[Bug 573690] Re: Kobil M-IDentity usb dongle : no write access anymore since 10.04

2013-09-02 Thread Claude Paroz
I have configured the /etc/udev/rules.d like in the FAQ of the
migrosbank. Does it make a difference if I dont have a number in front
of the name like you have ? kobil-midentity.rules

rule files are applied in alphabetical order. It means that if you don't
put any number in front of the name, the file will be applied after all
number-prefixed files, which should be OK in this case.

 I did not find this text-file in my system:
/lib/udev/rules.d/91-permissions.rules

Yes, this is dependent on the system (mine is Debian Wheezy).

 When I start it in the terminal, there are no error posts after the
crash.

Read the final note of my instructions. Monitor the /tmp directory while
you are launching the program. Try to open the created log file just
before the crash (yes, it is tricky!).

[Bug 10550] Re: DVDs with restrictive permissions are unreadable for normal user

2008-07-08 Thread Claude Paroz
Hopefully this bug can be addressed soon. I have been confronted with this
several times in the past. Especially when in a group of people copying some
CDs to their hard disks, and the only one having problems is the guy (me) who
boasts about Linux :-(
This is the sort of problems that prevents massive GNU/Linux adoption.
IMHO read-only medias (CD/DVD-ROM) should be made world-readable. It's no use
trying to respect FS rights when it suffices to boot with Windows or MacOS to
be able to read them.

[Bug 112166] Re: Bad french translation on Evolution

Bob,
Versions of GNOME after 2.18.1 are not always pushed in Ubuntu, excepting
security updates, of course.
So I think someone should find the string in Rosetta and correct it so as the

string in a large package like Evolution :-) Maybe through .po download -

[Bug 107971] Incomplete French translation

2007-04-20 Thread Claude Paroz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcompris

Rosetta shows that gcompris French translation is complete (last modification
on 03-03-2007).
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/feisty/+source/gcompris/+pots/gcompris/fr/+translate

However, the interface of gcompris in Feisty is only partially translated. If I
download the po from Rosetta, I can see that untranslated strings in the
interface are in fact commented in the po, as if the po template didn't match
the current version of gcompris.

[Bug 74138] Re: String Starting Administrative application non translatable

2007-03-20 Thread Claude Paroz
Of course, after correcting the source, you need to generate a new pot
file and translate the corresponding string in the updated language.po
file.

[Bug 68201] Re: No translations for gnome-orca

2007-01-19 Thread Claude Paroz
By who and when should the PO template be generated? Is it an upstream problem,
or is it the maintainer job?
I want to be sure the problem will be solved at least for Feisty.

[Bug 74138] Re: String Starting Administrative application non translatable

2007-01-06 Thread Claude Paroz
I think I found the problem.
In Dapper, this string is in the gksu_1.3.7-0ubuntu9.diff:
2250 ++  if (sudo_mode)
2251 ++ sn_launcher_context_set_description (context-sn_context,
2252 ++   _(Starting Administrative
Application));

In Edgy, the patch has move to libgksu_1.9.8-1ubuntu4.diff:
11 ++  if (context-sudo_mode)
12 ++  {
13 ++sn_launcher_context_set_description (context-sn_context,
14 ++ (Starting Administrative Application));

You can notice the missing _ before the string in the Edgy patch, that
is why the string doesn't appear in the libgksu translation template in
Rosetta.

It's still not in the Feisty patch. Michael ?

[Bug 78012] Re: Untranslated string in french

2007-01-05 Thread Claude Paroz

string anywhere in Rosetta either (I also searched language-packs in
French, with no luck).

[Bug 78012] Re: Untranslated string in french

2007-01-05 Thread Claude Paroz
The correction should appear with the next language-pack update for Edgy (and
probably in Feisty after translation import).
Not sure if the string is present in Dapper (not found in libapt-pkg3.11).

[Bug 68712] Re: IMPORTANT bad translation in file index-fr_FR.html

2006-10-28 Thread Claude Paroz
No problem.
I suppose this mention of free of charge is more in opposition to the
business model chosen by distros like Redhat, Mandriva, Xandros, etc. that
offer a free (as in beer) version, somewhat reduced in functionalities, and a
commercial complete version.
