I had a less-than-thrilling experience with this one. I live in a place

others--yet when I search for a type of restaurant such as Italian, Steak,
bbq, nothing shows up within 40 miles. grin I also had problems
correcting my address and eventually gave up.

Greetings,

Thank you for your continued support and feedback. The fourth version of
our All Access Taking Menus More app has just been approved by Apple, and
the app has only been out exactly one month!

This version lets you type all or part of a restaurant's name when
searching. So you can type S U B W for example and have subway restaurants
listed.

Here's a link to the app:

Keep sending your feedback, using the feedback button in the app, and we
appreciate your reviews on the iTunes app store. Your help makes the app
better and lets others know about it.

RE: All Access update is out - search by typing part of a restaurant's name

2013-06-30 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Larry,

I find this is true in general for Points of Interest in GPS applications as
well. Unfortunately there is nothing much Todd from All Access can do since
his app uses the information from a service called Locu.com so if a
restaurant hasn't registered with Locu.com or fails to take their
information off if they close down then then this is what happens. I think
that in time this will get better and better as restaurant owners realize
that registering with services like Locu.com is of benenfit. Locu.com also
provides information to apps like Open Table, Trip Advisor, Yelp and so on
and it makes sense that there is a service like this where everybody else
gets their information since no restaurant owner can possibly keep up with
all the apps out there and register separately with them. We are after all
still in the infancy stage of mobile computing and I bet in 6 or 8 or 10
years we all look back to 2013 and scratch our heads wondering how far
things have come just as we do now when we think about computers, computing
power and the internet in general. In the meantime apps like All Access may
not offer a Wow experience every time you want to go to a restaurant, but
every time you maybe make a restaurant owner aware of something like
Locu.com and he or she decides to post their menu you help to improve the
app.

Regards,

Sieghard

Thanks. We are planning to add a button that will let you report 'stale'
data but for now, please use the Feedback button on the home screen of the
app, and try to be specific (i.e. include your location, the restaurant
name, etc.)

We are reliant upon the Locu.com database, which is also providing data to
Yelp and GoDaddy.com, so we expect it will get better.

Restaurants can also add their info for free, by visiting www.Locu.com or
contacting us, so please encourage the ones you like to do so.

Re: All Access update is out - search by typing part of a restaurant's name

2013-06-30 Thread Todd Bernhard
Gary,

Try searching for 'All' or searching by name. Sometimes those restaurants
may not be categorized correctly in the Locu.com database. They might be
under American not Steak. Or not classified as a restaurant even. It's
out of our hands. I've asked Locu and they may have a solution soon. But
for now, try ALL or name search. There are over one million menus in the
database so you should be able to find quite a few near you.

Re: All Access update is out - search by typing part of a restaurant's name

2013-06-29 Thread Gary Petraccaro
I had a less-than-thrilling experience with this one. I live in a place where
there are a lot of chains represented, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, others--yet
when I search for a type of restaurant such as Italian, Steak, bbq, nothing
shows up within 40 miles. grin I also had problems correcting my address
and eventually gave up.

RE: All access update.

2013-06-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Bob,

Paul already answered your question, but I thought I add a few tips which
will make it easier for you to find information without having to wait for
an answer on the list. As you probably noticed the Viphone list has a very
high volume of messages and if every new member asked over and over again
what a certain app is or does especially if it has been discussed before,
that volume would go up even more. Please don't think I am trying to
discourage you to not ask questions, but as I said, here are a few tips
which help you in getting the information faster and often with more
details:

First, if an app is mentioned and Jennifer included the entire name All
Access Talking Menus it is relatiovely easy to type that into the search
field of the App Store app or, and I find this often even easier, just
google it. If you add on iTunes to your google search, just about every
time your first search result is the link to the app you are looking for on
the app store and then you can easily read the app description, see what's
new and what the cost is. For example: All Access Talking menus on iTunes
will bring up the app store link as the first search result.

Another way to look up information is to follow the link at the bottom of
each post to the list archives. Here you have a single search field and if
you type in an app name or, for example, bluetooth keyboards you are
likely to find lots of posts which you can review.

Lastly, the website www.applevis.com is a great resource. There are many app
reviews, podcasts and How-To tutorials and just as you can do a google
search for an app name followed by on iTunes, you can also add on
Applevis and you most likely find links which point you straight to the
relevant article on applevis.com.

Welcome and have fun with your iPhone or whatever iDevice you may have.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the kind words.  I checked the Locu.com database, and the Olive
Garden is indeed there, and listed as Italian, but for some reason, they are
listed not as a restaurant but under the category active life

In the next update, there is a button for ALL that will include all businesses,
so then Olive Garden should show up.

I'll try to get feedback to the Locu folks to clean up the database.

Thanks and take care.

RE: All Access update is out

2013-06-08 Thread Rose Combs
The web site seemed only partially usable, I tried to check out stuff
because we were taking friends there last week, looked to me like part of
the menu were present, not the whole thing. I got better results with Where
To, an app that costs a small amount, but when I got there with friends
still had to have the menu read to be sure the dish my mouth was watering
for was still there. I did not feel brave enough to do OCR.

  Hi Alan,

Thanks for the kind words. I checked the Locu.com database, and the Olive
Garden is indeed there, and listed as Italian, but for some reason, they are
listed not as a restaurant but under the category active life

In the next update, there is a button for ALL that will include all
businesses, so then Olive Garden should show up.

I'll try to get feedback to the Locu folks to clean up the database.

  Thanks and take care.

Hi Sieghard, and everyone. Thanks for announcing the update and saving me
the trouble! I was going to do so this morning, so you're like my own public
 relations firm!

Okay, Sieghard may be a special case and literally only have one restaurant
nearby, at least according to our database. Remember, the old app showed
businesses like spas, salons, etc., so now there are going to be less
results. When there is exactly one match, it doesn't bother showing a list,
but takes you directly to the info for that one business. From our emails, I
know you live in a somewhat rural area in Canada. You can change your
location using the Settings button from within the Help screen. We plan to
make that Settings button a more prominent button on the opening screen.

If you change your location to Vancouver for example, you might get to
experience what the app has to offer in a more populated city. In fact, I
just pretended to be in your city, and experienced what you did, then changed
it to Vancouver and got a lot more results.

Those hidden buttons are just redundant. People were complaining because
they were text fields that displayed the name of the meal, etc., but that
info is also provided with the photo button. Folks thought they could type
in them, because they are text fields, but they were flagged as not editable.
So we have hidden them from voiceover. But now it appears you could get a
unlabeled button notice when you try to identify it. I am open to
suggestions as to which direction to go. Perhaps we do not hide them but
specifically say this is a non editable descriptor?

I try to monitor this group, but the most reliable way to provide specific
feedback to our team is using the feedback button on the home screenof
 the app.

I will be at the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired today in
Rochester, NY getting first hand feedback, and plan to submit an update
tonight based on that and your emails. Thanks!

Thank you for your patience. I think you can tell we are trying to
incorporate all your great feedback as quickly as possible, within the
 limitations of Apple's approval process.

Also, next week my team and I are presenting the app to potential investors
in New York City. With such an investment, we can keep enhancing the app,
adding restaurants, porting it to Android, and take it to the next level.
It's a free app and restaurants can be listed for free, so we need your
support. Your positive reviews will go a long way to help. There is a
review button on the front page of the app so thank you in advance.

saving me the trouble! I was going to do so this morning, so you're like my
own public relations firm!

Okay, Sieghard may be a special case and literally only have one
restaurant nearby, at least according to our database. Remember, the old app
showed businesses like spas, salons, etc., so now there are going to be less
results. When there is exactly one match, it doesn't bother showing a list,
but takes you directly to the info for that one business. From our emails,
I know you live in a somewhat rural area in Canada. You can change your
location using the Settings button from within the Help screen. We plan to
make that Settings button a more prominent button on the opening screen.

If you change your location to Vancouver for example, you might get to
experience what the app has to offer in a more populated city. In fact, I
just pretended to be in your city, and experienced what you did, then
changed it to Vancouver and got a lot more results.

Those hidden buttons are just redundant. People were complaining
because they were text fields that displayed the name of the meal, etc., but
that info is also provided with the photo button. Folks thought they could
type in them, because they are text fields, but they were flagged as not
editable. So we have hidden them from voiceover. But now it appears you
could get a unlabeled button notice when you try to identify it. I am open
to suggestions as to which direction to go. Perhaps we do not hide them but
specifically say this is a non editable descriptor?

I try to monitor this group, but the most reliable way to provide
specific feedback to our team is using the feedback button on the home
screen of the app.

I will be at the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired today
in Rochester, NY getting first hand feedback, and plan to submit an update
tonight based on that and your emails. Thanks!

Thank you for your patience. I think you can tell we are trying to
incorporate all your great feedback as quickly as possible, within the
limitations of Apple's approval process.

Also, next week my team and I are presenting the app to potential
investors in New York City. With such an investment, we can keep enhancing
the app, adding restaurants, porting it to Android, and take it to the next
level. It's a free app and restaurants can be listed for free, so we need
your support. Your positive reviews will go a long way to help. There is a
review button on the front page of the app so thank you in advance.

Yes, yes, to all of this. I was just coming on here to ask how to find
out what those unlabeled buttons are. I can only assume they have to do
with adding something to an order, but considering those buttons are
available elsewhere within individual descriptions as well as in every
menu I've looked at since the update, some clarification would be helpful
since activating them doesn't seem to make anything happen.

I do like what I've seen so far, though.

Subject: All Access update is out

Hello List,

Just noticed the the All Access Talking Menu update is out. The app does
seem a bit more streamlined and interestingly enough when I went to
Nearby
it went straight into the listing for a restaurant here called
Alpenhorn,
I assume maybe because it's the first alphabetically. This restaurant
didn't

even show up before in the app, now it is there and has the Menu with
descriptions and pricing. very nice.

However, maybe Todd can answer this, after each menu category as well as
after each dish within the categories there are anywhere from 1 to 3
unlabelled buttons which don't seem to do anything, I assume maybe they
are

pictures and, if so, couldn't they be hidden to make swiping through the
dishes a better experience?

Also, it would be nice if that z-gesture for activating the back button
could be implemented. I find it more intuitive and faster than to find
the

back button at the top left each time and use it a lot in apps where it
works.

Lastly, how do I get back to the listing of restaurants? I am placed
straight into the listing for Alpenhorn when I tap on Nearby. I am on
the

main screen with the following layout:

Top Row:

Back button at the top left

Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar button in the middle

Help button at the top right

Under Back is the Menu button and it is the first swipe right from
Help.

Under Help is the Map button and it is next if you swipe right again
after

menu.

Underneath Menu (on the left side) is Phone and it comes after Map if you
continue swiping.

Under Map (on the right side) is a Web, button, once again, it's another
swipe right after phone.

Last is the Weather button and I seem to only get to it by swiping right
one
more time from Web, if I move my finger around the screen to explore I
can

only find Menu and Phone on the left and Map and Web on the right.

OK, so I just did a 3-finger swipe up and Voiceover said Page 2 of 3
and
now the Weather button was there right under Back which means the other
4

buttons on page 1 were now off the screen. There is a page 3 of 3, but it
still only has Weather.

All in all, it's much easier and faster to swipe to the button you want
since there are only 5 and, I guess in cases where there is no menu,
there

would only be Map, Phone, Web and Weather.

If I double tap on Back from the main screen of the Alpenhorn Bistro
and
Bar I get Back at the top left, Results in the middle and Help at
the

top right. However, the rest of the screen is blank, i.e. Voiceover says
Empty List which is strange since it did go straight into the one
restaurant and in the last app there were quite a few listings for my
town.

A 3-finger swipe down says Refreshing Content, but still nothing shows
up

in the list.

Across the bottom I see 4 categories, Select All, Select American,
Select Bakery and Select Bar/Pub/Brewery.

A 3-finger swipe from right to left tells me it is now on page 2 of 7 and
4

new categories show up:

Select Bbq, Select Select Chinese, Select Coffee/Tea and Select
Deli/Sandwiches.

If I double tap on Select All it goes right back into Alpenhorn Bistro
and

Bar and I seem to be unable to see or select any other restaurants.

In fact, when I first double tap on Nearby on the main screen of the
app
and touch the screen in the middle it says Accessing All, but once
again,

the list is empty and it goes straight into Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar.

OK, Todd, how much is Sascha, the owner of the Alpenhorn paying you for
doing this *smile*.

There is also a Search for Business by Type button on the main screen,
but

it does the same thing, it goes straight into Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar.

It would be interesting to find out if others experience the same thing,
i.e. if it goes into an A listing for where they live with nothing else
on
the list. I know Todd monitors the list, so I look forward to any
comments

as well as reviews from other users.

Sieghard

I've been playing with this version, using voiceover, with gestures, and it's
working quite well if I say so myself.  I will post a message when the update

The app shows 25 matches. We could add a button for the next 25 but currently
it doesn't show more. The next version, which is waiting for Apple's approval,
makes it easier to search by cuisine so you can find 25 Chinese restaurants
near you, etc., so that might be plenty. It is also easier to change your
location so you can search the next town over etc.

Hi Todd,

It would be helpful to be able to expand one's search in the same town or city.
For example, I'm going to a restaurant in Albany, New York where I reside. It
doesn't show up in the 25 listings. I know what street it's on, so if I can
search by a specific street, I'd likely be able to locate the restaurant in
question. If one could search within a certain radius as is often the case
with GPS applications, that might be another way to attack this. Thanks for
your efforts and I look forward to the next update.

Thanks, Les.  The app lets you type in a street address as your origin, and the
default radius is 50 kilometers, which is over 30 miles, so that should cover
most searches.

Having said that, it probably wouldn't be too hard to add a button for the next

You need to get to the Settings screen. Within the app, after you've started a
search, touch the help button in the top right.  It will display help, and two
buttons. One is continue and the other is settings.  Touch settings and you can
change to a manually entered address instead of using GPS.

In the next version, there is a Settings button on the first screen.

Thanks!

Okay, let me explain how I am accessing restaurants currently. I choose Search

Search All Near You with the prompt, double tap to edit. When I double tap,
I am taken to the last restaurant in the list rather than to an edit field

 Hi Todd,

It would be helpful to be able to expand one's search in the same town or

Re: All Access update is out

2013-06-07 Thread Todd Bernhard
Les,

At the bottom of the list page is a horizontally scrolling menu that lets you
refine by cuisine (or choose All)

That is going away in the next version because it is becoming a source of
confusion.

Instead, when you initially choose Search Nearby, from the home screen, you
will be presented with dozens of choices of cuisines like American, Bakery,
Chinese, Coffee, Deli, etc., in alphabetical order.  Choose one of those (or
choose the All button) and then you will get your scrolling list.

I will let you know when Apple approves it.

Hello List,

Just noticed the the All Access Talking Menu update is out. The app does
seem a bit more streamlined and interestingly enough when I went to “Nearby” it
went straight into the listing for a restaurant here called “Alpenhorn”, I
assume maybe because it’s the first alphabetically. This restaurant didn’t even
show up before in the app, now it is there and has the Menu with descriptions
and pricing… very nice.

However, maybe Todd can answer this, after each menu category as well as
after each dish within the categories there are anywhere from 1 to 3 unlabelled
buttons which don’t seem to do anything, I assume maybe they are pictures and,
if so, couldn’t they be hidden to make swiping through the dishes a better
experience?

Also, it would be nice if that z-gesture for activating the back button
could be implemented. I find it more intuitive and faster than to find the back
button at the top left each time and use it a lot in apps where it works.

Lastly, how do I get back to the listing of restaurants? I am placed
straight into the listing for “Alpenhorn” when I tap on Nearby. I am on the
main screen with the following layout:

Top Row:
Back button at the top left
Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar button in the middle
Help button at the top right

Under Back is the Menu button and it is the first swipe right from “Help”.
Under Help is the Map button and it is next if you swipe right again after
menu.
Underneath Menu (on the left side) is Phone and it comes after Map if you
continue swiping.
Under Map (on the right side) is a Web, button, once again, it’s another
swipe right after phone.
Last is the Weather button and I seem to only get to it by swiping right
one more time from Web, if I move my finger around the screen to explore I can
only find Menu and Phone on the left and Map and Web on the right.

OK, so I just did a 3-finger swipe up and Voiceover said “Page 2 of 3” and
now the Weather button was there right under “Back” which means the other 4
buttons on page 1 were now off the screen. There is a page 3 of 3, but it still
only has Weather.

All in all, it’s much easier and faster to swipe to the button you want
since there are only 5 and, I guess in cases where there is no menu, there
would only be Map, Phone, Web and Weather.

If I double tap on “Back” from the main screen of the “Alpenhorn Bistro and
Bar” I get Back at the top left, “Results” in the middle and “Help” at the top
right. However, the rest of the screen is blank, i.e. Voiceover says “Empty
List” which is strange since it did go straight into the one restaurant and in
the last app there were quite a few listings for my town.

A 3-finger swipe down says “Refreshing Content”, but still nothing shows up
in the list.

Across the bottom I see 4 categories, “Select All”, “Select American”,
“Select Bakery” and Select Bar/Pub/Brewery”.
A 3-finger swipe from right to left tells me it is now on page 2 of 7 and 4
new categories show up:
Select Bbq, Select Select Chinese, Select Coffee/Tea and Select
Deli/Sandwiches.
If I double tap on “Select All” it goes right back into Alpenhorn Bistro
and Bar and I seem to be unable to see or select any other restaurants.
In fact, when I first double tap on “Nearby” on the main screen of the app
and touch the screen in the middle it says “Accessing All”, but once again, the
list is empty and it goes straight into Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar.
OK, Todd

Re: All Access update is out

2013-06-06 Thread Todd Bernhard
Hi Sieghard, and everyone. Thanks for announcing the update and saving me
the trouble! I was going to do so this morning, so you're like my own
public relations firm!

Okay, Sieghard may be a special case and literally only have one restaurant
nearby, at least according to our database. Remember, the old app showed
businesses like spas, salons, etc., so now there are going to be less
results. When there is exactly one match, it doesn't bother showing a
list, but takes you directly to the info for that one business. From our
emails, I know you live in a somewhat rural area in Canada. You can change
your location using the Settings button from within the Help screen. We
plan to make that Settings button a more prominent button on the opening
screen.

If you change your location to Vancouver for example, you might get to
experience what the app has to offer in a more populated city. In fact, I
just pretended to be in your city, and experienced what you did, then
changed it to Vancouver and got a lot more results.

Those hidden buttons are just redundant. People were complaining because
they were text fields that displayed the name of the meal, etc., but that
info is also provided with the photo button. Folks thought they could type
in them, because they are text fields, but they were flagged as not
editable. So we have hidden them from voiceover. But now it appears you
could get a unlabeled button notice when you try to identify it. I am open
to suggestions as to which direction to go. Perhaps we do not hide them
but specifically say this is a non editable descriptor?

I try to monitor this group, but the most reliable way to provide specific
feedback to our team is using the feedback button on the home screen of the
app.

2013-06-06 Thread Lisa belville
Yes, yes, to all of this. I was just coming on here to ask how to find out
what those unlabeled buttons are. I can only assume they have to do with
adding something to an order, but considering those buttons are available
elsewhere within individual descriptions as well as in every menu I've
looked at since the update, some clarification would be helpful since
activating them doesn't seem to make anything happen.

I find it more intuitive and faster than to find the
back button at the top left each time and use it a lot in apps where it
works.

Lastly, how do I get back to the listing of restaurants? I am placed
straight into the listing for Alpenhorn when I tap on Nearby. I am on
the

main screen with the following layout:

Top Row:

Back button at the top left

Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar button in the middle

Help button at the top right

Under Back is the Menu button and it is the first swipe right from Help.

Under Help is the Map button and it is next if you swipe right again after
menu.

Underneath Menu (on the left side) is Phone and it comes after Map if you
continue swiping.

Under Map (on the right side) is a Web, button, once again, it's another
swipe right after phone.

Last is the Weather button and I seem to only get to it by swiping right
one

more time from Web, if I move my finger around the screen to explore I can
only find Menu and Phone on the left and Map and Web on the right.

OK, so I just did a 3-finger swipe up and Voiceover said Page 2 of 3 and
now the Weather button was there right under Back which means the other
4

buttons on page 1 were now off the screen. There is a page 3 of 3, but it
still only has Weather.

All in all, it's much easier and faster to swipe to the button you want
since there are only 5 and, I guess in cases where there is no menu, there
would only be Map, Phone, Web and Weather.

If I double tap on Back from the main screen of the Alpenhorn Bistro
and

Bar I get Back at the top left, Results in the middle and Help at the

In fact, when I first double tap on Nearby on the main screen of the app
and touch the screen in the middle it says Accessing All, but once
again,

the list is empty and it goes straight into Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar.

OK, Todd, how much is Sascha, the owner of the Alpenhorn paying you for
doing this *smile*.

There is also a Search for Business by Type button on the main screen,
but

it does the same thing, it goes straight into Alpenhorn Bistro and Bar.

It would be interesting to find out if others experience the same thing,
i.e. if it goes into an A listing for where they live with nothing else
on

the list. I know Todd monitors the list, so I look forward to any comments
as well as reviews from other users.

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi, Todd. Wow, I love your prompt replies. grin

actually, in my case, I didn't try labeling the buttons, they just show up
between each product in sets of two. These are buttons I need to physically
flick past in order to move to the next product.

For example, there will be a button listing the name of a sandwich, and then

Hi Todd and Lisa,

Lisa, I can confirm what you see. I find the buttons in Paris as well. I also
have been able to access the back button pretty easily as I am accustomed to
Friday the back button on the upper left side of the screen. Overall, this is
greatly improved. I really look forward to using it. I use a nearby search and
found a number of restaurants in the Albany area. Thank you Todd for enhancing
this product so quickly

Lisa,

Thanks.  Yes, those mystery buttons display the text of the item.  So if you
had a sandwich called Peanut Butter And Jelly, there would be a big photo
button that would show a photo of that sandwich, and below it one, two, or
three text lines in a text view depending on the length of the sandwich name.
Those display the words Peanut, Butter, and Jelly.

The complaint before was that people thought they could type in those fields
since they contain text.  You cannot.  They are for display only.

I tagged them as hidden from voiceover, so when you explicitly touch them,
nothing happens.

However, it appears that if you are flicking, you still have to flick past them.

I plan to fix that next.  What is your suggestion?  Should I add them back so
they are not hidden, but have them announced as display only text field?
Thanks!

Re: All Access update is out

2013-06-06 Thread Lisa belville
Well, I'm obviously speaking for myself as a new user, so my ideas may not
be the same as others who have dealt with VO for a while and are more
comfortable.

My preference is for whatever is more efficient at conveying the information
or lack of info in this case. I'm used to unlabled buttons and strangely
uneditable fields in windows, and I know how to either move past those or
avoid them altogether. I'm still not 100% up to speed doing this with VO.
So I'd want an effective but brief description of the field/button that can
be either bypassed or dismissed without too many gestures.

I don't recall whether each of those unlabled buttons was originally it's
own individual field or if they were combined into one, but I'd personally
want to accomplish the task with a minimum of flicking or swiping.

Just me, though. You'll probably get a variety of answers.

  Todd,

One suggestion I would like to give is that each menu item/meal be set as a
heading. this would then enable users to flick down heading by heading or meal

This would enable users to bypass the unlabeled objects that are being

Hi Todd,

You might have to look into this since I'm not familiar with programming,
but I do know that another developer who I am beta testing for simply made
stuff that was not relevant for a blind user go away so Voiceover didn't see
it at all and skipped over it. I think this might be possible.

Thanks.  It's easy to detect if voiceover is running, and if so, not display

voiceover.  I'll keep at it.  Thanks!

Hi Todd,

You might have to look into this since I’m not familiar with programming, but I
do know that another developer who I am beta testing for simply made stuff that
was not relevant for a blind user go away so Voiceover didn’t see it at all and
skipped over it. I think this might be possible.

RE: All Access update is out

2013-06-06 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Mich,

You may have seen Todd's reply to my email since for me only 1 restaurant
comes up. Smithers, where I live here in northern BC has a similar
population, a bit larger with 6,000 people. If nothing shows up it simply
means none of the restaurants have added their menus to Locu.com so maybe
you can try and talk to the owners to see if they are willing to do so then
it should show up for you.

Re: All Access update is out

2013-06-06 Thread Todd Bernhard
Sieghard is right, but I've discovered a bit more info.  Many of those
restaurants are indeed already in the Locu database, but they simply haven't
been classified as to what type of cuisine, or in some cases, whether they are
a restaurant at all.  For example a hotel/lodge could have a restaurant.
That's why Sieghard saw several results previously and not so many now.

So, I am introducing a cuisine page before the search listings, so you can
narrow the results.  This was always possible but the existing app uses a small
horizontal scrolling bar at the bottom.  It is tricky to do a three finger
swipe on.  This method will be much easier with voiceover.

One of the buttons on this page will be for All businesses.  It will return all
restaurants, but also all spas, etc., that Locu knows about.  I think it is the
best compromise.  All results will be returned but you'll have the option to
narrow them as long as the database has that info.

In the meantime, it's worth asking favorite restaurants to register with Locu,
especially if they already have their info but just need to update the cuisine
type.  And it's free for restaurants to be listed!

Thanks everyone!  I'll submit an update tonight.

Hi Sieghard, and everyone. Thanks for announcing the update and saving me
the trouble! I was going to do so this morning, so you're like my own
public relations firm!

Perhaps we do not hide them but
specifically say this is a non editable descriptor?

I try to monitor this group, but the most reliable way to provide specific
feedback to our team is using the feedback button on the home screen of the
app.
