To turn on notification so you know when a facebook page gos live, go to the
facebook page that you are following. Next choose go to more. Next choose
following. After choosing more, make sure that the get notifications setting
is turned on. If you need to change notifications settings for that specific
page, go to edit notifications settings under following, and then choose either
standard or highlights. When a notification from your church arrives
indicating that they are live, you can go to the notifications tab and then
double tap on the notification. After double tapping on the notification, the
live video should start.

Are there any guides on how to use FB Live? My church is doing this with our
services and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do what needs to be
done to view the live feed.

Is there a separate FB Live app?

I am using iPhone 7 with IOS 13.5.1 and Windows 10 on my PC.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Getting notifications from Facebook about Facebook live mentions?

2017-01-31 Thread Lelia Struve
Hi everyone, first of all I'd like to say thank you for all the help that you
have given me with my questions, secondly, I wonder if there is a way to get
notifications when somebody is doing a Facebook live mentioned? For example,
let's just say I liked Joel Rosenberg's page, and I know he is going to do a
live mention or I don't know if he's going to either way, is there a way to get
notified when they're doing a live mention like you can with Periscope? Thanks.

RE: Facebook live

2016-07-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Paula,

Facebook Live is not an app, it's a new service or feature offered by Facebook
and you access it via the Facebook app. It allows you to broadcast live and in
real time. You need a very good connection, either WiFi or 4G according to
Facebook. If the signal is not good enough the Facebook Live button in the
Facebook app will be greyed out. If it is available and you activate it then
you are broadcasting and I believe anybody can watch it; possibly it will let
you select if you want to broadcast to the public or maybe only to friends.

Apparently it's quickly becoming the preferred way to broadcast shootings in
the US so the whole world can see how wonderful it is when everybody is packing
heat.

Regards,
Sieghard

RE: Facebook live

2016-07-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hello Jerry,

Just because something doesn't get fixed in what you think is a timely fashion
doesn't mean that they don't listen or take it seriously. I also have reported
issues to various companies where some were small bugs like maybe just some
better labels and others were bigger issues and version after version would
come out and the problem persists until one day it gets fixed. One good example
is Sonos. I bought my first Sonos multi-room music hardware in 2009 and while
it was possible to use it, the experience was not exactly a good one. Even the
most important buttons like Play/Pause weren't labelled and for a couple of
years I hounded them and nothing was done. Then one day suddenly I received a
reply that Sonos was interested in accessibility and they were looking for beta
testers. I of course agreed and ever since (at least for the last 4 years now)
their commitment to accessibility has been fantastic. Some people also say of
Apple that their accessibility team does nothing because something somebody
reported wasn't addressed. However, bugs are constantly fixed and with every
new major release some new features are introduced some of which are pretty
major improvements. I can only repeat that reporting issues is important even
if there is not always instant gratification or even results after a longer
period of time. It is one thing to deal with a developer like Winston from
Voice Dream Reader/Writer who is more or less a one-man show and who can
prioritize and implement things much more quickly and efficiently if he thinks
an issue needs to be resolved, but companies like Facebook, Apple, Microsoft or
Google are huge organisations with tens of thousands of employees all over the
world and requests like you describe get documented and entered in some
database by people who most likely have nothing at all to do with the
implementation and the more something is reported the more I am sure it climbs
up the ladder of priority which of course doesn't mean that not many months may
pass before an actual developer is asked to look at it and fix it. Then that
takes more time and after its done it needs to be rolled out in a release, most
likely after more time is spent testing and so on.

Regards,
Sieghard

Please don't hope, don't tell us but tell facebook about the problem.

Hello folks. I have a question for you. I like to use the Facebook live for
videos and stuff. However, due to the latest three updates I am running into
problems with reading the comments on there. Does anyone happen to have the
Facebook 50.0.IPA file? I really need it because that was the last version
that I had that I could use the Facebook live on and now I've upgraded 10
and none of my backups are usable anymore since 9.32 so even if I did try to
downgrade it wouldn't matter. It will not let me go back to a previous
version of Facebook. Most of my backups are also on iCloud. So that's why
i'm needing this file if anyone has it. Either 51 or 50. I have also written
to Facebook accessibility about this and no one is doing anything to fix it.
Whenever you use Facebook live with the new update all you get is the words
profile picture attached to an image and you cannot click the image. Next to
it as a button which allows you to like the comment but there isn't any
comment that I'm even seen just a profile picture. So for some reason
voiceover is not reading the comments anymore. But on Facebook 50 and below,
it did. Thank you all. Jerry Mader

problems with reading the comments on there.
Jerry Mader

Hi Everyone:
Thanks for all the responses.
Periscope is a live streaming app. You can find it in the app store.
I have found tons and tons of live streams. I mainly watch individuals
just chatting or individuals attending sporting events or concerts. It
is an app where you can broadcast what you are doing. People can watch
and give you comments and hearts. I love Periscope because I can put
on a broadcast and even though I am in my house I feel like I am with
the person and not alone in my house.
Lots of news sources periscope such as BBC, Steve Harvey, Good morning
America, the Today show, TMZ used to...just search for your favorite
broadcaster or newscaster or news source and I am sure they are on
there.
It's a really awesome app!
As for Facebook Live, I will have to just keep waiting and see when
the new features roll out to me.

Hi Everyone:
I love watching live streams and have been a huge fan of the Periscope
app since I discovered it last year.
Back on April 6, Facebook held a newsconference and put out a press
release saying they were going to be rolling out all kinds of new
features for Facebook Live.
I was so excited about the new features. Apparently you will get
alerted when people go live. There will be a new live tab where you
can explore current live streams that are going on across the world.
You can go live in groups and events so your live broadcast can be

I was so so so excited. I love Periscope so I thought awesome with the
new live features I can watch all kinds of live streams.
This was back on April 6.
I still haven't gotten these new features yet.
I see no live tab. I don't get any alerts when people go live.
Does anyone have this new feature yet? How did you know when you got
it? Where is the new live tab located?
Is Facebook still rolling this out?
Since the April 6 announcement, there have been two updates to the
Facebook app and I have updated both times hoping the new update will
contain the new live features.
Anyone know what is going on? For those of you who have these new
features how did you know when you got them?
Sorry if this message seems strange. I was just so excited about these
new live features and I haven't gotten them. I also keep seeing how
tons of people are live streaming with these new features and I feel
like I am missing out!
Thanks,

I love watching live streams and have been a huge fan of the Periscope
app since I discovered it last year.
Back on April 6, Facebook held a newsconference and put out a press

features for Facebook Live.
I was so excited about the new features. Apparently you will get

can explore current live streams that are going on across the world.
You can go live in groups and events so your live broadcast can be
seen by people in a certain group or event. You can invite friends to

I was so so so excited. I love Periscope so I thought awesome with the
new live features I can watch all kinds of live streams.

Hi Jerry,
When I broadcast, I just usually ask someone which camera I'm using, or I
just say to whoever may be watching, as you can tell I'm blind, and my
videography skills aren't the best, so just listen, that's what I do. 

I am wondering how accessible Facebook life will be for us: I tried something
called Livestream, which is built on the same premise is what I gather Facebook
live will be; I could play streams, but had great difficulty starting and
stopping a broadcast. I think somehow that live stream is for professionals
anyway, since I didn't see anything from individuals.

As for Periscope: don't give up. I get streams from good morning America,
lately Steve Harvey, BBC outside source, and from more local sources. Put TV
channel listings, or correspondence names in the search place, and see what you

Re: Facebook Live?

2016-05-04 Thread Jerry Mader
I stopped using Facebook live because I can't figure out which camera I'm
streaming too. When you press the camera button all that it says is rotate, it
doesn't say what camera they're putting the rotation too. So I don't know
whether or not I'm on the front camera or on the back camera and I feel kind of
foolish whenever I'm trying to stream not knowing what camera I'm on. Therefore
I have stopped using them until they fix that. How do the rest of you deal with
knowing what camera You are using when using Facebook live? I sure can't tell
so I don't go on there and use it. But any tips would be very helpful until
they fix the problem. I hate asking my viewers what camera I'm on that kind of
feels kind of silly no one else has to ask that question being cited. Thanks.

Re: Facebook Live?

2016-05-04 Thread Shane Clark82
Hi Kerri,
With Facebook live, I also do not have a live tab, but whenever someone in
my friends list goes live, I get a notification, which says for example,
John is now live, or John was live 30 minutes ago.
Could you also explain how Periscope works? I downloaded it a while back,
but after taking a quick look at it, I deleted it, and I don't really
remember how to use it, or what all you can do with it. I assume that it's
similar to the Facebook live?
Thanks, Shane.

Hi Kerri and others,

Maybe somebody can enlighten me with respect to Periscope, but I downloaded the
app a week or two ago and checked it out, but all I could find were weird
streams of people sitting in a bar, preaching fire and brimstone or doing
whatever, certainly nothing interesting from maybe official news sources which
I might want to watch/waste my time on. Am I not seeing where to find such
official content or is Periscope just a bunch of regular people who sometimes
just want to stream what they are doing so others can watch it?

Subject: Facebook Live?

Hi Everyone:
I love watching live streams and have been a huge fan of the Periscope
app since I discovered it last year.
Back on April 6, Facebook held a newsconference and put out a press
release saying they were going to be rolling out all kinds of new
features for Facebook Live.
I was so excited about the new features. Apparently you will get
alerted when people go live. There will be a new live tab where you
can explore current live streams that are going on across the world.
You can go live in groups and events so your live broadcast can be
seen by people in a certain group or event. You can invite friends to
view your live broadcast.
Thanks,
Kerri
