[Bug 1159361] Re: zoneminder not creating local unix sockets for streaming
My results, based on Bill, Alain and Donovan comments: 1) Keep the default zone apache.conf without the ScriptAlias. 2) Stop both zoneminder and apache2 sudo service apache2 stop sudo service zoneminder stop 2) Remove any stale sockets from /tmp/zm (default location): sudo rm -vf /tmp/zm/*.* 3) sudo a2enmod cgi 4) Start zoneminder sudo service zoneminder start 5) Start apache2 sudo service apache2 start I found out that the order was important for step 4 and 5, otherwise it doesn't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159361 Title: zoneminder not creating local unix sockets for streaming To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zoneminder/+bug/1159361/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1316289] Re: unable to add startup applications in gnome-tweak-tool
Ah, forgot to mention. For those who know how to read the change that Ben proposes and would like to fix it locally, you can do so by correcting the file: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gtweak/tweaks/tweak_group_startup.py It works great after that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316289 Title: unable to add startup applications in gnome-tweak-tool To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-tweak-tool/+bug/1316289/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1299829]
dear Serguey I submitted the bug report and possible keyboard alternative map, as I fixed it on my Ubuntu machine (and per SIL standards) However I am not competent to confirm your fix is OK, sorry I am not knowledgeable at all on Linux and I have no clue on how to test your fixes using the page mentionned. [Bug 1299829] [NEW] keyboard for Bambara not usable : name in evdev.xml points to Malayalam.
Public bug reported: I am dong research in africa, languages, I have little knowledge about Linux/Ubuntu. I have been implementing bambara keyboards for Windows and Mac OSX (with Ukelele). A year ago I noticed that I could not use the keyboard for Bambara, apparently it was giving access to a strange asian language. Since then, my Ubuntu computer is updated regularly, it now runs Ubuntu 13.10 I spent a lot of time yesterday, I share what I found : 1) the name in rules/edvdev.xml for this keyboard is ml this code is actually the one for a language called Malayalam, spoken in Kerala, south of India. Nothing to do with West Africa, and it's this language alphabet which is displayed when a user selects the Bambara keyword. I changed it to bm, which is the ISO 639-1 code. (I changed also the ! layout section in evdev.lst) 2) the ml file in symbols is actually for Bambara! Some of the keys defined are obsolete, it does not align with the keys used by other SIL.org keyboard, but it is for bambara. I copied this file into a file called bm and renamed ml as ml-old I updated the bm file to align it to the SIL standards. This fixed it... only partially : the Malayalam keyboard does not display any longer when I select Bambara. I does now display the bambara keyboard. But : it still displays the one defined in the old ml file, not the one I corrected in the bm file!!! I messed up, restarted several times, to no avail : still the old obsolete keyboard. The only thing that works is that I can now use the keyboard variant which is defined in my bm as French (Mali, alternative) with my new keys definitions. When I add the basic Bambara keyboard, it displays the old layout. In the drop down list of keyboard at the top right of the screen, it is there... but greyed out. French (Mali, alternative) is OK for my personal use, but my objective is to make it available generally as Bambara. Please help. Of cours I'm OK to supply the bm file Jean-Jacques, Paris ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299829 Title: keyboard for Bambara not usable : name in evdev.xml points to Malayalam. [Bug 1299829] Re: keyboard for Bambara not usable : name in evdev.xml points to Malayalam.
Hi there I have made a little progress understanding why my changes do not take place. in fact, it works all right (almost) - le bm keyboard is no longer greyed out if the labels in the bm file, evdev.xml and evdev.lst are aligned I made them all Bambara (Mali) and French (Mali, Bambara)-this is better than French (Mali, alternative) ! and it works - the last thing that does not work is the dispay of layout of the keyboard : it still show the old layout sa defined the ml file... but it works ok as defined in the new corrected bm file I'm attaching the files (zipped) that go under X11/KBD/rules (evdev.xml and evdev.lst) and X11/KBD/symbols (bm) at the minute I still have a problem with the ALTGR+, which sould produce a GRAVE ACCENT (U0060) but still gives the former definition of the key : bizarely, change takes time! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299829 Title: keyboard for Bambara not usable : name in evdev.xml points to Malayalam. [Bug 993655] Re: Unity looses mouse click handler when using enabling USB headset
Turns out this is a XORG issue. Fixed it by creating a file called 50-plantronics.conf in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d with the following content: Section InputClass Identifier Plantronics MatchVendor Plantronics Option Ignore true EndSection This gets X to ignore the Plantronics device, which makes the mouse problem go away. Unfortunatly this also seem to stop the MIC from working so I need to figure ouy how to get that better. Hopefully somebody makes more progress and has some more advice soon. ** Attachment added: 50-plantronics.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/993655/+attachment/3647335/+files/50-plantronics.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993655 Title: Unity looses mouse click handler when using enabling USB headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/993655/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 988583] Re: grub-mount hangs when update-grub is ran
Same bug here on MacBook air mid 2011. Very annoying. Indeed, trying to replace grub-mound executable from QQ repository does not help. I've seen some exchanges on the web between what seems to be the developers of grub and they seemed to be happy about the correction of this bug. Have someone found where is the source of this corrected version of grub-mount and how to compile it under PP ? [Bug 988583] Re: grub-mount hangs when update-grub is ran
Meanwhile, I managed to compile grub-mount from the source repository of grub (http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/) with the lastest known version (bzr branch http://bzr.savannah.gnu.org/r/grub/trunk/grub). I replaced the buggy ubuntu binary with the one I just compiled...and it works !
