[Bug 780657] Re: FreeBSD Hangs on Boot
Yes it looks like the same. There is a comment on FreeBSD ACPI Mailing List for AMD CPUs, where the CPU Turbo Mode freeze native BSD Systems. Perhaps that correspondends with this bug, because it would first recognized on AMD Systems. If you prevent the boot menu of FreeBSD the BSD guests runs without any problems, or you are fast enough to hit the option or enter before the issue comes, than also BSD runs fine as KVM guest. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/780657 Title: FreeBSD Hangs on Boot -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 793115] [NEW] openssh in natty breaks monkeysphere
Public bug reported: Monkeysphere allows you to store your ssh keys in your gpg key. `monkeysphere s` should export your ssh key to the ssh-agent. Re: [Bug 791325] Re: NVIDIA disappearing title bar on Ubuntu 11.04
Hi Fabio, If you look at the link in the FAQ http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ubuntu-desktop-effects-fixing-the-missing- titlebar/ you will see that missing title bars has been around since Ubuntu 7.04 and that it is a nvidia problem, not a Java problem. Java manages to trigger the problem when it closes a window but Java isn't causing the problem. In the above link they talk of changing the resolution size, which isn't the case here. The proposed fix does help and I used it, but it doesn't solve the problem. If I could somehow try the experimental version, I would certainly check it to see if there is an improvement. I've got Ubuntu 11.04 running on both my desktop as well as my laptop and I see the problem on both systems. Interestingly Unity-2D seems to help to the point where in Unity-2D I have not yet seen the problem. Since Unity-2D doesn't use the nvidia driver, this is another strong indication that the problem is with the nvidia driver, and certainly not with Java. Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve Ubuntu. The error message in question points to a generic problem in the package manager, not a bug in the pam package itself. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. [Bug 776345] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 blank screen on boot
The problem finally got me too after I've updated my system yesterday. Just the regular update, no upgrade, and now my computer doesn't show any BIOS screen, any GRUB screen oder login screen anymore. It basically shows absolutely nothing until I get a weird greenish screen (picture a screen filled with green tildes) and a bigger greenish square in the middle that moves as I move the mouse (I guess it's supposed to be the cursor). Ctrl+Alt+F1 doesn't work so no luck accessing a console, restarting X doesn't work either. Since I don't get any other screen, I can't even boot from a live CD as I don't know when I get the boot selection menu (I'm blind) and even then, I wouldn't know which choice the CD would be. So yeah, my computer is basically wrecked for now. I know it's software because if I unplug/plug the DVI cable (nVidia GFX) a few times or long-press the power button, I get the Ubuntu logo and sometimes some console output on the green tildes for a few seconds before it shuts down. It beats me how a software update could butcher my computer all the way to the BIOS but the worst is: I can't even use a live CD or install another distro (too many let-downs with Ubuntu lately). Even if Ubuntu proposed an update to fix this, I couldn't even find the update manager and install it, that's how broken it is. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776345 Title: Ubuntu 11.04 blank screen on boot -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 793042] [NEW] greater changed to ellipsis in hungarian layout
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config Hy! Since I upgraded to natty, the greater symbol changed to the ellipsis symbol on the period key, what I consider as a bug as I and many others I know use that key the old way.. There are less / greater keys on Hungarian layout also on í and y keys but these located far from each other on many stupid laptop keyboards (the í key often moved to the right side of the keyboard) so it's more comfortable to use the other two (m and .) [Bug 793044] Re: unity-2d-places crashed with SIGSEGV in disconnect()

I produced this by installing all the debug packages providing symbols referenced in Didier Roche's manual trace (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity- 2d/+bug/791213/comments/2), after Cristian Aravena Romero's pointed out how that trace was incomplete (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /unity-2d/+bug/791213/comments/5). The trace here is the best I was able to produce (using binary packages), and is more complete than Didier Roche's manual trace, but this trace is still not perfect. I think some information may be destroyed by stack corruption every time this crash occurs. Most - notably, the following line appears in Didier Roche's manual trace, and - a corresponding line appears in this trace as well: + notably, the line - #44 0x01c6b2d9 in ?? [Bug 749986] Re: Resizing LO window from bottom right brings up pop-up and undesirable effects
As a temporary workaround, the resize grips in libreoffice can be disabled by using a custom gtkrc file and calling it from the command line. For example, create a .gtkrc-2.0__libreoffice file in your home directory, with the following content: style default-style { GtkWindow::resize-grip-height = 0 GtkWindow::resize-grip-width = 0 } class GtkWidget style default-style and then launch libreoffice writer (or another component) with the command: GTK2_RC_FILES=.gtkrc-2.0__libreoffice libreoffice -writer This disables the resize grips, but only works from the command line. To make it work for the gui launchers we have to modify all the libreoffice .desktop files. I have written a shell script to do this (to be run with sudo). It must also be run after every upgrade of libreoffice packages or appropriately copied to /etc/rc.local, if you prefer. The script makes backup copies of the original .desktop files, in the case something goes wrong. It works for me, but it should be probably tested by someone else. ** Attachment added: disable-libreoffice-resize-grips.sh https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/749986/+attachment/2155450/+files/disable-libreoffice-resize-grips.sh -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/749986 Title: Resizing LO window from bottom right brings up pop-up and undesirable effects -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 145523] Re: umountnfs should umount dependent dirs
The usual situation I have is that I have mounted a network filesystem and over that mounted a CD-ROM image using a loop device. If I forget to unmount the loop device before I shutdown or reboot the system will hang at unmounting for a long time because of the order of unmount (nfs before loop).
