My husband and I was watching something and he turned on the audio feature and
when the next movie came on he had to go back in and turn it on again. For some
reason the changes were not staying.

Re: Disney Plus accessibility and described movies

2019-11-14 Thread Wayne Merritt
I was able to enable description after starting a movie. Have someone
hit the menu item within the player, and that will offer the option of
changing to English-audio descriptions. Once set, it will remain for
anything you watch that has description. It will also carry over to
any other devices or interfaces you use. For instance, if I enable it
on the computer in Google Chrome, I can then use the iOS app and enjoy
the same description without having to do anything.

Re: Disney Plus accessibility and described movies

2019-11-14 Thread Ed Worrell
No I don’t think so. The only way I can think to make it play all the time is
to go into settings, Accessibility and turn Audio description on. If the Disney
app uses the default iOS player it should activate the Described Audio the nthe
video starts playing. If the Disney player doesn’t utilize the default player
in iOS you have to start playing the video, pause the video and then double tap
on the video and navigate to the audio tab at the top of the screen and find
the option in that menu to activate it.

I hope this helps.

RE: Disney Plus accessibility and described movies

2019-11-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
We also signed up yesterday here in Canada and watched Lady and the Tramp last
night and it had audio descriptions. My wife turned it on so I can't speak too
much as to the accessibility, there is no Windows 10 app yet on the Microsoft
Store, just a web app.

Subject: Re: Disney Plus accessibility and described movies

After a bit more research, I've learned that around 200 movies are audio
described at launch, as well as the original shows they are creating for the
service, such as, "The World Accordign to Jeff Goldbloom." Setting the audio
description up is another story. I had to use Team Viewer on my computer with
Aira to set the option. The app is accessible, but there are spots where it has
some accessibility issues and other bugs, such as within the media player.
Anyway, once the audio description is enabled, it remains so on all devices
used to access the service. In other words, I set it with Aira's help on my
computer, and when I started watching the same show on my phone, I heard the
audio description. I read a comment on AppleVis on the Disney Plus app
directory entry that Disney has been made aware of the issues and are working
on fixes. There is a free 7 day trial before subscriptions start, so it is
worth checking out for fans of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Muppets, and
more.

Re: Disney Plus accessibility and described movies

2019-11-12 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
It is accessible on the iPhone. From what I have read there is about 200 titles
with audio description. However none of the TV series or original content is
audio described sadly.
