Fall from a height=drop That is basically the way to play the game. To fill in an answer, you double tap the clue, and simply type in the answer. Unfortunately, there are occasional games/puzzles that don't tell you the number of letters in the clue, but scrolling through the clues will usually yield an answer that gives you a precise answer to give you an idea of the letter count in each answer. You can either play with a timer, where you have a limited amount of time to answer all of the clues, or you can play in a timeless puzzle, meaning while the timer is going, there is no time limit and so you can take as long as you want to play the puzzle,or time yourself to see how long it takes you to complete the puzzle. There are sound events that tell you when an answer is correct or not. If an answer is correct, you'll get a pop sound. If the answer is incorrect, you get no sound event at all, and so must delete the letters you input and start entering the letters again, but be aware that if you're filling in an answer where only the last letter is incorrect, you can simply delete that last letter, and type in the replacement. This goes for all the letters as there is an edit field just above the keyboard that gives you access to the answer you're typing in. There is a quit button, at which point you're given the option of continuing the game, resuming the game at a later time, or quitting altogether. When you quit the game altogether, you're given the answers and can scroll through them as you see fit. Once the puzzle is complete or quitted, there are three buttons at the bottom that give you the option of doing the previous puzzle, re-doing the current puzzle, or doing the next puzzle in the pack. I would say that 95% of the game is accessible, and the 5% that is not accessible is the labeling of a few elements, but the game play area with the timer, correct answers to total answers and the edit field and clue area are completely accessible. When you first start the game, you're taken to a screen where you can choose to start playing or view more games by the company. Double tapping the Play button, which is clearly labeled takes you to the second screen where you have the option of selecting between playing the latest released games, in other words, the daily puzzle component, or playing one of the packs you've purchased. there are a few elements on this page that are not clearly labeled, such as the buttons, but directly after each button is the button label which is tappable, so one does not have to double tap the button itself in order to make your option, one can double tap the label to choose. Once you double tap your option, you're taken to the third page with the list of puzzles, though these are simply labeled 1, 2, 3 and 4 and so on. Hi, My 4S is jailbroken with Evasi0n running 6.1. I think I heard there was a 6.11 and 6.2 out now. weirdness with new charger cord
Hi, I recently bought a new charger cord so I could leave one in its normal place and carry the other with me. I received it yesterday but am seeing something very weird. When I plug in the new cord to the phone the phone seems to lose its keyboard settings. The way the keyboard works under VO goes away and it starts working like it does without VO turned on. However, VO is still speaking. If I place my finger on a key and just hold it there the key is selected and the character is entered into the edit field. If I place my finger on a button after a very short time that button is selected and that app/utility is opened. Has anyone else seen anything at all like this? Should I avoid using the new cord? ios garageband and recording
Dear listers, When recording in garageband for ios, there's something I encounter that I don't know how to work right. When hitting the record button, garageband recoards what you are doing for 8 measures. It's 8 measures, because the default length for a region is 8 bars. After that, recording stops, the playhead wraps to the beginning of the region, and you can continue playing, but it won't be recorded any longer. This situation is not what you want, when attempting to get a track done. Because once you have recorded something, 4 out of 5 times, you will want to redo it, because playing on glass is not easy. How do I undo what I just recorded? Second, once I know how to undo my recording of the latest region, and then re recoard it till it's right, can I also merge newly played material with something already recorded in the region? It seems that every time I record the same region on the same track, my new keystrokes will replace what's already there, while I want to play on top of the existing region. Here's what I'm trying to do. I have chords needing a left and a right hand. So I'm not using the automated stuff here, because the chords I have are not the straight forward ones that garageband has to offer. Therefore, I would like to first record the right hand, and do that over and over till I get it exactly right, and then on top of that, record the left hand, blending the left hand with what was already recorded in the track for the right hand. I need to merge, because on the iphone you only have 9 hole notes on the glass keyboard, while the range I want to play spans multiple octaves. How do you folks handle this situation? Does garageband for the mac handle recording in the same way the ios garageband does it, like I described above? If so, how do you go about recording, undoing, re recording, and then merging in new stuff till the region contains what you want? I'm very curious for your answers, because I've been playing and trying for some ten days now, hoping the coin would drop in at any moment, but I have not succeeded so far. Hallo Valerie, I am typing this with Fleksy as well. However, if I try to do it using the accurate method I find it won't work for me. So for now I will stick to words easily recognized by the onboard dictionary. Also, a tip for you, if you follow your first sentence with a two finger flick down you will input a new line and your first sentence will become the subject line of your message. Fleksy is really useful as a quick way to input text when on the go, especially when you don't have a keyboard with you. I can even use it when on a moving train! I don't do anything clever with it because of the short comings of the accurate mode. This may well be my own fault though, as I note that most other people seem to do pretty well with that mode. Your solution is still in very good one and provides an alternative to using an app. In fact what I do with Weather Underground is taken a step further by putting my ZIP Code and when that page loads with my ZIP Code I save that on to my home screen. So on my home screen weather section I will have different city shortcuts for the ones I am interested in. However for the app solution, I like using the Fahrenheit app. I don't usually use it for detailed weather information though. Is this for an iPhone 5? I have notice that if I have my iPod 5th gen still plugged in with it fully charged, mine acts really weird. Just by sliding my finger around on the screen, apps open without me double tapping on them. Once it is fully charged, I have to remove it from the charger, which I mean to, but it happens as soon as it reaches 100 percent charged, that is how I know it is at 100 percent. Since buying my iPod 5th gen back in November, I have had to buy 2 other charging cables. I don’t know why the lightning cables aren’t as durable as the 30 pin cables were. Big Oven offers the ability to add recipes of your own and also the ability to search and add search results to favorites. Once you open the app, give it a few minutes to load. At the top left, it will say online. If you double tap on where it says Home Recipes On, you will be given things like Search over 250,000 recipes, Recipe Collections, Menus, My Friends Recipes, Use Up Leftovers, Recent Raves, Random Recipe and Cooking Nearby. If you double tap on where it says Home Kitchen On, you will find things like Menu Planner, Grocery List, My Recipes, Favorite Recipes, Recipes To Try Soon, Recipes I’ve Added, Recipes I’ve Made, My Menus and Add Recipes. And finally if you double tap where it says Home Elsewhere On, you will find things like Sign In, Help, Contact Big Oven, Advertise With Big Oven, Tell A Friend About Big Oven, Trouble Shooting and Big Oven Food Glossary. Hello Joseph, The big Jambox is a wonderful device. I would recommend it for anyone. But to address your question, I would say that to get the most out of your device, 1 Navigate to Http://www.jawbone.com and sign up for MyTalk. You must be signed up in order for you to get updates for your Jambox. While you are there, please connect your Jawbone to your computer via the USB cable. 2 While you are at the Jawbone page, download the updater and save it to a familiar folder on your computer, such as a Download folder. 3 Install the updater on your computer, it is a regular installable program. 4 After the updater has been installed, it will put an icon on your desktop called Jawbone Updater. 5 Please launch the desktop applet entitled Jawbone Updater, and it will connect both you and your device to the Jawbone web page. 6 Give it a couple of minutes, and then begin navigating the web page and you will either see updates for your device, or there is no updates for your device. If no updates, then your device is up-to-date. To the subject whether you can independently choose some of the options for your device, you are going to need help. The feature that I recommend is something called party mode, I believe. Other than that, the device is extremely easy to use with voice prompts. All the best. Yes, it is a pain but can be made to work on the iPhone, however, this is not the case on the iPad. One thing that I have noticed about Blind Square is that if you are in a vehicle and moving over 40 MPH, BS will tell you that you are moving too fast, and its info may not be accurate. Jennifer, I don't know how to do this without a braille display or bluetooth keyboard, or if it is even possible. With a braille display, you open the note to be renamed and, with contracted braille turned off, press the letter r and dot 8 in combination. This key combo will bring up an edit field where you can type the new name. I'm curious to know how to rename files using only the phone. Fb push notification problem.
Hi all, Posted this a couple of days ago, but got no responce. I have a 3gs and have a problems with fb notifications. I am not getting any notifications for my fb time line. I'm not sure I understand the question, if you just start typing in the to field, a list will pop up of matching addresses in your contacts (not just your favorites). You can select one of these addresses or just finish typing in the address you want to include, such as if it isn't in your contacts. Notifications have been a bit funny since the recent update. A few people I know, including me, have had to uninstall the app and reinstall it in order to get notifications to work again even though they are already on. This did not work for me until yesterday, but I seem to be getting them again now. No idea why this has happened or what is going on. But I know that several people have had the same problem. Hi, I found this a bit troublesome at first but now, well, it's just so easy! Be sure what your cursor is positioned in the to field And either dictate or type in a part of the persons name. Now you need to put your finger more or less in-line with the two field and you will find hopefully the person you are needing. You may need to flick left or right in order to locate that particular person. Once you have it double tap and the job is done! I hope this is clear and that it helps you. iTunes bug fix update
Hi, Yesterday there was a new update to iTunes 11. It claims to fix the problem of some downloaded music not showing up in your iTunes library. I wasn't having the problem so don't know for sure if it fixes it, but for anyone having it, the update is worth a try. I haven't noticed any differences between its performance and the previous version, so I don't think updating will cause problems. Hi Shirley, Iheart radio is workable, it just takes a little bit. I use it pretty much daily or at the very least weekly. In order to get a list of stations live radions tations, slide your finger to the bottom right of the screen so it takes you to the bottom of the screen and wipe left until you come across Find. With it refreshing a lot at the beginning it does make it a little tough at first but once you double tap find, you can then see cities, local radio, and all your genres Pick a genre or city, or your local radio, and then you're presented with a list. You can then find what you're looking for there. You can also create stations doing the same thing about going to the bottom, lick create and you see a perfect for, Button, and then a search field. This search field is where yout ype your artist or song name, and slide down to search. Click that and you see your stations listed but they don't seem to show the name, but the first list play button inactive you see is most likely the right station. If it's not and you end up with a custom station you don't want, you can go to stations tab, at the bottom and that shows the stations you've saved, or created. Find the one you want to get rid of, hold your finger on it for a sec, and slide to the left. Once you do that you see a confirm deletion for such and such station and double tap that and you're done. I have to say I totally agree. There are only a few things I would like to see added. 1. A way to read through the text by character, or word using VO. 2. Support for iCloud so that the library and reading position could be maintained across multiple devices. 3. Support for AirPlay. I use AirPlay a lot to listen wirelessly via my Apple TV. Not sure if the developer still monitors this list, but he has in the past and has been very responsive. A Fleksy orientation question
Hello Cher, Fleksy supports both orientations. Here are some tips on how to type in Landscape: 1. If your iPhone is locked in portrait, unlock it, start Fleksy and just flip your phone landscape. Fleksy will follow along. The keyboard will populate the bottom half of the screen and span the whole width. 2. If you iPhone is locked in portrait and you want to keep it that way, but you still want to type in landscape with Fleksy: Head to the Settings app and find Fleksy on the list. Choose the Lock Orientation option and select Landscape Left or Landscape Right, according to your preference(Right or Left refer to were the home button will be after the lock takes place). Press the home button to exit the Settings and press the home button twice to bring up the App Switcher. Find Fleksy and force quit it. Dismiss the App Switcher and open Fleksy from your home screen. Fleksy will be in Landscape, with the home button being to the right or left, according to your choice before. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes. You can also save them to your camera role and transfer them to your computer if you want. Useful app at least for me. Hi, I'm having good luck with the Access Note app linked through dropbox. For example I update a recipe folder inside the app's DB folder and it reads and updates fine in both directions. ebook readers where the page scrolls automatically?
Hi all, I am introducing the IPod to a former braille note user and while she is starting to get the hang of IBooks, she misses the fact that her book would scroll automatically. Is there an ebook reader that presents the book in such a way? I know digital editions and itext express on the mack both read this way. It would be convenient if I could find one like this for IOS. In fact, I've never quite gotten used to turning the page either, especially considering how small the screen is and how little text fits on a page. There was talk of someone working on an app but I have not heard anything about it lately. As for regular GPS, remember, your device is receiving radio signals from satellites hundreds of miles overhead. If your device cannot see the satellites there is no signal, and therefore, no GPS. Public Radio App
I am referring to the app called Public Radio, not the NPR News Now app recently discussed here. I recently updated the Public Radio app and now I can't seem to figure it out. I used to have it set up so that it would automatically default to my favorite station. Now all I can get it to do is say page 1 of 4 and I don't know what to do with it. Does anyone know? They do send you an email, but once you register and choose facebook or twitter, then you can go look at the books, I chose twitter; I don't know if you absolutely have to do that or not but I got the impression you do, then you can continue to look at the books; but they do send you a confirm email too. You then get an email a day telling you about their deals. The Weather Bug app
I like the weatherbug app. It is accessible and you can have it as detailed or as sparse as you like. In the past, this app for computers has had accessibility issues. I have written the developers who have stated that many blind users have requested greater accessibility in the weatherbug app. The last few updates have all been accessible.
