[Bug 1880338] [NEW] Python extensions does not work

2020-05-23 Thread Lars Ljung
Public bug reported:

When trying to use Python extensions I get the following error message
in the console:

Can't Spawn!!! spawn returns: Failed to execute child process “” (No
such file or directory)

This seems to be caused by a missing /usr/bin/python. It works if I
create a symlink, but I'm not sure if Inkscape expects python2 or
python3.

[Bug 528720] Re: Keyboard stuck with irqbalance

2010-04-01 Thread Lars Ljung
There are two others confirming this bug so I'm changing the status to
confirmed.

To disable irqbalance you can edit /etc/default/irqbalance and set
ENABLED=0. Also, I think it's safe to just uninstall it.

[Bug 528720] [NEW] Keyboard stuck with irqbalance

2010-02-26 Thread Lars Ljung
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: irqbalance

Shortly after logging in to the system it stops responding to keyboard
and mouse (not even SysRq works). The clock is still being updated and I
can access the system through SSH.

Sometimes I'm able to start a terminal window with the mouse. When I
then press one single key that character is repeated indefinitely in the
terminal window. At the same time the mouse stops responding.

When I disable irqbalance everything works fine. I haven't seen anything
odd in the logs (or dmesg) and I don't know how to investigate this
further.

The system is a P4 with HT so irqbalance might not be useful anyway, but
it shouldn't hang the system.

2009-11-07 Thread Lars Ljung
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How
to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at

1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and

[Bug 463003] Re: LC_COLLATE edit in ~/.profile Breaks Update Manager

2009-10-30 Thread Lars Ljung
As I said, Nautilus will automatically fall back to C when the locale
can't be found. But when the specified locale is found it will of course
use that one. So you are using the C collation rules instead of the
en_US.UTF-8 ones, and they are obviously different.

Have a look at the attached XsessionErrors.txt. Nautilus (and others)
reports Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library. That file
is called ~/.xsession-errors on your local machine. If you set
LC_COLLATE=C you should stop seeing those warnings.

[Bug 463003] Re: LC_COLLATE edit in ~/.profile Breaks Update Manager

2009-10-29 Thread Lars Ljung
The locale en_US.iso88591 doesn't exist on your system which means that
Nautilus and others will fall back to the C locale for LC_COLLATE. The
command locale -a will show you all available locales on your system.
Your probably want to use LC_COLLATE=C in your ~/.profile

Since this is a configuration error I'm marking the report as invalid.

2009-10-11 Thread Lars Ljung
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How
to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

2009-10-08 Thread Lars Ljung
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see
