[vdr] VDR 1.5.17 - pre 1.3.19 compatibility mode problems
Hi, I upgraded from VDR 1.4.7 to 1.5.17 and noticed that some of my old recordings won't play decently with this new version. Here's a syslog entry and example clip can be found from http://kotisivu.suomi.net/izero/vdr-darwin/ddmode_example.zip (9MB) Those problematic recordings were done with some 1.3.x series VDR with ttxtsubs plugin in fall 2004. Plays fine with VDR 1.4.7, but playback stutters when playing with VDR 1.5.17. My system has DVB-C FF 2.1 and DVB-C budget cards. Running on Fedora 5. [vdr] cChannels::ReNumber() maxNumber
Hi all, if I empty channels.conf while VDR is running then cChannels::ReNumber() doesnot set cChannels::maxNumber to 0. Is this a feature ? Of course, when vdr is restarted I have maxNumber set to 0, thanks to initialization in cChannels(). Could we not, in the beginning of ReNumber(), set maxNumber = 0 ? I am running 1.4.7, 1.5.16 seems to be the same. Thanks. -- Sundararaj ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr

I was lucky to get REALLY suitable program for testing from finnish YLE FST channel. There was a talk show where they talked in finnish and swedish. The difference between live mode and replay mode was interesting: Live mode: - talk in finnish: no subtitles - talk in swedish: finnish subtitles Replay mode: case 1 (when start from a moment there is finnish talk) - talk in finnish: swedish subtiles - talk in swedish: no subtitles OR case 2 (when start from a moment there is swedish talk) - talk in swedish: finnish subtitles - talk in finnish: swedish subtiles - talk in swedish: no subtiles anymore after finnish dialog I hope you understand. Another program (danish speaking series) from same channel. In live mode I got finnish subtitle and in replay mode subtitles were in swedish. So t seems that live mode is OK but replay mode behaves really strange. Language setup in DVB menu was still the same, suomi (finnish) for Audio and Subtitle (only one language). [vdr] DXR3 and subtitles in 1.5.x
Hi, E-tobi's experimental VDR branch moved to 1.5.x series, so I did too, but I'm running into some problems. Specifically, this one: Mar 4 21:05:22 dvd vdr: [17719] dxr3: colormanager: bummer, too many sections (14), reusing last one I digged archives and found out the reason apparently is that DXR3 doesn't completely support 8-bit OSD but claims to do so. Result is OSD that's made illegible by tearing white lines etc. Ok, so the solution for OSD (and default themes?) seems to be to turn off the anti-aliasing, which then reduces number of colors enough to make it work. However, there's still the problem of (DVB) subtitles: similar tearing makes the subtitles unusable. On top of that, opening an OSD when there are subtitles seems to make VDR crash and burn. Has anyone had the same problem and possibly even come up with the solution? -- Sami Sundell [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr

I spent awhile googling IPTV to see what could be used with this plugin. The big network sites like NBC and CBS came up and they do list shows you can watch online. But I found none of the info that would be needed to configure the plugin to work with these sites. Other sites that came up where www.dishnetpc.com/ and www.direct-pctv.com/ which claim unlimited access to 9000 channels if you buy their $40 software. Something noticably lacking from those sites is a REAL LIST of the channels they give access to.
