It is interesting that you suggested bug #439448. I suffered with it
when using Ubuntu 10.10 in this machine. But after the upgrade to Natty
I never had this problem (well, until now maybe).

I tested what Ivan said and it is true. When I launch the first Skype
instance the icon is screwed, but when I launch a second instance both
icons are just fine.

After an update earlier today (linux-image 2.6.38-11-generic + nvidia-

I already restarted the computer a few times and Skype icon appears

[Bug 713210] [NEW] texlive-pictures package should depend on ruby

2011-02-04 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: texlive-base

Hi,

Package texlive-pictures does not depends (or recommends) ruby. However,
I found that /usr/bin/epspdf and /usr/bin/epspdftk depends on ruby.

I do have ruby1.9.1 installed, but both scripts call ruby directly and
ruby1.9.1 provides the command ruby1.9.1.

Thanks,

[Bug 708747] [NEW] *Lots* of DEBUG messages from GsmDBusClient

2011-01-27 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Hi,

I'm not sure whether this is a real bug or not, but my ~/.xsession-
errors always have lots and lots of error messages coming from gnome-
session. Most of the times, the error is this one:

** (gnome-session:1560): DEBUG: GsmDBusClient:
obj_path=/org/freedesktop/DBus interface=org.freedesktop.DBus
method=NameOwnerChanged

But there are other error coming from gnome-session. I'm attaching my
.xsession-errors in this bug report.

If this is a real error message, what can be causing it? Else, if this
is just a debug message, then why debug log is enabled in the final
version distributed in Ubuntu?

[Bug 697050] [NEW] Gnucash console output is too verbose

2011-01-03 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Hi,

When executed from a terminal, Gnucash output is very, very verbose. It
prints too much logging information (with log levels INFO and DEBUG). It
pollutes the terminal, and is very annoying.

I think that the Gnucash included in Ubuntu should be compiled with a
lower logger level (if possible).

2010-12-22 Thread DanielCordeiro

I have a ODBC data source configured using iodbc for a PostgreSLQ database.

[Bug 629640] [NEW] pt-BR firefox translation is not working

2010-09-03 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-pack-pt

Hi,

I just installed Maverick Beta and Firefox is being displayed in pt-PT
instead of pt-BR. When I disable the pt-PT translation in the add-ons

Not sure if it related to this bug, but when Lucid entered beta I also
had a problem with the pt-BR translation for Firefox (bug #544203).
Maybe there is something wrong with the packaging procedure...

[Bug 536856] Re: Lucid 2.6.32-16 (firefox-bin:1460): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

2010-03-30 Thread DanielCordeiro
I have the same problem. But the error message is slightly different:
(firefox-bin:6158): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

I just cleared up my .xsession-errors and started a flash video inside
Firefox. The .xsession-errors got filled with 152 errors like this in a
few seconds of video.

I'm using an updated Lucid with Firefox version: 3.6+nobinonly-0ubuntu6
and flashplugin-installer version: 10.0.45.2ubuntu1.

Is this a reincarnation of bug #401823 ?

[Bug 544288] [NEW] No error shown when opening URL with corrupt torrent

2010-03-22 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: transmission

Probably there are two bugs here.

First, transmission report the torrent available at
http://www.tug.org/texlive/texlive2009.torrent as corrupted, while
bittorrent, uTorrent, and Enhanced CTorrent have been reported to work.
I don't know if the torrent is really corrupted or not.

Secondly, the add url dialog don't shown anything if I try to add the
same torrent using the original URL. It should show an error dialog to
inform that the torrent is corrupted.

[Bug 249424] Re: pt_BR translations getting replaced with pt_PT for some applications

2008-11-07 Thread DanielCordeiro
Hello,

Just to give more information, this bug is still present in Intrepid and people
started to complain again about it [ at bug #204705 ].

It seens [ https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-pack-
gnome-pt/+bug/204705/comments/6 ] that a temporary solution would be to
delete the line “X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-terminal” in file
/usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop . Maybe this information
can help you to find the real cause for this bug.

Since the translations for Terminal in Brazilian Portuguese and in
European Portuguese (Terminal vs. Consola) are quite different, it
is a annoying bug for Brazilian users. :-P

Cheers,
Daniel

[Bug 295312] [NEW] pt_BR translation problem for Mouse

2008-11-07 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Hello,

There is a annoying translation error in the item Mouse in Gnome menu
Preferences for pt_BR locale.
The word Mouse (translated as Mouse in pt-BR) is shown as Rato (which is
the translation for European Portuguese pt-PT.

In bug #204705, translators said that the translation is correct and
attested that it should be a problem with gettext.

It seens [ https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-pack-
gnome-pt/+bug/204705/comments/6 ] that a temporary solution would be to
delete the line “X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-control-center-2.0″ in
file /usr/share/applications/gnome-settings-mouse.desktop . Maybe this
information can help you to find the real cause for this bug.

A very similar problem was reported in bug #249424 for the Terminal
menu entry.

Both bugs are around since Hardy beta and are still present in Intrepid.
:(

Daniel

[Bug 207253] [NEW] command export zip produces files with permission 000

2008-03-26 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bzr

All files and directories looses its permissions after being exported to
a zip file by the command export.

Steps to reproduce:
- create a new repository, add a file and commit;
- bzr export ../test.zip
- unzip the new file test.zip.

All files in test.zip are unzipped with permissions 000 (what is very
annoying). :(

DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04
Package: bzr 1.2~rc1-1build2

[Bug 204606] [NEW] bookmarks in bookmarks toolbar aren't shown after upgrade

2008-03-21 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

After upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy Beta, my Firefox doesn't show the bookmarks
in the bookmarks toolbar anymore.
If I list all the bookmarks (Bookmarks / Show All Bookmarks), however, I can
see the missing bookmarks in the folder Favoritos / Barra dos Favoritos.

This may be a localization problem (before the upgrade I was using
Firefox in pt-BR, but after that it is in english).

[Bug 204613] [NEW] openoffice.org-l10n-en-us (1072)

2008-03-21 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-selector

After the upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy Beta, my language selector don't
work very well.

When I lunch it, the language selector displays a message saying that
the language support is not completely installed (the details shows only
openoffice.org-l10n-en-us (1072)). Clicking in install, it says that
there are broken packages that I must fix before continuing.

Synaptic doesn't shows any broken package.

Binary package hint: evolution-data-server

After upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy, I have the evolution-data-server
process eating all my CPU (from 80% to 95% when no other program is
running).

I don't use evolution and it Evolution is not even configured in this machine.

[Bug 204705] [NEW] tradução de mouse c omo rato em pt-BR

2008-03-21 Thread DanielCordeiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-pack-gnome-pt

In Hardy Beta running Gnome with pt-BR locale system, the shortcut to
the Mouse Preferences application is badly translated.

Mouse Preferences is correctly translated to Preferência do Mouse, but
its shortcut in gnome System menu (at Sistema / Preferências) is
translated as Rato. Altought correct in Portuguese from Portugal, it
is a odd translation to Brazilian Portuguese.

Should be Mouse.
