RE: Question about the aftershokz headphones.

2013-07-21 Thread Dionesque

Hello!

What's the exact name of the Bose Bluetooth headset many of you are talking
about here?? I became very curious! Please, give me the exact model name or
an Amazon link ect, thanks!
I'm considering buying the AfterShokz headset for in field use but would
also like something for music and stuff and Bose sounds like a good choice
since I've heard some of their headphones and they were usually very good.

Best regards,

Barbara

You mean on the headband close to the back of the head? Guess I need to
feel around there more.

I have noticed that the sound wil changed based on how I position my neck
and head. If I lean forward or back, the pressure on the headphones
increases, so the sound will change, not just getting louder, but there
seems to be more bass if I'm playing music. I realize this is objective,
and it doesn't interfere with call volume. These really are neat headphones
but everyone is going to have a different hearing experience based on how
their head and ears are designed.

Not yet, and I doubt if I will. The strap feels like a very short rubber
band that I think would make the head band to tight. I can't even figure
how they fit on, though I can feel two ridges on each wide part of the
strap
that probably correspond to the left and right side of the headband, so
it's

just a matter of affixing the strap to the headband or headphones and
stretching them.

No, you can use SIRI via the home button or via the call button on the left

There's a slight pause, then you hear the two tones indicating SIRI is

For me they evened out my hearing, true stereo which is the second reason I
considered them, the first was not having to have them inside my ears.
Music is not perfect, I will grant that but, I am hearing in stereo for the

Well, I didn't get them specifically for music. They sound Okay, but only
if I'm using them while just sitting waiting or not wanting good sound
quality. They do feel odd if I've got them turned up as they vibrate even
at low volume, and the higher volume increases the vibration on the sides of
my face that actually tickles and then gets really annoying after a while.

I can hear them just fine, but at first I did have to fiddle with the VO
volume, the headphone volume, and the volume switches on the phone to strike
a balance, though because they're all independent of each other.

I can hear the GPS and conversation around me, though I need to concentrate
more on each individual element just as I would when using and external
device.

They probably won't do well against the Bose, except for me, I only hear a
tiny bit in my left ear using the Bose, not the full sound I get using the
Aftershokz. I admit I did not expect the best results, but when I could

 Hi Lisa and others.

Now I have got my aftershokz bluetooth headset, and it is a great headset,
when you need to listen to a gps or taking a call while you are walking.

The only thing is to get them to fit on my little head, but ok it works.

I got a pair for my Mom who is very hard of hearing. She uses them to listen
to television. She loves them. She hasn't heard so clearly in a long while.

They work because they are bypassing the part of her ear that doesn't work
too well.

Thank you Aftershokz.

For me they evened out my hearing, true stereo which is the second reason I
considered them, the first was not having to have them inside my ears. Music
is not perfect, I will grant that but, I am hearing in stereo for the first
time in 23 years, since I had a 12-hour surgery to remove a glomus tumor or
an acoustic neuroma.

I can hear the GPS and conversation around me, though I need to concentrate
more on each individual element just as I would when using and external
device.

Hi. I have the AfterShokz Bluez, which is the Bluetooth version of
their

sports headphones with mic. You really can hear your surroundings
because the headphones fit just in front of your ear leaving the ear
uncovered. The headphones are attached to a band that fits over your
ears

and goes behind your head. They took a bit to get used to, but they're
actually quite comfortable and fit well even though they're a loose
fit.

The controls are quite simple. There's a answer/end call on the left
ear

that also allows you to use SIRI if you press and hold the button.
There's an identical button on the right ear that starts and pauses
music. The other functions are on the headband, so you'd need to reach
behind your head to access them

The aftershokz won't compare to the Bose. The reason that the aftershokz are
useful, is for keeping your ears free to listen in public, or for traffic
patterns. Also, the aftershokz can be used in a teaching, or conference
setting, as another pair of ears to hear a phone or PC without shutting out

RE: Question about the aftershokz headphones.

2013-07-18 Thread Paul and Paula Jordan
I am considering getting the after-shocks to use in an open office setting.
My computer is running JAWS, and my co-workers sit fairly close to me. Has
anyone noticed excess sound coming from the headphones that might disturb
others? It seems to me that that was mentioned sometime back as a possible
problem. Thanks.

God bless!

The aftershokz won't compare to the Bose. The reason that the aftershokz are
useful, is for keeping your ears free to listen in public, or for traffic
patterns. Also, the aftershokz can be used in a teaching, or conference
setting, as another pair of ears to hear a phone or PC without shutting out
the people around you.

Take care,

have these phones and they say they are great. One guy is suppose to be
stopping by my house here any day and we'll put them up against my Bose

I love them. I use the tension band because I guess i have a wierd shaped

with the volume buttons on the phone, or the volume control on the back of

Hi. I have the AfterShokz Bluez, which is the Bluetooth version of their

The controls are quite simple. There's a answer/end call on the left ear

I can hear the GPS and conversation around me, though I need to concentrate
more on each individual element just as I would when using and external
device.

What is that extra little 3.5 mil cable that comes with the wired

Also, what are those plastic strips for with the bluetooth headset?

I thought the plastic straps were stabilizers if you didn't like how the

Re: Question about the aftershokz headphones.

2013-07-17 Thread Lisa belville
Not yet, and I doubt if I will. The strap feels like a very short rubber
band that I think would make the head band to tight. I can't even figure
how they fit on, though I can feel two ridges on each wide part of the strap
that probably correspond to the left and right side of the headband, so it's
just a matter of affixing the strap to the headband or headphones and
stretching them.

I love them. I use the tension band because I guess i have a wierd shaped
head. I like the sound quality, and you can raise or lower the volume either
with the volume buttons on the phone, or the volume control on the back of
the head band.

I can't understand how folks seem to like them so much. I bought them
yesterday and tried them out, they have awful sound quality and don't
exactly sound like normal headphones. When you're somewhere where
there is a lot of traffic, you can't really hear the iPhone or GPS.

Hi Lisa and others.

Now I have got my aftershokz bluetooth headset, and it is a great headset,
when you need to listen to a gps or taking a call while you are walking.

The only thing is to get them to fit on my little head, but ok it works.

Cheers Annie.
Den Jul 13, 2013 kl. 12:06 AM skrev Lisa belville

It depends. The volume of the phone call and voice over is still an
issue

for me. I try locking the screen as soon as I make a call because VO
will

elapsed. I've turned off speech completely and have had good results
with

that.

People can understand me just fine, but for me, the reception seems to
get

distorted and can fade in and out, and this is with the phone in my
pocket.

The same thing happens if I'm listening to a streaming music station,
though. I'm not sure why as the phone is right next to me. I can start
walking while the phone is in my pocket and the music breaks up and comes

back, so I'm not sure if something is being blocked while the phone is in

my pocket or what.

There's also a slight delay from the time you issue a command like a
swipe

or double tap and the time the next app is located or opened. I know
some

of this is the Bluetooth, but it can get annoying, especially when using
both a Bluetooth headset and Keyboard. I'm a fast typist, so this
probably doesn't help, either.

Over all, I like this headset. Pairing was a breeze, I just turned it on

and then went into the Bluetooth portion of the iPhone settings and it
was

paired automatically. I can switch between off and standby or regular
headphones with no problems.

Re: Question about the aftershokz headphones.

2013-07-12 Thread Teresa Christian
Hi Annie,

I bought the blue tooth aftershokz with the in line mike and really
love them because I can use them with no cord going from my hands or
pocket to my head and when I am out and about walking or on a bus or a
train this is safer and way less annoying. There is a button on the
left ear piece to answer and hang up the phone. On the right ear piece
is a button to paws or play music so it makes it very easy to manage
things somewhat hands free.

I ware them under my hair so no one can tell I have them on. This is
great, however, when I talk on the phone, if I don't have the phone in
my hand, it looks like I am talking to myself, lol.

Hi. I have the AfterShokz Bluez, which is the Bluetooth version of their
sports headphones with mic. You really can hear your surroundings because
the headphones fit just in front of your ear leaving the ear uncovered.
The headphones are attached to a band that fits over your ears and goes
behind your head. They took a bit to get used to, but they're actually
quite comfortable and fit well even though they're a loose fit.

The controls are quite simple. There's a answer/end call on the left ear
that also allows you to use SIRI if you press and hold the button.
There's an identical button on the right ear that starts and pauses music.
The other functions are on the headband, so you'd need to reach behind
your head to access them. There's a micro USB port with a small, flimsy
swivel cover, the on/off switch that also doubles as the pairing switch,
 and a volume rocker switch.

I'm not sure about charging out of the US. Mine came with a USB cable
that I can connect to a PC or a wall charger. So far, I've just used my
wall charger, which is the same one I use for other USB devices. The
included cable seems fairly standard and would probably work with other
things with a micro USB port.

Just ask if you have more questions.

Re: Question about the aftershokz headphones.

2013-07-12 Thread Lisa belville
It depends. The volume of the phone call and voice over is still an issue
for me. I try locking the screen as soon as I make a call because VO will
announce the name of the person I'm calling and then give me the time
elapsed. I've turned off speech completely and have had good results with
that.

People can understand me just fine, but for me, the reception seems to get
distorted and can fade in and out, and this is with the phone in my pocket.

The same thing happens if I'm listening to a streaming music station,
though. I'm not sure why as the phone is right next to me. I can start
walking while the phone is in my pocket and the music breaks up and comes
back, so I'm not sure if something is being blocked while the phone is in my
pocket or what.

There's also a slight delay from the time you issue a command like a swipe
or double tap and the time the next app is located or opened. I know some
of this is the Bluetooth, but it can get annoying, especially when using
both a Bluetooth headset and Keyboard. I'm a fast typist, so this probably
doesn't help, either.

Over all, I like this headset. Pairing was a breeze, I just turned it on
and then went into the Bluetooth portion of the iPhone settings and it was
paired automatically. I can switch between off and standby or regular
headphones with no problems.

Keith,

It's my understanding you have to order directly from Aftershokz at this
point since the Bluez only have been shipping for maybe a month. I guess if
you find them anywhere else it would be on Amazon.
