Re: [Videolib] Purchasing Yellow Earth
Thanks everyone! Nice to know I’m not the only one who cannot locate the title. And thank you Jennifer. I had not heard of those other two sources, the JP source is sold out and the CH source is not clear whether there would be subtitles. The Tower VHS is 99$! Never even thought of Tower Video. The distributor is Wellspring, and they are long gone; although interesting that none of the copies I found had Wellspring as distributor. Informative article from 2006 from Indiewire on the state of Art House distribution. http://www.indiewire.com/2006/02/as-wellspring-closes-examining-the-state-of-the-art-house-distribution-77107/ I’ll try one of these and see what happens. As always, I appreciate all the replies. I learn so much. [Videolib] purchasing "Yellow Earth"
Hi all, Me again. Wow, this is a week of challenging searched for titles. I'm looking for a copy of Yellow Earth, I see some DVD's are out there, but it looks like VHS is all that is avail. OCLC: 312164969 My problem, I need English subtitles and am not sure by looking at records (for example, Amazon). No indication of subtitling in English. The VHS is from Fox Lorber and I 'assume' there are subtitles, but no indication. They also put out a DVD, but no copies avail. Guangxi Film Studio is also a distributor. There are libes that have DVD holdings and I can also ILL (if allowed of course). I just figured it's a fairly canonical work and therefore it would be easy to find. Or not. As always, leads are welcome.
