products with similar names and while most of them are not accessible I

I don't think you can do that. If you open MBraille first, you can
enter dot commands to access parts of Blindsquare (see the manual for
details). You cannot, to my knowledge, use MBraille for text entry
directly inside Blindsquare though, you have to start in MBraille and
use its commands to activate Blindsquare.

This is a To Do list app that I have found to be very accessible. However, I am 
having one problem. It has a feature which allows you to put your to do list in 
your drop box. When ever I try to do this it says "error file cannot be 
loaded". Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

I think you have to have the paid version of Voice Dream Reader to access
Bookshare books.

If you get the paid version, you will go into settings in the Voice Dream

That did the trick. Initially, I couldn't activate Synanon on page 4. But when 
I pretended, to want to create an account, and then backtracked and tried to 
sign in again it worked just fine.t

Wow, all that for $140.  You could buy two Healthsmart talking blood 
pressure monitors for that price which read blood pressure, heart rate, keep 
a log of the last sixty readings for two different people, and average the 
last three readings for that price.

add on item but then there goes the portable part.  People with health issues

We have the VIP 1,000 from TalkingThermostats.com and have had it for 5 or 6 
years.  They have newer models but the instructions it comes with make it 
easy to install.  My wife who is sighted installed ours with no problems. 
The furnace wires are all color coded and you pretty much match the red wire 
on the talking thermostat with the red wire coming out of the hole in the 
wall etc.  Once a year around the first of January I swap out the 4 double 
A. batteries with new ones, put the VIP 1000 back on the wall and it's done 
for another ear.

I use the Talking Thermostat from VIP Solutions.  They are
programmable--everything talks.  (504) 733-5888.

They have a couple different models, one is for two-stage HVAC systems and
another is for heat pumps.

Latest version of dropbox for iPhone, is it working?

Hi, I've avoided updating dropbox for the last month or so because I heard that 
it was not very usable. I  use dropbox on a very regular basis for my work, and 
so cannot afford the iPhone version to be inaccessible. There have now been to 
you update since that first one, before I click update, I wanted to ask what 
people thought. Is it now working fine? Or are they still issues with it?

There are many talking blood pressure machines on the market.  Taking one's 
blood pressure is automated.  Simply stick either arm in the sleeve, pull it 
taught, take the remaining part and wrap it around your arm.  Then, press a 
button.  The machine will inflate, take your blood pressure and then deflate.  
Then it will report your blood pressure and usually pulse.  Some of the better 
ones also keep a log of your blood pressure and even time/date stamp the 
results so you can show it to your care giver.  These machines can run from 10 
dollars or so on up.  In general, the more the machine can do, the more you'll 
pay for it.

You can Google "Talking Blood Pressure Machine" or visit your local drug store. 
 The chain stores very often carry them.  You may a bit more because they are 
retail but the advantage is, you can take it home with you right there and 
then.  Any kind of device that would offer a read out via a smart phone 
probably would be much more expensive than a stand alone talking blood pressure 
machine.  Many older Americans and the list keeps growing just want something 
that will measure their blood pressure and report the  with out costing them an 
arm and a leg and is easy to use.  In my case, my cardiologist wants me to 
bring in my BP machine once every year so he can see how close mine is to what 
he uses.  The talking blood pressure machines today are very accurate so have 
no fear over buying a 10 or 15 dollar machine.  You'll also need several double 
A. batteries.  Average is 4 of them.  They generally last 6 months or longer so 
you won't go broke buying batteries.  The power supply is generally sold as an 
add on item but then there goes the portable part.  People with health issues 
often take their BP Machine with them when traveling etc.

Some people have said that iTunes Radio does not shuffle songs
appropriately, like hearing a pop song when listening to classical
music. I haven't had these problems though. There are a few times when
the same song that I just said I didn't like, then comes up next in
the shuffle, but again this has not happened very often to me. I like
that when you go into the settings for a particular station, you can
opt to share that station with your social networks. I also like how
you can adjust what you hear on each station, such as between hits,
variety, and discoverable.

I use iTunes Radio and Pandora. I like Pandora because I can also access 
it on my systems running Ubuntu, and even though they're both accessible 
on the iPhone, I find that iTunes Radio has a cleaner and easier to use 
interface. Plus it's integrated nicely into the lock screen and the 
Control Panel. They're both free, so it would be easy to try them out 
and then upgrade to a paid option to get things like fewer commercials, 
higher quality and cloud storage.

Hi, well, I found out things about this read to go app I didn't know 
thanks to Tim, not only that though but even though I had my audio 
turned off in settings, when I turned it back on again, it still had 
the place I was reading in Braille, is that cool or what?

I’m getting this message after updating. I’ve tried rebooting my iPod, turning 
WiFi off and back on, and restarting the app. Nothing doing. any ideas?

Pandora without Table Index Now

That may be the reason. Try contacting iTunes Support, they may help you 
retrieve your previous purchase. Call (800) 
692-7753<1%20%28800%29%20692-7753>and ask them to transfer you to the iTunes 
Store department. Unfortunately 
we do not have access to distribute the in-app purchases, but they may be 
able to assist you in restoring your purchase.

I only use one streaming app. It's called accuradio. I love it. The app is
accessible, no problems with it so far, and the web site is easy to use as
well, when I want to listen to it on my computer.

The Braille hot keys for Bard are in the help file. Off the top of my head, 
there’s r to start reading where you left off, m to change the navigation 
increments, n to navigate, and s to search.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to be dependent on a thermostat that's tied to the 
iPhone only.


I use the Talking Thermostat from VIP Solutions.  They are 
programmable--everything talks.  (504) 733-5888.


They have a couple different models, one is for two-stage HVAC systems and 
another is for heat pumps.

Reggie,

Search the archives for "Radio Thermostat". I have 1 of these at home and 2
of them at my retail store and they work great. There are a few others on
the list as well who use them. You can also go to www.RadioThermostat.com.
You can buy them there for $139, but I believe somebody said you can often
pick them up at Home Depot for $99. You will need a professional installer
to install it and you will need sighted help for the initial setup. At one
point there is a 5-digit code displayed on the thermostat's screen which you
will have to enter on your phone. Probably easiest if you set it up when the
installer is still there. As part of the setup you also have to enter your
WiFi password.
Once the thermostat is successfully connected it goes to a screen where you
can program a schedule. You can skip this and turn "Hold" on and this way
you can just control it manually. I do that at home, at my store I do have a
schedule setup since we are open from 9 AM to 6 PM so in the winter when we
need to heat it is set to go to 15 Celsius (59 F) at 5:30 PM since of course
it's still warm for the last half hour, then at 8:30 AM it is set to go to
20 Celsius (68 F) and maintain that until 5:30 PM. From 5:30 PM Saturday
until 8:30 Monday it stays at the lower temperature as we are not open
onSundays.
The schedule is useful if you have indeed a regular schedule, if not it's
easier to control it manually and even if you leave the house and remember
half an hour later you can always just open the app and set it to whatever
you want as long as you are connected to the internet via cell data or WiFi
you can control the thermostat from anywhere in the world.
In my opinion this is the way to go.

moving radio stations in radium

How do you move stations around using VoiceOver. In the app description, it
says you can drag and drop stations, but I can't figure out how to make this
happen.

Do you have the bard mobile app? If so, you can put your braille books in that 
app instead of in the bookshare app. It provides a more fluid and easier way of 
reading braille books. Go into bookshare in safari, find the book you want, 
make sure it is set to braille and tap the download button. This will bring up 
an open with menu. Select open with bard mobile and it will open the app with 
the book under braille books. Go there and select the book and start reading. 
There are braille hot keys, too. Does anyone have a list of these?

 Ok Lelia, here's what you need to do. I read by section lot to minimize that. 
Go into your settings in Read2Go. Go to visual setting. There in those settings 
is a page slider, turn that off. Then, down the screen is show by page or show 
by section. Make sure show by section is checked. You should be good to go from 
there. If someone else wants to help me make that a little clearer feel free 
too, I don't have my read2go open and in front of me at the moment but that's

Streaming Music Services

Can anyone compare the various services available the major ones, anyway, in
terms of accessibility first and then perhaps any pros or cons of each. I
guess for purposes of this list, I am mostly asking about accessibility. One
big question would be is there any difference in level of access for one
service's free version compared to the paid; maybe they use different apps
or introduce elements that effect access.

I am just considering trying out something and then subscribing. So, I am
completely ignorant, other than familiarity by mention.
