Public bug reported: Binary package hint: acidrip I would like to rip my DVD, recorded with my mini-DVD webcam, with ACIDRIP (version 0.14-0.2ubuntu) but the ripping isn't ok as acidrip rips my DVD with wrong aspect ratio (in the video settings I disabled crop and scales options so the movie should be ripped with no size modification). In fact my DVD has only 1 title and one vob file that it's 720x576 but the DVD movie has aspect ratio = 16:9 (1024x576). Either totem or acidrip preview shows it correctly (so they prescales ok with the .ifo files contents) but with wrong size info. Totem in fact shows a size of 720x576 (see bug #261168). The results is that the output file of the DVD ripping is at 720x576 size (4:3) while my DVD is at 16:9 I think that the problem is due to the fact that acidrip only reads .vob size and doesn't read .ifo DVD files. ** Affects: acidrip (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- acidrip rips DVD with wrong aspect ratio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261173 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 34501] Re: [HARDY] touchpad lockup/drag and lost scroll
I'm glad it works for someone other than me! :D The reason why I decided to perform that change was that I had noticed that xserver-xorg-input-synaptics is almost unmaintained (the latest available version dates July 2007 and is simply a git version, not a stable release), thus I thought the former maintainer had left some unstable and untested code into the driver before vanishing. I then opted for the stable protocol. Hope to see some more feedback and also know why Ubuntu devs have chosen the developmental version of an unmaintained driver as the default setting. -- [HARDY] touchpad lockup/drag and lost scroll https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 261178] [NEW] [intrepid] Random order of disk detection

[Bug 261173] Re: acidrip rips DVD with wrong aspect ratio
The only solution I have found to rip DVD correctly is to find the movie aspect ratio (with mplayer dvd:// I can read it in console) and setting the acidrip scale option to this value. I have found moreover another problem: the with field cannot exceed 1000 so if your movie is greater than it you have to calculate the correct proportion (that in some circustances cannot be accurate) -- acidrip rips DVD with wrong aspect ratio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261173 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 260962] Re: Gnome Terminal won't accept lowercase 'a' key.
I can replicate the problem as root, but not as another user. That said, it appears to be a settings issue where the update or another action screwed up some settings for gnome-terminal somewhere. A co-worker indicated there may be a key mapping file which gnome- terminal uses that has been corrupted. While this seems plausible to me, I would not know where to look for a file which is common to the root user and myself, but not to a new user which I just created. Any/all hints and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Public bug reported: I built the Intrepid source packages (6.2~beta2-2) on a Hardy AMD64 system. After installing, I configured with debconf. I chose the cell name equal to my cluster's name. Something must still be assuming SGE_CELL=default, though: $ sudo -u sgeadmin qconf -au peter users error: cell directory /var/lib/gridengine/default doesn't exist I do have a /var/lib/gridengine/perun directory, though. I'm in a hurry, so I'm just going to reinstall SGE with cell=default I haven't seen a good tutorial about setting up grid engine, although I have used it on a Sun cluster. ** Affects: gridengine (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- problems witht cell!=default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261190 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 176611] Re: Unable to exit fullscreen mode in rdesktop with compiz
Some additional info for the bug ... Rdesktop _does_ exit fullscreen mode in the described case, only the window decorations (title bar) are not added to the window. If you set up the Scale plugin in Compiz and a hot corner for activation (eg. the upper-left corner), then start rdesktop in fullscreen mode, try to move the mouse to the upper-left corner (nothing should happen), press Ctrl+Alt+Enter (some flickering occurs on the screen, but it _looks_like_ rdesktop is still in fullscreen mode) and now move the mouse to the upper-left corner again. This time the Scale plugin is triggered and you can switch to another application. So this might be an rdesktop bug after all. Sometime later I'll test the rdesktop version that is now in Intrepid and see if it fixes the problem. -- Unable to exit fullscreen mode in rdesktop with compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176611 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
