[Bug 2067185] [NEW] Default NetworkManager Security Configuration for IPv6 Causes Severe Hang
Public bug reported: After upgrading to 24.04 on my laptop, I noticed my boot was taking about 2 minutes. After a lot of troubleshooting, I determined that when I add a network connection through KDE, it has the IPv6 security set to default. The default behavior is to apply IPv6 privacy settings. Running NetPlan debug, this step takes around two minutes. Setting the wireless connection configuration IPv6 privacy to "disabled", my wireless connects instantly and my computer no longer hangs for two minutes when booting. When adding new wireless connections, however, the Plasma desktop also freezes for about two minutes during this step until I can edit the connection and disable the "default" privacy feature. I'm not sure if this is due to a problem in KDE (should this setting be disabled by default?) or in NetworkManager (should the "default" configuration have this disabled?), in NetPlan (should it have something in the default network configuration for all connections that set `stable-privacy` (which seems to be the "disabled" option)? Regardless, this process taking nearly two minutes, adding that to the boot time, seems unacceptable. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067185 Title: Default NetworkManager Security Configuration for IPv6 Causes Severe Hang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2067185/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 852349] Re: sqlite2 support
Unfortunately, there is still a lot of software that requires SQLite2, and I still believe that it should be provided as long as people keep having a need for it and major software (like RoundCube) require it. (The camera kind of blends some of the flickers together) ** Attachment added: Video (ogg) of screen flicker with Radeon driver on 10.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/663660/+attachment/1702465/+files/radeon_screen_flicker.ogg -- KWin+Radeon+Latest Kernel AMD64 Constantly Crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663660 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 558923] Re: binaries installed by fglrx-amdcccle not added to PATH
This affects KUbuntu as well, at least. I suspect it affects all branches. I've upgraded two computers which use this driver, and installed amdcccle, and it is unknown to the rest of the system. I had thought the package was just broken, but after reading this bug, I found the package in the location mentioned. I took some pictures to add to this. The first shot is of my laptop LCD after manually killing X. Right now, I can't even get X back all the way after killing it. I think this bug may affect me as well. I have an MSI Wind U210 with a Radeon x1250. It works OK, but changing resolution will often knock even my LCD panel into flickering wildly. I accidentally marked this bug under Xournal, my apologies for that, but things work fine now, I hope this fix makes it in soon. -- [regression, intrepid] redraw problems, patches from fedora https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272316 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 291716] [NEW] Xournal does not refresh while drawing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xournal All other packages that use the tablet work fine. The line is indeed drawn, but it does not show up until the canvas is moved or resized. I like Xournal as a note-taking application, but this makes it unusable. I have tried several combinations of preferences with no success. ** Affects: xournal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xournal does not refresh while drawing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291716 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

At the time of this report, the only modification was enabling WACOM devices. When the problem first happened, the xorg.conf was unchanged. I tried using EXA, and not only did it not enable acceleration, it created draw artifacts. -- Direct Rendering / Acceleration Lost with Kernel 2.6.27-7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282525 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 282525] [NEW] Direct Rendering / Acceleration Lost with Kernel 2.6.27-7
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati After trying many many things over the last few hours, I have found that while direct rendering / graphics acceleration works perfectly on my ATi Radeon XPress 200M using Kernel 2.6.27-6, it is quite broken using the -7 release. No change is required to make it work again except to use the different kernel. I suspect it is something with the Kernel image, but I am listing it here because this is the broken package, I think. I apologize if it is incorrectly categorized. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Direct Rendering / Acceleration Lost with Kernel 2.6.27-7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282525 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 277716] Re: [Intrepid Beta] Card does not seem to work with b43
I figured out what the problem was/is. It seems that the hardware and software does not quite agree with one another. The radio can be physically turned on, but not recognized, and vice-versa. Here is the output from dmesg that pertains to the card: [ 286.381451] b43-phy0: Broadcom 4318 WLAN found [ 286.453427] phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'pid' [ 286.673598] Broadcom 43xx driver loaded [ Features: PLR, Firmware-ID: FW13 ] [ 290.793536] input: b43-phy0 as /class/input/input8 [ 290.880108] firmware: requesting b43/ucode5.fw [ 290.94] firmware: requesting b43/pcm5.fw [ 290.959994] firmware: requesting b43/b0g0initvals5.fw [ 290.999729] firmware: requesting b43/b0g0bsinitvals5.fw [ 291.124146] b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10) [ 291.254922] Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio [ 291.426283] NET: Registered protocol family 17 [ 291.808120] b43-phy0: Radio hardware status changed to DISABLED [ 323.75] b43-phy0: Radio hardware status changed to ENABLED [ 341.500067] b43-phy0: Radio turned on by software [ 356.000154] b43-phy0: Radio hardware status changed to DISABLED [ 402.653085] input: b43-phy0 as /class/input/input9 [ 402.913896] b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10) [ 403.063047] Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio [ 403.676087] b43-phy0: Radio hardware status changed to DISABLED [ 403.764103] b43-phy0: Radio turned on by software [ 403.764119] b43-phy0: The hardware RF-kill button still turns the radio physically off. I guess it's not really a bug, but without knowing to look at dmesg, I don't know how anyone would know the right sequence of button presses to get the card enabled! As you may notice, even with the help of dmesg it took me several tries to get it working. [Bug 277716] [NEW] [Intrepid Beta] Card does not seem to work with b43
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter I first apologize if this bug is filed incorrectly. I am filing it after several hours of troubleshooting and searching. I am also new to bug reporting, so please forgive me for a lack of etiquette. I recently installed the beta of Ubuntu Intrepid. Everything seemed to work OK, and when I installed b43-fwcutter, my blue wireless light came on, and everything seemed good, but I could not find any wireless networks. I entered one manually, and it would not connect. I tried several fixes, none of which worked. I plugged in my D-Link USB wireless card, and installed the Windows driver with NDISWrapper, and it worked fine. Thus, I conclude that my problem is not Network Manager. This wireless card has been working perfectly for quite a while now under Ubuntu Hardy Heron, using the bcm43xx wireless driver. When I attempted to unload the driver, I realized that the card is now being used under the b43 driver. My exact card is as follows: 06:02.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02) The card IS recognized, it just doesn't see any wireless networks. Even with my D-Link plugged in, and showing a nearly full signal to my network, wlan0 (Broadcom), shows the network name with an empty bar, and as a Connect to Other Network option. (This fails) Again, this card works perfectly under bcm43xx. If you would like me to run some commands to provide you with more information, please let me know. Currently, my exact package is of version 1:011-4ubuntu1 ** Affects: b43-fwcutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Intrepid Beta] Card does not seem to work with b43 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277716 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
