some support for HTML mail, a much more powerful LDAP-compatible
address book, and for some users, a whole host of bugs.
Recent betas have been chasing these bugs away, and as a longtime user, I can say
2.01.50 seems ready for primetime.
Unchanged is TB’s speed, which is awesome. Even on a notebook, TB flies through
downloads, uploads, and message rendering.
Unlike other programs that should know better, you don’t need the mouse to blast
through message lists.
This is partially due to TB not displaying and downloading embedded or linked graphics
in HTML mail and partially because the HTML rendering is just the basics, but this
offers a level of viral protection simply not available with anything from Microsoft.
(Clicking a button displays HTML mail in an Internet Explorer window for those times
you must see an entire graphical message.)
TB’s plug-ins now finally have a real use outside of antivirus: antispam. There are a
few third-party antispam modules (most Bayesian) available, along with downloadable
mailboxes filled with thousands of junk-mail messages to quickly train them.
I found these as good as Apple’s junk mail filters—high praise, indeed.
TB is a little expensive ($35) in the face of free email programs, but
if you live and die by email, you’ll find it a bargain.

Can someone explain how it works? Will it work only if the recipient
of the email has TB! or will it work with outlook express? If the
person who sent the original email has deleted the original does this
not work?
Sorry for the lame question, I just dont quite understand what this

TB! for over a year now
and am used to it. The more Im using it the more I like it. However I don't think I
will give up TB! anytime
soon. Its still more powerful than any other email client I have tried. For today its
TB! tomorrow. maybe
Becky! who knows. They are both, in my opinion the best two email clients out there.

Hi,
Ive been using TB for about maybe 1.5 years now. I just started
messing with outlook 2003. You would think that software that is as
high priced as outlook could at least do some decent quoting of text.
Even in the latest version its horrible. The only thing outlook has
that I seriously like is the search folders which is a feature I would
like to see in TB one day. It makes life much easier.
TB really has some great features I take for granted at times like the
quoting, quick templates, macros, filters, etc... For the price its
simply a steal IMO.

Long Live TB! :)

Heres some info I copied out of the description of search folders in
outlook:
Think of a Search Folder as a virtual folder: It shows you messages as
if they were in the folder, but the messages don't actually exist there.
A Search Folder serves only as a report of search results.
That is, because Search Folders are virtual, they allow you to conveniently
see the messages you want to see, without messing up your filing
system (or forcing you to create one).

I would like to ditch the account trees for multiple accounts. Outlook
has it set up nice where when you reply to an email it automatically
